You can broadcast prerecorded Roblox gameplay replays continuously on YouTube Live by sending the video through a live-stream encoder. First confirm your channel can livestream, create a stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, and give the encoder the stream’s server URL and stream key. You can run the encoder on your own computer, or use a cloud service so your home computer does not have to stay on. This is prerecorded playout—not a person actively playing Roblox live.
Choose how the replay will run
There are two practical approaches. A local encoder gives you direct access to your video files and stream settings, but your computer, encoder, storage, and internet connection must keep working. A hosted playout service runs the prerecorded video in the cloud; check its cost and terms, how it handles stream keys and archives, and what monitoring or recovery it provides. YouTube’s encoder guidance lists Gyre as a cloud option for 24/7 prerecorded video; that listing is not an endorsement or evidence of a commercial relationship.

For a local setup, YouTube Live accepts encoder feeds, and YouTube describes encoders as suitable for gameplay and overlays. Encoder menus and settings differ, so use the settings supported by your chosen encoder and the current YouTube guidance rather than copying values from an unrelated setup.

Check channel access and prepare your replays
Confirm livestream eligibility
- YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days.
- YouTube states a minimum age of 16 for livestreaming.
- First-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours. Enable it before the day you want the broadcast to begin.
Check the video and audio files
- Make sure the replay files are available to the encoder for the entire run. For a local setup, verify that the files open and play before scheduling or starting the stream.
- Check audio as well as video. A replay can appear to be running while its audio is silent, clipped, or not the audio you intended to publish.
- Decide whether the stream will repeat one file or cycle through a playlist. If you use a playlist, confirm that the transition from one file to the next behaves as intended in a test.
- For longer local events, YouTube’s streaming tips recommend checking the local archive file’s integrity and confirming that it is growing during the event. This is a useful health check, not a substitute for watching the stream.
Create the YouTube Live stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create a stream and choose the appropriate visibility for setup. A private or unlisted test lets you check playback without making the test public.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Enter both in the encoder’s YouTube or custom-server connection settings. The server URL identifies where the feed is sent; the stream key identifies the stream. Treat the key like a password: do not post it, include it in a public screenshot, or share it with someone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Select the replay source. In the encoder, choose the video file or playlist you prepared. Set its playback behavior to repeat or cycle if you want continuous playout, and verify that the encoder is sending both the intended picture and sound.
- Start with a short private or unlisted test. Check the Live Control Room preview and the watch page. Confirm video, audio, transitions, and playback on the devices your intended viewers are likely to use.
- Start the public broadcast only after the test looks right. Keep the encoder running and monitor the actual stream; an encoder showing a running status does not prove viewers are receiving healthy audio and video.
YouTube’s current help information says initial livestream activation can take up to 24 hours. Allow for that delay when planning a first broadcast.

Keep a continuous stream healthy
Monitor the feed, not just the encoder
YouTube recommends continuously monitoring audio and video quality. Check the stream preview and the viewer-facing watch page periodically, and have a way to notice if the source stops, the connection drops, or the audio becomes unavailable. A local setup also depends on the computer and network staying available; a hosted service moves playout off your computer, but you should still understand how the provider reports interruptions and handles recovery.
Plan around long broadcasts and archives
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that a single 24-hour broadcast will become one complete archive. Check the current Live Control Room behavior and plan separately if you need a record of the full run—for example, by retaining the original replay files or arranging shorter broadcast sessions.

Protect the stream key
Anyone with access to the key may be able to send a feed to the stream. Keep it out of public posts and limit access to people who need it. If it is exposed, use YouTube’s current Live Control Room controls to replace or reset it, then update the encoder with the new key.

YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for the necessary rights on the creator: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” The terms also require compliance with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and applicable laws.

- Use replays you are entitled to broadcast. If footage includes another person’s gameplay, get the permissions needed for this use.
- Check the rights for music and other third-party material captured in the replay. Permission to play or hear something in a game does not by itself establish that you may rebroadcast it on YouTube.
- Check the current Roblox Terms of Use and any applicable creator rules. The Roblox Terms of Use state an effective date of May 19, 2026, and say Roblox intellectual property may not be used except as the terms allow or the owner separately permits.
Roblox’s Video Highlight Guidelines address highlights displayed on an experience’s details page, including restrictions on commercial videos and monetizing those highlights with outside-vendor advertisements. Those feature-specific rules should not be treated as if they automatically govern every ordinary YouTube livestream. General Roblox terms and applicable policies still matter.
Understand the monetization risk of replay loops
Permission to use footage and eligibility to earn money from it are separate questions. YouTube says gameplay monetization depends on commercial-use rights granted by the game publisher. It warns that videos simply showing someone playing a game for extended periods may not be accepted for monetization; its example of gameplay that may qualify includes step-by-step commentary tied to the live action that adds instructional or educational value.

YouTube’s channel monetization policy also warns against repetitive, interchangeable content with little educational value, commentary, narrative, or variation. The review applies to the channel as a whole. A loop of your own Roblox replays is not automatically guaranteed monetization. Meaningful original commentary, context, instruction, or substantive variety may strengthen the content, but does not guarantee approval.
