You can run a continuous YouTube temple livestream by sending prerecorded video or a playlist through an encoder, then keeping that encoder feed running. The encoder may be a local computer, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service. Before going live, confirm the channel is eligible, clear the rights to every video and audio track, configure YouTube Studio and the encoder, and decide how you will monitor interruptions and handle archives.
What a 24/7 prerecorded livestream involves
An encoder is the bridge between prerecorded programming and YouTube Live. You create or schedule a broadcast in YouTube Studio, enter its server URL and stream key in the encoder, and start the program. YouTube’s Live Control Room then shows the incoming preview and stream status. YouTube documents a 24/7 broadcast model, but that describes the technical setup—not blanket approval of every channel or every program. Check channel eligibility and content rights first
Confirm the channel can livestream
YouTube’s current live-streaming start guide says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. Livestream content must also comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Check YouTube Studio and the current help pages before launch, since eligibility and enforcement can change.

Clear every part of the program
Confirm that the temple has the necessary rights for every video, image, music track, and recording in the rotation. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can trigger a warning and placeholder image; if the matched material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even when you have a license, the rightsholder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask about allowlisting before relying on licensed material. YouTube explains these outcomes in its guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
If you choose to archive a livestream, YouTube says Content ID claims on the archived stream are made after it ends. Copyright clearance should therefore cover both the live broadcast and any resulting archive.

Set up and test the broadcast
- Prepare the programming. Assemble only content whose picture and sound are cleared for livestreaming. Load the video or playlist in the chosen encoder. Check transitions, audio levels, and what happens when the final file ends; do not assume every encoder repeats or resumes playback the same way.
- Create or schedule the YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule one. Set the audience, privacy, title, and other metadata. Scheduling can let viewers set reminders and gives the operator a shareable URL. Follow YouTube’s encoder workflow for the current interface.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into the corresponding encoder settings. Keep the stream key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to the broadcast.
- Run a test before public promotion. Start the encoder and inspect the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Confirm that video and audio are present, playlist transitions work, and the feed behaves as intended when a file ends or the connection drops. The YouTube setup materials explain how to connect an encoder; they do not certify a particular playlist or restart configuration for temple use.
- Go live and assign monitoring. Once the preview and status are correct, start the broadcast. Assign a responsible person or a documented operating process to notice interruptions, policy warnings, copyright notices, and failed restarts. The staffing and redundancy plan depends on local network and operational circumstances; the cited materials provide no universal uptime figure.
Plan archives separately from continuous viewing
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its documentation does not promise automatic archiving for a session longer than 12 hours. If archives matter, choose deliberately between one persistent live destination, shorter sessions that can be archived, or a combination. Test the intended schedule and inspect the resulting archive in the channel before depending on it; do not assume a multi-day stream will produce the archive behavior you want. Troubleshoot common interruptions
- YouTube receives no video: Check that the encoder is running, that it has the correct server URL and stream key, and that the network connection is active. Then inspect the Live Control Room preview and status.
- The feed stops when a video ends: Check the encoder’s playlist and repeat behavior. Test the end-of-file transition; playback and restart controls depend on the encoder or service you selected.
- The stream shows a warning or placeholder: Review the notice for a third-party content match. Confirm the rights for the matched material and, if licensed, ask the rightsholder whether the channel must be allowlisted through Content ID. A license by itself may not prevent an interruption.
- A livestream restriction prevents launch: Check channel verification and live-stream standing in YouTube Studio, including whether a restriction occurred in the preceding 90 days. Follow YouTube’s current eligibility guidance and advice on avoiding live-stream restrictions.
- The desired archive is missing or incomplete: Check the session length and the archive shown on the channel. Automatic archiving is specified for streams under 12 hours, not longer sessions; use a tested shorter-session strategy if separate archives are needed.
