You can use JioFiber to send a 24/7 YouTube lofi livestream, but the plan’s advertised download speed does not prove that your connection can sustain it. First check your plan’s terms and expected data use, measure upload performance at the streaming location, and choose an encoder bitrate that leaves headroom. Then test the stream, secure livestream rights for every track and visual, and plan for power, internet interruptions, and YouTube’s archive limits.
Can you stream 24/7 on JioFiber?
Technically, yes, if the connection at your premises can reliably sustain the stream’s upload bitrate and your plan terms permit your intended use. That is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service: local upload capacity, household traffic, power and ISP outages all matter. Jio’s published terms also put conditions on unlimited use, so check the current terms for your specific prepaid or postpaid plan before operating a continuous or monetized channel.

Jio’s Postpaid FAQ says its unlimited plans are for home use and warns that misuse, fraudulent, unauthorized or commercial use may lead to discontinuation. Its current postpaid terms say consumption beyond 3300 GB in a bill cycle is treated as misuse and plan data benefits may be withdrawn. Prepaid terms describe a 3300 GB threshold per 30-day recharge cycle. These terms do not establish whether Jio would classify your particular channel as commercial use; review the terms and ask Jio if you need a definitive answer.
Estimate total monthly traffic before you start. For illustration, a constant 5 Mbps stream transfers about 54 GB per day, or roughly 1.6 TB over 30 days, before protocol overhead, other household use, or local recordings are counted. This is a calculation, not a measurement of your JioFiber service. If your household uses substantial data too, the total can approach the applicable threshold.

What upload speed do you need?
Upload capacity—not the download-speed headline—is the relevant connection measure. YouTube says a stream’s total bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. Shared household use can reduce the bandwidth available to the encoder, and a connectivity disruption can break the stream. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
Use repeated upload tests at the actual streaming location, including busy periods when other people in the home are online. A speed test is only a snapshot. Choose a bitrate that remains below the dependable upload capacity with YouTube’s recommended headroom and enough additional room for network variation and other traffic. Then run an unlisted or private test stream and check YouTube’s stream health over a representative period before going public.

Choose encoder settings you can sustain
For H.264, YouTube’s recommended ingest settings include 5 Mbps at 1080p/30fps and 3 Mbps at 720p/30fps. These are platform recommendations, not a promise that a particular JioFiber connection will sustain either rate. YouTube also documents H.265 and AV1 ingestion, with recommended rates depending on resolution and frame rate. Consult its current encoder settings guidance for the settings that match your chosen codec and format.
For a mostly static or slowly animated lofi scene, a high frame rate may not add much. Start with a modest resolution and frame rate that your tested upload can hold steadily; prioritize a stable broadcast over a higher setting that causes dropped frames or stream-health warnings. Keep the encoder’s total output bitrate—including audio—within your available bandwidth.

Set up and test the broadcast
- Check the connection and plan. Confirm whether your JioFiber service is prepaid or postpaid, review the current usage and use terms, and estimate the stream plus household data consumption. Measure upload performance at the encoder’s location, including during busy periods.
- Create the YouTube stream. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream. Copy the server URL and stream key into your encoder. Keep the stream key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your channel.
- Configure the encoder. Select a supported codec, resolution, frame rate and bitrate based on YouTube’s current encoder guidance and your measured upload capacity. Leave bandwidth headroom rather than setting the encoder at the connection’s peak test result.
- Run a private or unlisted test. Check YouTube’s stream health and watch for errors or instability over a representative period. Repeat at times when the household is likely to be busy. Do not assume a brief successful test proves uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
- Prepare recovery. Use wired Ethernet where practical. Configure the computer not to sleep, and avoid disruptive updates while live. Write down how to check stream health and restart the encoder or stream if it stops. Test any mobile-data or alternate-ISP failover separately and check its usage terms.
Clear music and visual rights before going live
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including copyrighted material, and may interrupt or terminate a stream when it detects it. An active live-stream copyright strike is also among YouTube’s listed restrictions. Review YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and live-stream restrictions.
For every track, loop, sample and visual, obtain permission that explicitly covers continuous YouTube livestreaming and monetization if you intend to monetize. “Royalty-free” by itself does not establish that a license grants those rights. Keep copies of licenses, receipts and permission records so you can verify the permitted use if a claim occurs.

Plan for outages and power interruptions
A 24/7 stream depends on the encoder, router and optical network equipment staying powered, as well as the ISP connection remaining available. Jio’s detailed terms place electricity, alternative power arrangements and related equipment at the premises under the customer’s responsibility. A UPS sized for the actual load can keep the router and encoder running through some brief local power interruptions; runtime depends on the connected equipment. For a self-managed setup, decide in advance who will notice a failure and how they will reconnect the encoder. If you use a second connection as failover, test it with the chosen bitrate and check its data limits and service terms rather than assuming it will work when needed.

Will YouTube save a 24-hour livestream?
Do not rely on one complete YouTube archive for a stream that runs continuously for 24 hours. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. Its guidance says, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” YouTube recommends keeping a local recording backup; see its archive live streams guidance.
If an archive matters, plan shorter sessions and test the end-and-restart process you intend to use. Record locally as well, and make sure the computer has enough storage for the recording duration and bitrate. A succession of sessions may support archive management, but this guidance does not establish a guaranteed way to make one uninterrupted 24/7 YouTube broadcast or a complete single archive.
Common problems and what to check
- Stream health warns of insufficient bandwidth or frames drop: lower the output bitrate, resolution or frame rate; pause other heavy household uploads; and retest at the same location. Compare stable upload results with the full stream bitrate, leaving headroom.
- The stream stops when power fails: check whether the encoder, router and network equipment are all on backup power. A UPS helps only for its available runtime and cannot restore an ISP-side outage.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast or shows a copyright issue: stop using the disputed material and review the license for the exact track, sample and visual, including livestream and monetization permissions. Follow YouTube’s notice and restriction guidance.
- The broadcast is live but no full archive appears: check the stream duration. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured; use a local recording and plan shorter sessions if archives are important.
- Service or data benefits are questioned: recheck the current prepaid or postpaid terms that apply to your account, your bill-cycle or recharge-cycle consumption, and Jio’s restrictions on use. Published terms do not resolve how Jio will classify every individual channel.
