You can run a 24/7 YouTube stream of fighting-game tournament replays by arranging rights-cleared video into a continuous playout feed and sending it to YouTube Live through an encoder. Before you start, confirm that you can rebroadcast the tournament recording, game footage, production, commentary, and music; having a replay file or permission to upload a VOD does not by itself establish those rights.
What you need for a continuous replay stream
The setup has three parts: footage and audio you are allowed to rebroadcast, a playout arrangement that sequences the replays, and an encoder that sends the resulting audio-video feed to YouTube Live. YouTube describes encoder streaming as a common option for gameplay and events, including productions with overlays or hardware inputs. The playlist or looping arrangement is your playout setup, not a YouTube feature.

- Rights-cleared recordings: Identify who controls each recording and what permissions apply to the game footage, broadcast production, commentary, music, and other included material.
- Playout: Put the replay files in the intended order and decide how transitions, breaks, labels, and overlays should appear. Verify that your chosen method can advance through the files and deal with a failed item.
- YouTube Live encoder: Configure an encoder to send the feed using YouTube’s current ingestion settings. OBS provides an official help portal with streaming and encoding guidance: OBS Help.
- Monitoring: Plan for someone—or a system you have verified—to detect encoder, network, stream-status, and copyright problems and respond to them.
Clear the footage and audio before streaming
Permission is specific to the material and intended use. Check the agreements and rights holders for the tournament recording, game footage, event broadcast production, commentary, music, and any other third-party content. Confirm that the permission covers continuous live rebroadcast, the territories where viewers may watch, the intended duration, and any plans to keep an archive or monetize it. The legal answer depends on the particular rights and jurisdiction; a platform policy is not a legal determination for a specific replay.
YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content, including another live broadcast. If a match is detected, a placeholder may replace the live image; continued use can cause a temporary interruption or termination, and a strike may result. YouTube advises creators with a license to ask the rights owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist. A license alone does not guarantee that a stream will continue uninterrupted without allowlisting, and archived live streams may receive Content ID claims after the stream ends. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Keep written permissions accessible. Test the exact files you intend to play, but remember that a clean test or unlisted stream does not replace clearance, and platform scanning may still interrupt a stream.
Check channel eligibility and configure YouTube Live
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days to enable live streaming. Check the channel’s current status before building the playout schedule. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains the encoder workflow; use the current YouTube Studio interface and encoder settings when creating the broadcast.

- Prepare the replay feed. Arrange only cleared files in sequence. Decide whether the feed will run continuously between matches, use interstitials, or repeat a playlist, and verify those transitions in your selected playout method.
- Create or schedule the live broadcast. In YouTube Studio, set up the live event and connect the encoder using the stream settings currently shown for the broadcast. Keep the stream key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Set the encoder output. YouTube’s surfaced settings guidance recommends RTMPS, H.264, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval, with four seconds as the maximum. Check YouTube’s current official settings for the bitrate and resolution appropriate to your chosen output; do not assume one bitrate applies to every resolution and frame rate.
- Run a private or unlisted operational test where appropriate. Confirm the video and audio are present, the feed appears in Live Control Room, and the intended files play in the right order. Check those files for Content ID matches, while remembering that this test does not establish rights or guarantee uninterrupted public streaming.
- Start the public stream and monitor it. Watch the encoder, network connection, YouTube stream status, and any warnings. If the stream stops, check YouTube Studio for restrictions or strikes and inspect the encoder and network before restarting.
Encoder settings can change. YouTube’s surfaced settings result recommends the values above, but consult the current official settings shown for your stream before going live.
Choose how to keep the replay feed running
YouTube documents encoder streaming, but the specific way to loop local replay files is an operational choice. YouTube’s documentation does not establish that a dedicated computer, capture card, or particular machine is mandatory for playing existing files. Select a method based on how much control and maintenance you can provide, and verify its actual scheduling and recovery behavior rather than assuming it will run unattended.

- Local playout and encoder: Gives you direct control over files and production, while leaving you responsible for keeping the playout, encoder, computer, and network available. A dedicated computer is optional, not a YouTube requirement.
- Hosted playout or cloud encoder: May suit an operator who does not want a home computer running continuously. Before relying on a service, verify continuous sequencing, current YouTube Live and RTMPS compatibility, handling of failed files, and recovery after a dropped connection. Hosting does not grant rebroadcast rights or avoid Content ID checks.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube stream made from uploaded replay videos, StreamNeo runs the looping playout in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It supports uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it also attempts automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. It does not provide rights to replay tournament footage, so clear all content first.
The first day is free with no card (one free day per account). Monthly service is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. See StreamNeo pricing for available billing periods and details.

Troubleshoot common interruptions
- YouTube will not enable live streaming: Check that the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restriction from the past 90 days.
- The encoder cannot connect: Confirm that the stream key matches the event, that the encoder is using the current YouTube ingestion settings, and that the network can reach the configured RTMPS endpoint.
- The stream has no video or audio: Check the playout output and encoder input, then verify audio and video in Live Control Room with a test before returning to public viewing.
- A placeholder appears or the stream is interrupted: Review YouTube’s copyright warning and Studio status. If the detected material is licensed, contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting; a license without allowlisting may still not prevent interruption.
- The feed stops advancing between matches: Check the playlist order and the selected playout method’s handling of end-of-file or failed media. Do not assume looping or automatic recovery unless you have verified it.
- The stream drops after a network or encoder fault: Check the encoder, network path, and YouTube status, then restart according to your operating procedure. YouTube’s stream documentation describes transmission resources, not a guarantee of automatic recovery or uninterrupted service.
Keep the stream sustainable and compliant
A 24/7 schedule is an operating commitment, not just a start button. Assign responsibility for checking stream health and responding to copyright notices, encoder failures, network interruptions, and terminated broadcasts. Maintain a record of the permissions covering each replay and its included audio, and review the stream’s status in YouTube Studio when problems arise. Neither an encoder nor a cloud host changes the rights required to retransmit the material.
