To run recorded coaching classes as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast from the cloud, use a cloud video playout service to loop the recordings and send an encoder feed to YouTube. Enable live streaming on the channel, create a YouTube stream, give the cloud encoder the YouTube server URL and stream key, check its preview, then start the broadcast. The cloud service handles playback and transmission; YouTube provides the live watch page.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before the planned launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming access guidance.
- Recorded classes you are allowed to rebroadcast. Check the rights for the full recording, including instructor and participant appearances, slides, music, and other third-party material. Live content must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; the platform documentation does not establish a special exemption for prerecorded coaching classes. Review YouTube’s live-streaming rules.
- A cloud playout service or your own cloud encoder. This schedules and plays the recordings, then sends the stream to YouTube.
- A plan for privacy and continuity. Decide whether the classes may be public, who can access them, how to respond to a failed source file or encoder restart, and when the broadcast should stop.
Choose how to stream from the cloud
For a YouTube-only continuous broadcast, a managed prerecorded-video playout service is the most direct route: it runs the playlist and sends the live feed without requiring a computer at the coaching centre to stay on. YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 streams of prerecorded videos. Check the provider’s current pricing, service regions, playlist controls, restart behavior, and support before committing; those details are not established by YouTube’s listing. Custom cloud infrastructure
A custom pipeline can give an organization more control, but it is not the same as choosing a ready-made playlist service. AWS documents a setup using MediaLive for encoding, MediaPackage for packaging and origination, and CloudFront for viewer delivery. Google Cloud’s Live Stream API accepts live SRT or RTMP input, transcodes it to HLS or DASH, and saves output to Cloud Storage. Its overview does not establish a direct YouTube output or a prerecorded playlist scheduler, so additional configuration or an encoder stage may be needed. Local encoder as a fallback
YouTube lists OBS as open-source streaming and recording software. OBS can encode a local production, but it is not itself a cloud-hosted 24/7 playlist service: the computer and its internet connection must remain available for the stream. YouTube’s encoder directory identifies both OBS and cloud options.

Prepare and schedule the coaching classes
- Audit rights and privacy. Confirm permission to replay each class and all embedded material. Remove or obtain permission for music, images, slides, or other content you do not control. Consider whether participant names, questions, or personal information should be edited out before broadcasting.
- Check the media files. Play each recording from beginning to end, verify audio and video, and note the title and intended order. Review the chosen service’s accepted formats and file limits. If it converts files, inspect the resulting playback before relying on a long playlist.
- Build the playlist and schedule. Set the order and repeat behavior in the cloud service. Confirm how it handles transitions, schedule changes, a failed file, and an encoder restart; these controls vary by provider and should be verified directly.
- Decide the audience setting. Choose the appropriate visibility and make sure the YouTube title, description, and schedule accurately describe the recorded classes. Do not assume that a live watch page makes a class private.
Create the YouTube Live stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and enter the Live Control Room. Create a stream or schedule a broadcast, then copy the server URL and stream key provided for that stream. The exact labels may vary as YouTube updates Studio.
- In the cloud encoder’s output settings, select its YouTube preset if available. Otherwise, enter the YouTube server URL and stream key in the corresponding fields. YouTube’s setup guidance states: “To start streaming, enter your YouTube Live server URL and stream key into your encoder.” YouTube Help: create a live stream with an encoder.
- Choose RTMPS when supported. YouTube describes RTMPS as RTMP carried over SSL/TLS, connecting on port 443 to a valid YouTube ingest endpoint. Read the RTMPS ingestion guide.
- Keep the stream key confidential. Treat it like a password: do not show it in tutorial screenshots, shared documents, public repositories, or messages to people who do not need it. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Start the encoder and wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Check both picture and sound, verify the right playlist item is playing, and only then select Go live if the broadcast is scheduled to begin.
Monitor the continuous broadcast and stop it safely
During the stream, monitor the cloud service’s encoder/output status and the YouTube Live Control Room preview. Confirm that audio remains audible, the image is present, and the playlist advances as intended. Have a response ready for an encoder restart, expired or replaced stream key, broken source file, and loss of cloud connectivity. YouTube’s setup pages describe the connection workflow; they do not guarantee uptime for a third-party playout service.
For a planned stop, stop the encoder from sending content and end the broadcast in Live Control Room. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a single broadcast can run indefinitely: check the current limits and archive needs in YouTube Studio when designing the schedule. YouTube’s encoder instructions.

Estimate costs without mistaking a viewer-delivery pipeline for a YouTube feed
For a YouTube-only destination, budget for the selected cloud playout or encoding service and its applicable storage and outbound-traffic terms. A separate viewer CDN is relevant if you also deliver a stream to your own website or app; do not automatically include one merely because a cloud architecture example uses it.
AWS’s published example is USD 69.74 for a one-hour event with approximately 1,000 viewers at SD-540p, using US East (N. Virginia), standard pricing, and its stated bitrate and 99% cache/hit-ratio assumptions. The example allocates USD 1.99 to MediaLive, USD 0.11 to MediaPackage ingest, USD 0.40 to packaging/origination, and USD 67.24 to CloudFront distribution. It is an illustrative AWS viewer-delivery pipeline, not an India quote or a price for sending a YouTube-only encoder feed. Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is unavailable in Studio: verify the channel and check for restrictions; enable access early because first-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube shows no incoming signal: check that the cloud encoder is running, the correct server URL and current stream key are entered, and the selected output uses the intended YouTube stream.
- Connection fails despite correct credentials: use the valid YouTube ingest endpoint and choose RTMPS if the encoder supports it; RTMPS uses TLS on port 443.
- Preview is present but audio or video is wrong: inspect the source file and the encoder’s selected input/output settings, then test the affected recording before returning to the full playlist.
- Playlist stops or repeats the wrong item: review playlist order and repeat settings, then check provider guidance for behavior after a failed file or restart.
- Broadcast ends unexpectedly: check cloud encoder status and connectivity, then verify whether the stream key changed or the service restarted. Reconnect with the current key and confirm a fresh preview before going live again.
- Copyright claim or privacy concern: pause or end the broadcast while you check rights and permissions for the complete recording and embedded material. Do not assume prerecorded classes are exempt from YouTube’s rules.
