To loop Indian wedding venue tours on YouTube Live, use OBS Studio to send a prerecorded video or playlist to YouTube as an encoder stream. For one tour, add it as a Media Source and enable Loop; for several tours, use OBS’s VLC Video source with a playlist and Loop Playlist enabled. You’ll need an eligible YouTube channel, permission for every video and audio track, and a computer and internet connection that can stay on for the broadcast. This walkthrough covers the local OBS method, YouTube’s key rules, and a cloud alternative for unattended streaming.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming. YouTube says the channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days; streamers must be at least 16. Follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Check the current requirements on YouTube’s live-streaming help page, since platform rules can change.
- Authorized venue-tour footage. Have the original video files available on the computer running OBS. Confirm that you may stream both the footage and all audio, including music and narration.
- OBS Studio and, for a playlist, VLC. OBS’s Media Source handles a single file; its VLC Video source provides playlist playback and requires VLC to be installed.
- A reliable computer and internet connection. OBS must remain running and the computer must stay powered and connected for the duration of a local stream. An external camera, capture card, or hardware encoder is not needed just to loop existing files.
Set up a single-video loop in OBS
- Create a scene. In OBS, add a scene for the venue-tour broadcast and select it before configuring the source.
- Add the video file. In the scene’s Sources panel, select + and choose Media Source. Create a new source, browse to the authorized local video, and confirm. OBS documents common formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM; if a file does not play, check its format and whether OBS can decode it.
- Enable looping. Open the Media Source properties and check Loop. The source should restart when it reaches the end. Consult the OBS Media Sources guide if labels differ in your installed version; its loop controls were documented in an article dated January 11, 2022.
- Fit the picture and check sound. Select the source in the preview and use OBS’s transform options to fit it to the canvas without stretching. Watch the preview from start to end of a short test and inspect the audio meters. Set audio levels so narration and ambient sound are audible without clipping; mute or remove any track you are not authorized to use.
Loop a playlist of several venue tours
- Install VLC. OBS requires VLC for its VLC Video source. If the source is missing, install VLC and restart OBS.
- Add a VLC Video source. In the scene’s Sources panel, select + and choose VLC Video Source.
- Build the playlist. In the source properties, add each local video file in the order you want it to play. Check that every file is accessible on the streaming computer.
- Enable playlist looping. Turn on Loop Playlist and test the transition between clips as well as the point where the final clip returns to the first. Confirm that audio does not jump unexpectedly between tours.
- Add accurate context. Use original labels or narration for the venue name, city, verified capacity, tour date, amenities, layout, or accessibility details when known. Do not imply that unverified details are current or that footage belongs to you if it does not.
A single Media Source is the simpler choice for one repeating tour. A VLC playlist suits a sequence of different venues and gives viewers more variation, but it requires VLC and rights for every clip and soundtrack. Neither setup guarantees uninterrupted operation; with OBS, broadcast continuity depends in part on the computer, software, and network remaining available.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Open YouTube Live Control Room. Create or select the intended live event and choose the encoder setup. YouTube’s live-streaming guide explains the encoder route and connection details.
- Enter the event’s stream details in OBS. In OBS, open Settings > Stream and select YouTube or the relevant service configuration. Enter the stream key for that event, following YouTube’s on-screen instructions. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or include it in on-screen graphics. Use the event’s current key rather than assuming a previous event’s details apply.
- Check the video and audio feed. Return to the venue-tour scene, confirm the preview is correct, and watch the OBS audio meters. In Live Control Room, check that YouTube is receiving the encoder feed and inspect its preview before starting the broadcast.
- Run a short test. Confirm playback, audio, and the return from the final playlist item to the first (if using a playlist). OBS recommends checking settings and testing before a first stream in its Quick Start Guide. Schedule the public broadcast only after the feed behaves as intended.
- Monitor the stream. Keep an eye on OBS and Live Control Room during the broadcast. For a local setup, do not shut down the computer or let it lose network access while you expect the stream to continue.
Copyright and monetization rules for venue tours
Get rights to every video and audio element
Being allowed to film or show a venue does not automatically establish the right to stream a videographer’s footage, a music track, or other third-party material. Obtain permission for the footage and each audio element before broadcasting. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If a match remains in the stream, YouTube may replace the image, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it.

A license alone may not prevent an interruption if Content ID identifies the material. Ask the content owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist where appropriate. If a warning or interruption occurs, follow YouTube’s instructions and remove or replace the matched material before resuming.

Make the stream useful and distinct
YouTube’s monetization guidance applies to live streams. The policy page, which notes a July 15, 2025 clarification renaming “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content,” says repetitive or mass-produced material with little original value can be ineligible for monetization. YouTube separately defines reused content as material repurposed from YouTube or another source without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. The reused-content review is separate from copyright: permission to use a video does not by itself establish monetization eligibility. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
- Provide original narration, meaningful comparisons, or verified information about each venue rather than relying on repeated imagery alone.
- Identify the location and date of a tour where known, and distinguish verified details from estimates or unknowns.
- Do not present another creator’s tour as your own. Keep permission records for footage and audio.
- A loop setup does not guarantee eligibility for ads or any other monetization feature; channel and content review requirements still apply.

Troubleshooting common problems
- The Media Source is blank or will not play: confirm that the local file path is correct and that the file is in a supported format. Test a common format such as MP4, MOV, MKV, or WebM, as listed in OBS’s Media Sources guide.
- The VLC Video source is unavailable: install VLC, restart OBS, and check the Sources menu again.
- The video stops after one pass: reopen source properties and confirm Loop is enabled for a Media Source or Loop Playlist for a VLC playlist.
- YouTube is not receiving the encoder feed: check that OBS is connected to the intended YouTube event and that its stream key matches the event’s connection details. Keep the key private.
- The stream has no sound or the audio is distorted: check OBS audio meters while the clip plays, verify that the intended source is not muted, and test a short section before going public.
- YouTube interrupts or replaces the stream: check for a Content ID match and follow the notice in Live Control Room. Remove or replace the matched material; for licensed content, contact the owner about allowlisting your channel.
- The broadcast stops when unattended: in a local OBS setup, check power, sleep settings, OBS operation, and network availability. A local loop cannot continue if the computer or connection stops; a cloud service is an alternative when unattended operation is required.
