You can broadcast a recorded property launch as a scheduled YouTube Live event by creating the event in YouTube Studio, sending the recording through an encoder with your YouTube stream URL and stream key, checking the preview, and clicking Go live. Make the title, description, and opening slate clear that it is a replay. Scheduling creates an event page and reminder option; it does not start playback of the recording by itself.
Check channel eligibility and event rights
Before setting up the broadcast, confirm that the channel and the recorded material are ready to be streamed.

- Channel: YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. The person streaming must be at least 16. YouTube Help states: “To live stream, you need to have no live streaming restrictions in the past 90 days and you need to verify your channel.” YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance was checked on October 3, 2026.
- Rights: Confirm that you have permission to retransmit every element in the recording, including event footage, music, presentation slides, photographs, logos, and any third-party video or audio. A launch event having already taken place does not establish that its materials can be rebroadcast.
- Project claims: Have the developer’s compliance lead or qualified Indian counsel review project descriptions, pricing, approvals, and other disclosures. The YouTube operational guidance cited here does not establish whether a particular real-estate replay meets Indian advertising, registration, consumer-protection, or disclosure requirements.
- Operator: Assign someone to start the encoder, monitor stream health and chat, and respond if the feed fails. Scheduling alone does not perform these tasks.
Choose a scheduled Live replay or a Premiere
A scheduled Live replay is appropriate when you want to broadcast an existing recording at a specific time through an encoder and operate it as a live event. YouTube describes Live as media broadcast in real time. A Premiere is a new video watched with creators and their community; YouTube’s guidance does not establish that a Premiere is equivalent to an encoder-fed Live broadcast.

If your goal is specifically to stream a prerecorded video on YouTube Live, use the Live encoder workflow below rather than assuming that scheduling a video will play it automatically. YouTube’s overview of Premieres and live streams explains the distinction.

Create and schedule the YouTube event
- Sign in to YouTube Studio and choose Create > Go live to open Live Control Room.
- In the Manage area, create or schedule the stream. You can also create a stream in the Stream tab. For a launch with an announced start time, scheduling creates a shareable watch page where viewers can set reminders.
- Enter the event title and description, and choose privacy and other stream settings. Identify it as a replay in the title or description—for example, “Recorded launch event replay”—and show the same information on the opening slate. This is practical viewer-facing guidance, not a special YouTube labeling rule.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio for use in the encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send video to your event. Do not put it in public materials, shared screenshots, or an unprotected document.
- Share the scheduled watch page with invitees and include the start time and time zone in your event communications.
Use YouTube’s encoder setup instructions for the current Live Control Room workflow. A scheduled event promotes the time and provides a watch page; it does not play a stored file on its own.
Configure an encoder to play the recording
You need an encoder that can send a video feed to YouTube and, for this workflow, play a local video file into its output. YouTube’s connection instructions explain where to use the stream URL and key, but do not compare encoder products or establish which named products support local-file playback. Check the current documentation for the encoder you choose before relying on it for a scheduled event.

- Open the encoder and select its option to play or add the recorded event file as the video source. Confirm the recording’s picture and sound are present in the encoder preview.
- Set the encoder’s destination or streaming service to YouTube, then enter the stream URL and stream key copied from Live Control Room. Use the exact event key; do not reuse or share it casually.
- Set the event’s intended playback framing and audio, and check that the encoder is sending a stable feed. YouTube recommends RTMPS, its secure stream transport.
- Start the encoder feed early enough to receive and inspect YouTube’s incoming preview before the announced event time. Do not click Go live until you are ready for viewers to see the broadcast.
YouTube’s live-streaming tips cover encoder and production considerations, while its streaming quality guidance covers signal quality. The cited material does not prescribe a particular bitrate, resolution, or keyframe setting for this event; use settings supported by both your encoder and source recording, and check YouTube’s current guidance rather than guessing values.

Test, start, and monitor the replay
- Test ahead of time: Start setup well before the scheduled start. Confirm the watch page opens, the incoming preview appears in Live Control Room, and audio and video play correctly on a phone as well as the operator’s computer.
- Check the whole experience: Review the opening slate, replay disclosure, audio levels, slide legibility, and transitions. If possible, check the feed from a viewer account or device rather than relying only on the encoder preview.
- Start the event: Start the encoder and wait for YouTube’s preview to show the incoming feed. When the recording and slate are ready, click Go live in Live Control Room.
- Watch while it runs: Keep an operator available to monitor stream health, picture, sound, and chat. If the feed stalls or drops, use the encoder and Live Control Room status information to identify which side needs attention.
- End deliberately: After the recording finishes, stop the encoder feed and end the stream in YouTube’s interface as applicable. Confirm that the event is no longer broadcasting before closing the operator session.
Check the saved replay
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. After the broadcast, open the channel’s Live tab in YouTube Studio, locate the event, and confirm that the resulting video is available and has the intended privacy setting. If the archive is not visible as expected, check the stream’s status and visibility in Studio rather than assuming that scheduling guaranteed a public replay.
