You can run an always-on yoga stream by hosting an encoder on an Indian VPS and sending its video output to YouTube Live. Create a live stream in YouTube Studio, copy the YouTube-generated server URL and stream key into an encoder such as FFmpeg, and connect over RTMPS. The VPS must sustain the chosen video bitrate around the clock; an advertised port speed alone does not prove it can.
This guide covers a prerecorded yoga-video feed. YouTube’s ingest guidance explains how to connect an encoder, but it does not validate a particular VPS provider, plan, FFmpeg command, or automatic-restart setup. Check your chosen provider’s current terms and test its actual performance before relying on it for a continuous broadcast.

What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. YouTube’s current guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and a streamer must be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- A yoga video or playlist you have the rights to broadcast, including the footage, voice, and music.
- An Indian VPS with a location and network route suitable for your audience and YouTube ingest, enough sustained outbound bandwidth, and terms that permit continuous streaming.
- An encoder installed on the VPS. FFmpeg can encode and send a file-based feed, but the exact installation, command, and process supervision depend on the VPS operating system and the source files.
- A separate recording and storage plan if you need a complete archive of the broadcast.
A VPS is the computer that hosts the encoder and sends the feed; YouTube is the destination that receives it. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup steps to create the stream and get its server URL and stream key.

YouTube recommends leaving 20% headroom above the total bitrate being sent. That is a YouTube recommendation, not a promise that any provider can sustain your target rate. Set YouTube’s encoder settings
Choose settings based on the resolution and frame rate of the video you are sending, as well as the capacity your VPS and network can sustain. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video, and AAC or MP3 audio for RTMP/RTMPS. These are YouTube encoder recommendations, not guarantees of VPS performance. YouTube’s settings and bitrate guidance is at Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. Do not select a target bitrate that exceeds what the VPS can sustain with the recommended network headroom.

Create a live stream and connect the VPS
- Enable and check livestream eligibility. Complete channel verification and confirm there is no active livestreaming restriction. YouTube may require time after enabling live streaming before the first broadcast is available.
- Create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio. Use YouTube’s encoder workflow to create a live stream. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream; do not substitute an endpoint or key from another stream.
- Prepare the source and encoder on the VPS. Put the yoga video where the encoder can read it and configure the encoder for the selected resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, CBR, keyframe interval, and audio format. A prerecorded feed needs a deliberate looping or playlist arrangement if it is to continue after the source file reaches its end.
- Configure a secure ingest connection. Prefer RTMPS. YouTube’s RTMPS documentation specifies RTMP over SSL, the valid YouTube ingest endpoint and path, port 443, and the correct server hostname for SNI. Follow the exact endpoint and path from the YouTube workflow and the RTMPS ingestion requirements.
- Send the stream key privately to the encoder. Treat it like a password: anyone with the key may be able to broadcast to the associated stream. Keep it out of public scripts, screenshots, and logs; rotate it in YouTube if it is exposed.
- Start the encoder and inspect YouTube’s preview. Confirm that the video, audio, aspect ratio, and pacing look right and that Live Control Room reports a healthy incoming stream. Test the actual VPS outbound rate with the selected content before treating the setup as production-ready.
- Plan for process and instance failures. Decide how the encoder will be monitored and restarted if it exits, and how you will respond if the VPS or its network becomes unavailable. The provider’s restart features and the supervision method vary; neither a restart policy nor a particular FFmpeg service configuration is established by YouTube’s ingest documentation.
Protect the yoga video, music, and broadcast rights
YouTube’s livestream terms require the broadcaster to have all necessary rights for the live content worldwide, including music licensing rights. Obtain permission for yoga footage, voice recordings, and every music track; a subscription or a credit line does not by itself establish broadcast rights. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A placeholder may replace a stream, and the feed may be interrupted or terminated if matched material remains or there is a relevant strike. Decide how to preserve an archive
Do not assume YouTube will retain a complete copy of an always-on broadcast. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving the full yoga program matters, record a separate archive and provide enough storage for it. The guidance is on YouTube’s archive live streams page.

- YouTube receives no video: Check that the encoder is using the server URL and stream key for the intended live stream. Verify the RTMPS endpoint, path, port 443, and hostname/SNI requirements, then inspect the encoder’s connection output.
- The preview is unstable or YouTube reports poor stream health: Compare the encoder’s total bitrate with sustained VPS outbound capacity. Reduce output resolution or bitrate if needed, maintain YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and test with representative movement and audio.
- The image looks soft or the motion is choppy: Check that the source, encoder frame rate, resolution, and bitrate agree. Confirm the VPS has enough CPU if encoding in real time, and review YouTube’s recommended settings for the intended output.
- The stream stops when a video ends: A single file ending does not create an endless feed. Configure a loop or playlist in the encoder and verify the transition using the actual source material before leaving the broadcast unattended.
- The broadcast is interrupted after a copyright match: Remove or replace the matched material and secure the necessary rights. If licensed content is involved, ask the rights holder about any required Content ID allowlisting.
- The stream is online but the archive is incomplete: YouTube may not capture streams exceeding 12 hours. Record a separate copy if a full archive is required.
- The encoder exits or the VPS disconnects: Check process logs, instance status, provider network notices, and continuous-use terms. Set up monitoring and a recovery procedure appropriate to the VPS; a YouTube ingest connection alone does not make the host failure-proof.
