You can run a Malayalam rain-and-thunder ambience stream around the clock by sending a continuous encoder feed to YouTube Live—but first secure rights to every sound and visual, verify your channel’s live-streaming eligibility, and plan for interruptions and archive limits. A 24/7 broadcast is not a guaranteed 24-hour YouTube replay, and permission to use your content does not guarantee monetization.
Plan the content and rights before you go live
Build the stream from rain and thunder recordings, visuals, and any other sounds you created or have permission to use for both livestreaming and any archive you intend to keep. Save the original files, contracts, and the exact license terms. A “royalty-free” label by itself does not establish that a recording is cleared for your intended YouTube use.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including other live broadcasts. If its systems identify a match, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the content; continued use can lead to interruption or termination. A license does not necessarily prevent a Content ID match. If a licensed track may be matched, ask the rights owner whether it can add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. The streamer must be at least 16. Check that live streaming is enabled in YouTube Studio before preparing a long broadcast; account eligibility and enforcement can affect whether a planned stream can start or remain live. Set up an encoder stream
An encoder sends the audio and video feed to YouTube continuously. OBS is one software option. YouTube’s Studio interface and software settings can change, so follow the current screens and guidance rather than relying on old screenshots. - Prepare a continuous scene. Add your cleared rain-and-thunder audio and a visual you own or are licensed to use. Make sure the scene does not rely on a camera if the intended experience is a sound ambience stream. Set audio levels so the sound is audible without clipping.
- Create an encoder broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open the live-streaming workflow in Studio, choose the encoder option, and create or schedule the stream. Use an accurate title and description that identify it as Malayalam rain-and-thunder sleep ambience; do not promise sleep or health outcomes.
- Connect the encoder using the stream details YouTube provides. Copy the stream key into the encoder’s YouTube destination settings, keeping it private. Anyone who obtains the key may be able to broadcast to your stream. If you suspect it has leaked, replace it in Studio and update the encoder.
- Start with a private or unlisted test. Confirm that YouTube receives both audio and video, the picture is stable, audio is present and not clipping, and the title and description are accurate. Test recovery after a brief network interruption on your own setup; do not assume a configuration will reconnect correctly without checking it.
- Make the public launch only after checking the live control room. Confirm the correct stream is selected and watch for encoder disconnects, audio/video failures, policy notices, and copyright notifications.
Choose how the stream will stay online
The encoder needs a host that stays connected for as long as you want the broadcast to run. The practical choices are a computer at home, a server you manage, or a hosted cloud service. Compare not only the bill, but who is responsible for restarts, network outages, software maintenance, and monitoring. A running encoder process alone does not prove that YouTube is still receiving a healthy stream.

- Self-managed server: A VPS or other server can move the encoder away from your home connection, but you remain responsible for setup, maintenance, and recovery.
- Hosted cloud service: A managed option can reduce the need to keep a personal computer running; check the provider’s current limits, price, data handling, and recovery behavior before relying on it.
Protect the archive and plan around YouTube’s 12-hour caveat
YouTube says a live stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. It warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, and recommends keeping a local recording backup. Therefore, a single uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast is not a reliable way to create a complete 24-hour YouTube replay. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

If a complete replay matters, decide in advance whether to end and restart on a schedule or record locally while streaming. Test that your recording workflow captures the full audio and video and that you have enough storage for the duration you need; YouTube’s recommendation does not specify a required drive size. A local recording also gives you a copy to review if the online archive is incomplete.
Understand monetization separately from copyright
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams. On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material is ineligible for monetization. Reviewers may consider the channel’s theme, popular and recent videos, share of watch time, metadata, and About section. A loop can have cleared rights yet still fail monetization review if the channel appears generic, repetitive, or mass-produced. Small changes to a loop do not guarantee eligibility. Make the channel’s value and authorship clear: describe what you recorded or created, use accurate metadata, and avoid presenting someone else’s sounds or visuals as your own. No monetization outcome can be promised for a particular ambience stream.

During the stream, check YouTube’s live control room and account notices rather than relying only on the encoder’s status. YouTube retains enforcement authority over live broadcasts.
