Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteYou can run an Indian classical music radio-style YouTube Live stream by playing authorized local audio or video files through OBS Studio and sending the output to YouTube with an encoder stream key. For a single recording, use OBS’s Media Source and enable Loop; for a sequence, use its VLC Video source, add the files to the playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. First make sure you have the rights to broadcast every recording. A playlist of videos already hosted on YouTube is not the same thing as a playlist of local files, and the official workflow described here does not establish a way to rebroadcast YouTube playlist items.
Before you begin: confirm eligibility and music rights
Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days to livestream. Its help page also sets the minimum age for livestreaming at 16. Check your channel’s status in YouTube Studio; eligibility and restrictions are specific to the account. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance explains the requirements.

Use recordings cleared for the stream
Use recordings you made yourself, recordings confirmed to be in the public domain, or recordings for which you have permission broad enough to cover the intended live broadcast, territories, and any saved archive. Public-domain status can differ by country and may apply to a composition but not to a particular performance or recording, so check the recording itself as well as the underlying music.
Recommended Free Tools
YouTube’s guidance on finding safe music identifies public-domain music and music you have permission to use as safer bases. A description or upload page calling a track “free” does not itself establish broadcast permission or prevent a Content ID match.

YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Make sure the rights you have actually cover the intended use.
Choose how OBS will play the recordings
| Source in OBS | Best for | Repeat setting | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Media Source | One local audio or video file | Loop | No VLC installation required |
| VLC Video source | A sequence of local files | Loop Playlist | VLC must be installed for this source to appear |
These OBS sources play local media; the playlist is not itself a YouTube stream. The documented setup does not establish a method or permission to rebroadcast items from an existing YouTube playlist. Do not download or retransmit other people’s tracks unless you have permission. See OBS’s Media Sources documentation for the source behavior.

Set up a looping playlist in OBS
For one recording
- Open OBS Studio and add a Media Source to the scene you will use for the stream.
- Choose the local media file you have cleared for broadcast.
- Enable Loop in the source properties so the file starts again when playback reaches the end.
- Confirm the source is visible in the scene and that its audio meter responds during playback.
For multiple recordings
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. OBS requires VLC for the VLC Video source to appear.
- In OBS, add a VLC Video source to the scene.
- In the source properties, add the authorized local media files to its playlist in the order you want them to play.
- Enable Loop Playlist so playback returns to the start after the final item.
- Check the scene preview and audio meter while the playlist plays; make sure the intended files, order, and sound are correct.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or manage a live stream. YouTube lists an encoder as one of its supported streaming methods; see its encoder setup guidance.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in YouTube’s stream settings into the corresponding OBS streaming fields. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share it or publish it.
- Start streaming from OBS. Wait for the incoming signal and inspect the Live Control Room preview before making the broadcast public.
- Listen to the preview and confirm the correct playlist audio is present, the stream page is accessible as intended, and the outgoing connection is stable.
- Start the broadcast from YouTube’s Live Control Room when the preview is ready.
YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend keeping upload bandwidth 20% above the bitrate you use for the stream. Treat this as headroom for a more stable connection, not as a guarantee: test the actual upload connection from the place and network you will use.
Monitor the broadcast and handle copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause the stream to be replaced with a placeholder, interrupted, or terminated. If you have licensed material that is nevertheless being matched, YouTube advises contacting the rights owner and asking them to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
- A match appears before or during the stream: stop and review the identified recording and your permission before continuing. Do not assume a “free” label resolves a claim.
- You hold a license but the live stream is blocked: contact the rights owner about the Content ID allowlist and confirm the license covers the channel and intended broadcast.
- The stream is interrupted or terminated: check Live Control Room notices and the affected track before restarting. Restarting without addressing the match may lead to another interruption.
Troubleshooting common setup problems
- VLC Video is missing from the source list: install VLC, then reopen or restart OBS so it can detect the installation.
- The same file does not repeat: open the Media Source properties and check that Loop is enabled.
- The playlist stops after its last file: check the VLC Video source properties for Loop Playlist.
- YouTube is not receiving the stream: check the stream URL and key in OBS against the current values in YouTube Studio, then confirm the channel is eligible to livestream.
- The stream starts but the preview has no audio: check that the correct source is playing, watch its OBS audio meter, and listen to the Live Control Room preview before starting publicly.
- The connection is unstable: compare the encoder bitrate with the available upload bandwidth and restore YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Recheck the connection rather than assuming the bitrate alone is the cause.
- Content ID interrupts the broadcast: review the match notice and rights for the recording; if it is licensed, ask the rights owner about adding the channel to the allowlist.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want a YouTube radio-style stream to keep playing without leaving the home computer on, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing at home has to stay on; it streams your uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. You still need the rights to broadcast every recording.
