You can run a Hindi music playlist as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast by hosting an encoder on an Amazon EC2 instance, feeding it media you have permission to stream, and sending its output to YouTube using the channel’s ingest URL and stream key. The setup is not just an EC2 launch: you also need the right music permissions, a tested encoder configuration, and monitoring and recovery procedures. The official guidance establishes YouTube’s ingest requirements, but not a validated EC2 size, monthly cost, or ready-to-run command for this particular playlist-and-visual setup.
Decide whether EC2 is the right way to run the stream
In this setup, EC2 is the host for an encoder. The encoder reads your authorized media files, combines them with any visual layer you choose, and sends a live feed to YouTube. YouTube then handles playback for viewers on YouTube. This is different from using AWS services to encode, package, and distribute a live channel to viewers yourself.

EC2 gives you control over the encoder, playlist handling, and visuals, but you are responsible for configuring the host and keeping the encoder running. A 24/7 design must account for process failures, lost connections, monitoring, and recovery. Do not describe it as reliable or uninterrupted until you have tested those behaviors in your own environment.

“Hindi music” is not a rights category. Permission must cover the specific musical composition and the specific recording you intend to use. Buying a download or subscribing to a music service does not, by itself, establish that you can retransmit the track continuously as a YouTube livestream.

- Inventory the playlist. For each track, record the recording owner, composition or publishing owner, permission grant, territories, term, and permitted uses. Include the visual material you plan to show.
- Confirm livestream and archive rights. Ask whether the grant covers continuous livestream use, the stream archive or VOD, your target territories, and monetization if relevant. A license for personal listening or a different use may not cover these.
- Ask about Content ID allowlisting. Ask each relevant owner whether your channel needs to be added to its Content ID allowlist, and obtain confirmation before going live.
YouTube’s livestream terms put the responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions and have permissions checked for your actual catalog and intended use.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A licensed track can still cause an interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted where required; YouTube may replace the broadcast with a placeholder, and continued transmission can lead to a temporary interruption or termination. An archived stream may also receive a Content ID claim after the live broadcast. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
YouTube says music is safe when it is public domain or you have permission from the copyright owner. Its tips to find safe music include resources such as the YouTube Audio Library or Creator Music where applicable. A description calling a track “free” does not prevent a Content ID match. Verify the license and any channel allowlisting rather than relying on a label.

Enable YouTube Live and create the stream
- Enable live streaming in YouTube Studio. If this is the first time the channel is being enabled for live streaming, YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours. Plan that wait before your intended start date. See Create a live stream with an encoder.
- Create or schedule a stream. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule the broadcast and select the encoder workflow. Note the ingest server URL and stream key shown for the stream.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it as a credential: put it only in the encoder configuration, restrict access to that configuration, and do not publish it or include it in screenshots. If you believe it has been exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder before resuming.
- Keep the stream details available. Record which YouTube stream or event the encoder is meant to feed, so an operator can confirm the right destination during setup and recovery.
Prepare EC2 and the encoder without guessing at a recipe
Put only media you are authorized to stream on the EC2 host. Choose an encoder and a way to supply the playlist and visual layer, then test how that software behaves at track boundaries, when a file is missing, and when the process or network connection fails. The official sources cited here do not establish an exact EC2 instance type, playlist format, visual-loop method, or validated FFmpeg command for this Hindi playlist workflow. Those are implementation choices, not settings that can safely be copied as a proven recipe.
Before choosing an instance, establish the source resolution and frame rate, the intended output settings, whether video processing is required, and the host’s network capacity. Check current AWS pricing for your chosen region and configuration. Keep compute, storage, network transfer, and any other AWS services as separate line items; do not infer a monthly EC2 bill from a managed-service example.
Set the encoder to YouTube’s published requirements
YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension of RTMP. Its current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265, or AV1 for video; AAC or MP3 for audio; constant bitrate (CBR); and a two-second keyframe interval, with intervals no longer than four seconds. For stereo audio it lists 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps. Confirm the current requirements on YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions page when configuring your encoder, because platform recommendations can change.

Do not select a higher resolution or bitrate just because the source file permits it. The encoder must sustain the chosen output and YouTube must receive a compatible feed. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the intended production and monitoring stream health.

Run a test before announcing the continuous broadcast. Check the encoder, the incoming YouTube preview, and the stream health indicators. Exercise the same playlist and visual arrangement you expect to use; a brief test with a different file will not reveal every boundary or playback issue.
- Listen for silence, clipping, abrupt level changes, or gaps between tracks.
- Check the visual layer, audio-video synchronization, and any transitions between files.
- Confirm the encoder remains active through multiple playlist transitions and that YouTube continues to receive the feed.
- Review stream-health warnings and check that the rights owner’s allowlist confirmation covers the channel and catalog where needed.
- Simulate or observe a dropped connection and a stopped encoder, then document how the operator detects the failure and restores the stream.
Use a process supervisor or equivalent host-level mechanism to detect an encoder exit and restart it, and arrange monitoring so a human or alerting system can notice a stalled or unhealthy stream. The exact supervisor, alert setup, playlist loop, and restart policy depend on your chosen software and deployment; no specific configuration for them is established here. Test recovery rather than assuming that a process restart restores a healthy YouTube broadcast.

Understand rights, monetization, and the AWS cost boundary
Copyright clearance and monetization are separate
Rights clearance answers whether you may use the tracks and visuals. Monetization is a separate YouTube decision. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams and evaluates channel-level content for originality and authenticity, not just whether an encoder stays online. On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material falls under its “inauthentic content” policy. A looping music playlist is not guaranteed to be monetized; review the current YouTube channel monetization policies and assess the channel’s content as a whole. Copyright rules continue to apply independently.
Do not use an AWS managed-service example as an EC2 quote
AWS’s Live Streaming on AWS deployment page gives an example of approximately $69.74 for a one-hour SD-540p event with approximately 1,000 viewers in US East (N. Virginia): about $2.50 for encoding and packaging and $67.24 for 791 GB of distribution. That is a scoped example for an AWS managed live-streaming deployment, not a monthly EC2 encoder estimate and not a forecast of YouTube’s viewer-delivery costs. See AWS’s deployment planning page.

A simple EC2 encoder pushing a contribution feed to YouTube solves a different problem from AWS’s example architecture. AWS describes live-channel workflows using services such as MediaLive, MediaPackage or MediaStore, and CloudFront to process and distribute video to viewers. Those services should not be conflated with an EC2 instance sending one stream to YouTube; see AWS’s video-on-demand and live-streaming documentation. To estimate your own EC2 spend, price the chosen region, instance runtime, storage, network use, and any managed services against your actual workload. No exact monthly total is established here.
