You can run an Urdu podcast stream from a Windows PC by sending an audio-and-video feed from an encoder such as OBS to YouTube Live Control Room using your stream URL and key. The PC, encoder, power and internet connection must remain available for the broadcast to continue, so test the setup and arrange monitoring. Before you set up the stream
- Check live access: YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Confirm eligibility in YouTube Studio before configuring an encoder. YouTube Help: get started with live streaming.
- Plan the program: Decide whether the stream will use a static image with Urdu audio, a visualizer, or video. Test with the same amount of movement and audio as the intended broadcast; a busy visual can require more upload capacity than a still image.
- Check rights: You need the rights to broadcast and archive all material, including music, clips, and other third-party content. YouTube scans live streams for third-party material and may interrupt or terminate a stream after a match. YouTube Help: copyright on YouTube.
Create the YouTube stream and get its key
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to open Live Control Room. Choose to start or schedule a stream using encoder software.
- Set the stream details and visibility, then open the stream settings. Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s YouTube configuration. The key tells the encoder where to send the feed and allows YouTube to accept it; treat it like a password and do not publish it.
- If you plan recurring broadcasts, YouTube allows a custom stream key to be reused. Check that the encoder and the intended Live Control Room stream are using the same key before starting.
- Keep Live Control Room open so you can verify that the incoming preview appears and check stream health. YouTube’s encoder workflow is to start the encoder, confirm the preview, and then go live as appropriate for the event configuration. Follow the live status shown in your control room.

Configure an encoder on Windows
OBS Studio is one option for encoding on Windows; this guide does not depend on a particular OBS release or menu layout. Install and open an encoder, then set the YouTube service if offered. Otherwise, enter the stream URL as the server and the stream key in the key field. Add the microphone or prepared audio source and a scene for the video feed. For a spoken-word podcast with a still image, use a simple scene with that image and your audio source.
Choose settings that your PC and upload connection can sustain. YouTube recommends testing upload capacity with audio and movement similar to the actual broadcast. Its published H.264 examples are:

For H.264, YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval, with the interval not exceeding four seconds. For audio, YouTube lists AAC or MP3 and recommends 128 Kbps stereo. These are platform recommendations, not guarantees that a particular PC or connection will stay live. Use a lower resolution or bitrate if the connection cannot sustain the selected output reliably. A sharper image is not useful if upload fluctuations cause dropped frames or interruptions. For a largely static podcast image, prioritize consistent audio and a stable stream over unnecessary visual detail.

Test, go live, and monitor the broadcast
- Start the encoder before the scheduled start and check that YouTube Live Control Room receives its preview.
- Listen for clear speech and check that the image and audio remain synchronized. Confirm the selected microphone or audio input is active and not clipping.
- Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators and the encoder’s status for dropped frames or connection problems. YouTube advises: “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.” YouTube Help: live stream tips.
- If you record locally in the encoder, verify that the recording file is being created and growing. Keep enough disk space for the planned duration.
A Windows setup depends on the PC staying powered, the encoder continuing to run, and the network remaining connected. The reviewed YouTube guidance does not establish that a specific Windows computer, encoder, power arrangement, or ISP can sustain an uninterrupted 24/7 stream. Continuous operation therefore needs an operator or a monitoring and recovery plan.

Choose between one long stream and shorter sessions
A single long broadcast can keep the channel feed continuous, but it is not the safest choice if you need YouTube to preserve a complete replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; if a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. Keep a local recording as a backup and consider dividing the broadcast into shorter sessions if a reliable YouTube archive matters. YouTube Help: find or change your live stream archive.

Troubleshoot common problems
YouTube does not receive a preview
- Check that the encoder is using the stream URL and key from the correct Live Control Room stream.
- Confirm the channel is eligible for live streaming and that the encoder is actually sending.
- If you changed or regenerated the key, update it in the encoder and reconnect.
The stream is unstable or drops frames
- Reduce the resolution or video bitrate to a level the upload connection can sustain, then test again.
- Use CBR and a two-second keyframe interval for H.264, staying within YouTube’s four-second maximum recommendation.
- Check the encoder and network during the test; do not assume a speed test alone proves the connection will hold under the broadcast workload.
Speech is missing, distorted, or out of sync
- Confirm the intended microphone or audio source is selected and active in the encoder.
- Test with speech before going live and listen to the Live Control Room preview.
- Check audio levels and synchronization in the encoder rather than raising video quality to address an audio issue.
The stream is interrupted after playing music or clips
Review the rights for every third-party item in the program. YouTube scans live content; for licensed material, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube Help: copyright on YouTube.
The YouTube replay is missing or incomplete
Check the broadcast duration and do not rely on YouTube’s archive as the only copy of a long stream. Keep a local recording; for an archive you can count on being captured by YouTube, plan sessions under 12 hours in line with its guidance.
