Disable automatic sleep in the laptop’s operating system for the power state you’ll use, connect OBS to a YouTube encoder stream, and test the full setup before relying on it. JioBook models and operating systems differ, so first identify your exact model and OS rather than following a menu path that may not apply.
What “without sleep mode” means for a live stream
OBS encodes and sends the stream from the computer. If the operating system sleeps or the laptop powers off, OBS cannot continue sending video. The display can turn off without the computer necessarily sleeping, so configure system sleep—not just screen timeout. An OBS Project forum helper summarized the requirement as, “Your PC must be fully on in order to stream”; that is general guidance, not a JioBook-specific instruction (OBS Project forum thread).

Jio’s published JioBook specifications list a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor, 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64 GB onboard storage (expandable up to 256 GB), and an 11.6-inch HD display. Jio also describes “more than 8 hours” of non-stop usage. These specifications do not establish that a particular JioBook can encode a chosen scene and resolution continuously, or stay live for 24 hours without interruption (JioBook technical specifications).
Prepare OBS and YouTube before changing power settings
Check whether your Jio laptop can handle the workload
- Identify the exact JioBook model and operating system version. The available Jio product information does not provide a model-specific OBS compatibility statement or OBS-focused sleep instructions. Confirm which OBS version is available for your installed OS before planning the stream.
- Get OBS from the official project and check its requirements. OBS warns that compatible hardware and software do not guarantee streaming or recording performance. CPU load depends on the encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity. Start with Tools > Auto Configuration Wizard in OBS for a baseline, then test your actual scene (OBS system requirements).
- Keep the scene manageable. Browser sources, animated overlays, filters, and multiple video sources add work. Begin with the scene and audio sources you genuinely need; a configuration that previews acceptably still needs a live test.
Enable YouTube live streaming and create an encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and make sure live streaming is enabled for the channel. For first-time activation, YouTube says enablement may take up to 24 hours. The channel must be verified and must not have a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- In YouTube Studio, create or select a live stream that uses an encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter the stream URL and key using the available connection method. Keep the key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your broadcast.
- Set up the video scene and audio, then start streaming from OBS. Check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before treating the broadcast as live for viewers. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring stream quality (YouTube’s encoder setup and live-stream guidance; YouTube live streaming tips for computers).
Prevent the Jio laptop from sleeping
Find the correct power control for your OS
Menu names and available controls vary by operating system and version, and the cited Jio materials do not establish a universal JioBook path. Find the OS’s power or battery settings and set automatic sleep to Never (or the equivalent) while connected to power. If you also intend to stream on battery, check the separate battery-powered setting; changing the plugged-in option may not affect it. Keep the screen timeout separate from system sleep.

Check the lid behavior and power state
- If you plan to close the lid, verify what the operating system does when it closes. Do not assume the stream will continue; lid-close behavior may trigger sleep.
- Use the same power source and lid/display arrangement you intend to use for the long stream. Keep the laptop powered and its vents unobstructed.
- Before leaving the stream unattended, run a test with the intended network, OBS scene, audio, resolution, and display state. Monitor the YouTube preview and stream health long enough to reveal disconnects or performance problems. OBS’s laptop troubleshooting guidance is relevant if OBS shows rendering or encoding trouble.
Run a test, then monitor for failure
Do not treat a successful start as proof of a reliable 24-hour broadcast. Test the complete setup in the same conditions you plan to use, and watch for OBS warnings, dropped connection, missing audio, or a frozen YouTube preview. The exact JioBook model, OS version, OBS package availability, network upload capacity, and intended scene and quality determine the result; the published specifications alone cannot settle those questions.
YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not promise that a 24-hour stream will be archived as one video, so do not rely on a single uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast as your only recording (YouTube encoder streaming guidance). If the content matters as a recording, make a separate recording plan and verify that it is working.

Common problems and what to check
- The stream stops when the screen goes dark: Check whether the laptop actually entered sleep. Screen-off and sleep are separate settings; confirm the OS sleep timer for the current power state.
- The stream stops when the lid closes: Test lid-close behavior and keep the lid open unless you have confirmed that closing it does not suspend the system.
- YouTube does not show a preview: Confirm live streaming is enabled, the correct encoder stream is selected, and OBS has the right stream URL and key. Check the Live Control Room before assuming viewers can see the broadcast.
- OBS reports encoding or rendering lag: Reduce workload by simplifying the scene or lowering the resolution or frame rate, then retest. OBS notes that performance varies with encoder, resolution, FPS, and scene complexity; a compatible system is not a performance guarantee.
- The broadcast disconnects or quality deteriorates: Check OBS’s connection status and YouTube’s stream health, then test the network and setup again. The available specifications do not establish the upload capacity or reliability of your particular connection.
- You expect a 24-hour archive but cannot find one video: YouTube’s stated automatic-archive rule covers streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed single archive for a 24-hour broadcast. Plan and verify a separate recording if needed.
Copyright and channel rules still apply
Keeping OBS running does not make the content eligible to stream. Use video, music, and other material you have the rights to use, and review YouTube’s live-stream rules and any applicable channel restrictions before broadcasting. A continuous loop is not a substitute for permission, and a stream key does not grant rights to copyrighted material.
