You can loop Telugu devotional songs in OBS by adding a local recording as a looping Media Source, or by building a VLC playlist, then connecting OBS to a YouTube encoder stream. Before going live, confirm that you have permission to livestream every recording, test the audio and stream health, and plan around YouTube’s archive behavior: streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but a complete archive of one 24-hour broadcast is not assured.
Before you start: prepare the channel, files and connection
- YouTube channel: it must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before your planned launch. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance
- Music rights: use original recordings, recordings you have properly licensed for livestreaming, or other content for which you have the necessary rights. A devotional subject or owning a copy of a song does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast the recording.
- Files and visuals: prepare local audio/video files and an authorized still image or video for the scene. If you plan a playlist, install VLC; OBS’s VLC Video source is available only when VLC is installed.
- Reliable upstream connection: choose an output bitrate your actual upload connection can sustain, leaving headroom for fluctuations. Do not use the entire measured upload speed as the stream bitrate.
Clear the songs for a live broadcast
YouTube requires creators to have the rights needed for live content, including music licensing rights. The religious or devotional nature of a song does not settle the copyright status of a particular composition or recording. Check the permissions for each recording and retain the relevant records. If a rights holder requires a channel to be allowlisted in Content ID, arrange that before streaming.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content. A match can cause a placeholder to appear, interrupt the broadcast or terminate it. Even a recording you are licensed to use may be interrupted if the relevant rights holder has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID. For a preflight list, use the copyright safety checklist; it does not replace permission from the rights holder.

Choose how OBS will loop the songs
| OBS source | Best for | Loop behavior | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Media Source | One local media file | Enable Loop to restart the file after it ends. | Confirm the file plays with sound and the loop is enabled. |
| VLC Video | A playlist of local files | Enable Loop Playlist; shuffle is also available. | Install VLC first. Confirm the playlist order and that each item plays correctly. |
A single-file loop is the simpler setup. Use VLC Video when you want a list of songs to play in order or shuffle. These are playback options, not uptime guarantees: OBS or YouTube documentation does not establish that a local computer will stay online continuously without monitoring.

Build the looping scene in OBS
- Create a scene. In OBS, add a scene for the devotional stream. Choose the visual viewers should see, such as an authorized still image, text overlay or video.
- Add the media source. In the scene’s Sources panel, select + and add Media Source for one file. Browse to the local file and enable Loop. For several files, add VLC Video, create or select the playlist, and enable Loop Playlist.
- Arrange the sources. Check the source order so text and other overlays appear above the background image or video. Make sure the visual fits the canvas and is not obscured.
- Verify sound locally. Start playback and watch the OBS audio meters. If the meters do not move, check that the intended source includes audio and that the correct audio device is selected in OBS.
- Let a full cycle run. Confirm playback reaches the end and restarts, or that the playlist advances and loops as intended. This catches missing files, silent tracks and playlist-order problems before a public stream.
Create the YouTube encoder stream and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live, then create or schedule an encoder stream in Live Control Room.
- Copy the stream server URL and stream key shown for that broadcast. The key authorizes an encoder to send video to your channel; treat it like a password and do not share it publicly.
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter or select the server and stream key. Use YouTube’s RTMPS connection when available; YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension of RTMP.
- Apply the settings, return to the main OBS window and start streaming when you are ready to test or go live. Confirm that the incoming feed appears in Live Control Room before relying on it.
If you think the key has been exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the key in OBS before streaming again.
Set output quality and test before launch
Set resolution, frame rate and bitrate to match the actual internet connection and the material. YouTube recommends CBR bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval, with keyframes no more than four seconds apart. One listed YouTube setting is 2 Mbps video bitrate for 720p at 30 fps; it is an option in YouTube’s settings guidance, not a universal best setting for every connection or stream.

- Positionable design: Pivot the mic in relation to the sound source to optimize your sound quality thanks to the adjustable desktop stand and track your voice in real time with no-latency monitoring
In OBS, review Settings → Output and Settings → Video to check the encoder output and canvas/output resolution. Avoid choosing a bitrate just because it is the highest value your connection briefly reaches. For a rough upload-time estimate when preparing files, StreamNeo’s upload-time calculator can help estimate how long uploads take; it does not measure your live connection.
- Run a short private or otherwise suitable test before the planned public broadcast.
- Use audio and motion similar to the real stream, rather than testing only a still image if your final scene includes video.
- Check the OBS audio meters and confirm the correct scene and media are active.
- Preview the feed in YouTube Live Control Room and check stream health, audio and picture quality.
- Leave upload-bandwidth headroom and monitor the connection during the run. A speed test is not a guarantee that the same throughput will remain available continuously.
Plan for a 24/7 schedule and the archive
YouTube’s encoder setup guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not support promising that one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will produce a complete archive. If you need recordings, plan the broadcast and any separate local recording around current YouTube behavior, then verify the resulting archive before treating it as complete.

For a long-running local OBS setup, keep the computer, OBS and internet connection running, and check the stream periodically. The cited OBS and YouTube guidance does not establish a 24/7 uptime or crash-recovery guarantee. If a continuous channel is important, plan how you will notice and respond to a stopped encoder, interrupted internet connection or YouTube stream interruption.
Troubleshoot common problems
- OBS is live, but YouTube shows no incoming feed: check that the correct server URL and stream key are set in Settings → Stream, that the stream was created in Live Control Room, and that OBS has started streaming. Reset an exposed key and replace it in OBS.
- The audio meters are not moving: confirm the media file has an audio track, playback is active, and the intended audio source/device is selected. Test the sound before starting the broadcast.
- The song stops instead of restarting: enable Loop on the Media Source. For a list of tracks, use VLC Video and enable Loop Playlist.
- VLC Video is missing from the Sources menu: OBS requires VLC to be installed for that source. Install VLC, then reopen or check OBS before configuring the playlist.
- The picture or audio stutters: lower the output bitrate or resolution to a level the upstream connection can sustain, confirm bandwidth headroom, and retest. Check stream health in Live Control Room.
- A live broadcast is interrupted over music: a third-party Content ID match may have triggered a placeholder, interruption or termination. Verify the rights for the exact recording and whether the rights holder requires channel allowlisting; a devotional theme alone is not clearance.
- The 24-hour stream has no complete archive: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours. Check the channel’s result and use a separate recording plan if a complete copy is essential.
