To run recorded Punjabi Christian sermons continuously on YouTube, create or schedule a YouTube Live broadcast, connect an encoder using the broadcast’s server URL and stream key, and keep that encoder sending a prepared sermon feed. A computer running OBS is one do-it-yourself option; a cloud service can keep the feed running without a church computer left on. 1. Check YouTube Live eligibility before preparing the stream
YouTube requires the channel to be verified and not to have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned start. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

2. Choose where the sermon feed will run
YouTube Live receives an encoder feed. YouTube defines an encoder as software or hardware that converts video into a digital format for streaming. A local computer running OBS is a practical do-it-yourself route; YouTube’s verified encoder directory also lists a cloud service described as supporting 24/7 prerecorded-video streams. YouTube notes that directory products are not made by YouTube.

3. Create or schedule the YouTube broadcast
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create a new stream, or schedule one for a future start.
- Set a clear title, description, and visibility. Identify the broadcast as recorded Punjabi Christian sermons so viewers know it is a continuous playback stream.
- Review the remaining broadcast details and schedule information before sharing the link. YouTube says scheduling lets creators promote an upcoming stream.
- Keep the Live Control Room available during setup; it provides the stream connection details and the live status information needed for monitoring.
Use YouTube’s encoder setup instructions for the current Studio workflow: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. Studio labels or layout can change, so follow the labels displayed in your channel.
4. Connect OBS and prepare the sermon playback
Get the stream connection details
- In the Live Control Room, locate the stream’s server URL and stream key.
- In OBS, open the stream settings and enter the server URL and stream key supplied by YouTube. Treat the key like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to the broadcast. Do not publish it or include it in a public document.
- Start the encoder feed when the broadcast is ready, then confirm in the Live Control Room that YouTube is receiving it.
Build and test the sermon scene
In OBS, create a scene and add the media source or sources that make up the sermon feed. Prepare the order of recordings, transitions, and any title or church information the congregation needs. The exact loop configuration depends on how the media is organized; YouTube and OBS’s general setup guidance do not establish a guaranteed nonstop playlist configuration.

- Play the entire intended sequence, including the transition from the last recording back to the first.
- Listen for usable speech levels, missing audio, abrupt cuts, or silence between sermons.
- Check that the picture is correctly framed and that any on-screen text is readable.
- Test what happens when a media file ends, OBS reconnects, or the internet connection briefly drops.
- Confirm that the broadcast is visible as intended before announcing a continuous schedule.
Use OBS’s streaming and output controls to configure the encoder. Choose resolution and other output settings that match the source material and the available upload connection; no single bitrate or quality setting can be prescribed without those details. A working stream in a short test is not proof that the playlist will run indefinitely, so test the actual content and operating conditions.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted material in another live broadcast. If it detects such content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. YouTube also says that even when a church has licensed third-party material, the rights holder may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams before broadcasting.

- Check each sermon recording for background music, worship songs, images, video clips, and other inserted material.
- Review applicable rights for Bible translations and any material quoted or displayed; do not assume that permission for an ordinary upload automatically covers a live broadcast.
- Keep records of licenses and permissions, and ask the relevant rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where applicable.
- If rights are unclear, remove or replace the material before scheduling the continuous stream.
6. Plan sessions, archives, and monitoring
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that one uninterrupted broadcast lasting longer than that will produce a single complete archive. Decide how the church will manage stream sessions, and preserve the original sermon recordings separately if they need to remain available. YouTube’s encoder guidance says to stop sending content from the encoder to end the stream.
During operation, monitor both the Live Control Room and the encoder. Check that YouTube is still receiving the feed, that the expected sermon is playing, and that audio remains present. Establish who can respond if the feed stops or a rights notice appears.
