You can keep a Hindi news program live on YouTube around the clock with an encoder that sends a continuous stream, but the first decision is not which encoder to use: it is what you have the right to broadcast. The more defensible format is original Hindi recaps, explainers, or commentary, with third-party footage used only when your permission explicitly covers the intended live stream and its archive. A straight replay of another broadcaster’s feed carries greater rights and interruption risk, and permission alone does not ensure YouTube monetization eligibility.
Choose a format before planning a 24-hour schedule
Decide whether the channel will publish original programming, commentary using licensed clips, or an authorized rebroadcast. These models differ in both rights exposure and how clearly the channel demonstrates its own editorial contribution.

YouTube’s channel monetization policy says borrowed material needs to be changed significantly to make it the creator’s own. Its reviewers may assess the channel’s theme, top and newest videos, share of watch time, metadata, and About section, so a few original clips do not necessarily offset a channel built mostly from lightly modified replays.

Clear rights for the live stream and its archive
YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for live content on Google services and to comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements in the stream territory. Treat rights clearance as a prerequisite to scheduling, not a problem to solve after a claim arrives.

Get permission that matches the way you plan to publish
Keep written records that identify the specific footage or other material, the platform, territories, duration, and permission for both live transmission and archived replay. Check each element: footage, music, photographs, graphics, scripts, and any material included in a supplied feed. A license for one use should not be assumed to cover a continuous YouTube stream or its saved version.
Ask about Content ID allowlisting
A rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for licensed live footage. Without that step, YouTube says a licensed stream can still be interrupted. Archived live streams may also receive Content ID claims after the broadcast ends, so confirm the process for both the live period and the archive with the rights holder.

Keep a rights file ready
- Store the signed license or written permission and the contact information for the rights holder.
- Record which assets the permission covers and any limits on territory, term, edits, music, or replay.
- Save confirmation of any Content ID allowlisting and a route to reach the rights holder during a live incident.
- Do not treat a cleared clip as evidence that the rest of a program is cleared; check every third-party element.
Build a repeatable program, not just a loop
A 24-hour schedule needs enough material to avoid accidental gaps and to make the channel’s editorial contribution understandable. A practical schedule can combine original Hindi news summaries, topic-specific explainers, interviews or analysis you have rights to publish, and clearly labeled updates. Plan how often the material is refreshed and how you will correct or remove a segment if a factual or rights problem is found.
Make meaningful variation part of production. YouTube identifies repetitive, mass-produced, templated content and reused material with little commentary or modification as potential monetization problems. Repeating the same short bulletin indefinitely may keep a signal active, but it does not by itself create a distinctive, original news program.

Configure the encoder for YouTube Live
Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance as the technical baseline. It recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate encoding, and a keyframe interval of two seconds, with intervals no longer than four seconds. The guidance supports H.264, H.265, and AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio. For example, its table recommends 6 Mbps for H.264 at 720p and 30 frames per second. Choose a resolution and bitrate your sustained upload connection can reliably support, then test the actual program before relying on it overnight.
- Prepare the channel and live event. In YouTube’s live-streaming controls, create or select the event you intend to run and obtain its stream key and server details. The exact labels and setup flow can change. Keep the key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to the event. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube’s controls and update the encoder.
- Enter the ingest details in the encoder. Select RTMPS where available and enter the server URL and stream key supplied for the event. Do not publish the key in a video, chat, public document, or support screenshot.
- Set the video encoder. Select a supported codec and use constant bitrate. Set the keyframe interval to two seconds and do not exceed four seconds. Pick a resolution and frame rate that fit the footage and can be sustained by the available upload capacity; use YouTube’s current bitrate table for the chosen codec and output format.
- Set the audio encoder. Use AAC or MP3 and check that the program’s spoken Hindi is clear, at a consistent level, and not clipped. Test the actual music, voices, and other sound types that will appear in the stream.
- Run a representative preflight. Test footage with typical motion as well as the real audio mix. Confirm that the encoder reports a stable output and review YouTube’s stream-health messages before committing to a long run.
- Start the event and monitor it. Confirm that the intended event is receiving the correct program, then keep an operator available to respond to stream-health, network, rights, or content problems.
The example 720p/30 fps bitrate is a YouTube recommendation for H.264, not a universal target for every codec, frame rate, or connection. If the uplink cannot sustain the selected settings, lower the output to a level it can maintain rather than assuming a brief successful test proves overnight stability.

Plan operations for the hours nobody is watching
YouTube’s encoder guidance covers configuration, testing, and stream-health monitoring; it does not guarantee uninterrupted 24-hour operation or endorse a particular hardware, automation, or failover design. Treat continuity as an operating plan you must build and verify.
Before going live
- Test the complete chain: source playlist or program, encoder, network connection, YouTube event, audio, and the display a viewer will see.
- Prepare a schedule with enough authorized material for the planned run, and define what should play if a segment is delayed or withdrawn.
- Choose who will check the stream and when. A stream that is unattended for long periods has no one available to notice a frozen picture, muted audio, rights interruption, or encoder failure.
- Decide how an operator will contact the internet provider, encoder administrator, and relevant rights holder, and who can safely replace a compromised stream key.
When something goes wrong
Have a response plan for an interrupted connection or encoder, a YouTube stream-health warning, a Content ID interruption, and a segment that needs correction or removal. Keep a lawful backup program ready if your rights permit its use. Test any recovery procedure rather than assuming that a spare device, automatic restart, or second connection will work under real conditions.

What to expect from YouTube monetization
YouTube’s Help page, checked on October 3, 2026, lists an early-access Partner Program tier at 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the previous 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified long-form watch hours in 365 days or three million qualified Shorts views in 90 days. The same page lists Watch Page ads at 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified long-form watch hours in 365 days or ten million qualified Shorts views in 90 days. These are eligibility thresholds, not a promise that a channel or particular stream will be accepted or earn revenue.
Eligible live streams can earn Watch Page ad and Premium revenue after the creator accepts the Watch Page Monetization Module. Meeting a threshold does not settle the separate review of reused or inauthentic content. A license answers whether you may use material; it does not by itself show that the channel has made it sufficiently original for monetization.
India-specific legal context
India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting describes Part III of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 as covering publishers of news and current affairs on digital media and providing a Code of Ethics and a three-tier grievance mechanism. A 2021 Press Information Bureau announcement also discussed journalistic norms and the Cable Television Networks Programme Code in relation to digital-news publishers. These descriptions do not determine whether a particular YouTube channel, operator, or format is subject to a specific obligation. That depends on facts such as the publisher’s location, business structure, audience territory, and editorial model; obtain current India-specific advice before relying on a legal interpretation.
