You can run a continuous nature-sounds broadcast from an Indian Windows VPS by building an OBS scene with rights-cleared audio, configuring the destination’s stream settings, and arranging for OBS to start and reconnect. That setup is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service: confirm the platform permits your use, the VPS can sustain the required encoding and outbound connection, and you have a way to detect and recover from failures.
Before you set up the stream
Choose the destination and check its rules
First choose where you intend to broadcast. Check that platform’s current eligibility and account requirements, rules for continuous streams, supported formats and bitrate limits, and how it handles stream keys. The sources cited here do not establish that any particular platform permits this exact 24/7 use, so confirm its current rules before building the workflow.
Verify the Windows VPS, not just its location
Ask the VPS provider whether your Windows image is supported, whether sustained outbound live streaming is permitted, and what bandwidth or traffic limits apply. Confirm that the plan exposes the graphics, audio and encoding capabilities your OBS setup needs, and assess sustained upload performance on the route to the chosen ingest server. An India-region VPS alone does not establish that the route or instance is suitable.
OBS lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 and a DirectX 10.1-compatible GPU among its basic Windows requirements. Its requirements page, dated 2021-08-25, also cautions that meeting minimum requirements does not by itself mean a system can stream. Check the actual VPS plan’s compatibility and performance rather than assuming a virtual graphics device will work as needed. OBS system requirements

Prepare audio and build an OBS scene
Clear the rights to the recording
Use a recording you made and control, or obtain permission for the specific recording and the intended public livestream on your chosen platform. “Nature sounds” does not itself mean a recording is free to use. Keep the license and attribution terms with the audio asset, and check whether the permission covers your territory, duration, looping or rebroadcasting, and monetization if relevant. Indian copyright materials recognize rights relating to sound recordings and communication to the public; this is a practical rights-clearance check, not legal advice about a particular track. Add a visual and audio source

Install and open OBS on the VPS, then follow its Quick Start process to configure the app for the available hardware and network.

Create a scene with a static or looping image and add the audio source for your ambience. Choose the intended audio device or source explicitly.

Check that the audio meter moves while the recording plays. If it does not, review the selected source and device. Listen to a test output if one is available, and check that playback is audible without clipping.

OBS’s Quick Start Guide describes adding sources and checking audio meters and device selection. A Windows Server VPS may handle audio sessions differently after a remote desktop session ends; the sources here do not establish a universal setting for persistent audio. Test on the actual instance and confirm playback continues after you disconnect.
Configure the stream and test it
Set the destination and output

In OBS, select the destination platform’s service, or choose its custom server option if that is what the platform specifies.

Enter the current stream key from the destination’s live-stream setup. Treat it as a credential: do not share it or expose it in a public recording, screenshot or log.

Set output and bitrate to values allowed by the platform and sustainable by the VPS route. A sound-led stream with a static visual may not need a high video bitrate, but the appropriate value depends on the platform’s limits and your chosen codec and output settings. No universal bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval or audio setting for this use is established by the available official guidance; use the destination’s current specifications and test the actual configuration.

As a reference with a narrow scope, India’s National Informatics Centre states 2–4 Mbps of dedicated network bandwidth per stream for its webcast service. That is NIC guidance for its service, not a universal OBS minimum or assurance that a third-party platform, VPS or network route will work at that rate. NIC Webcast Services: Available Services
Run a test before publishing

Start a private or otherwise suitable test broadcast if the platform offers one, and let it run for several minutes.

Check that the stream appears at the destination, audio is audible, the visual behaves as intended, and OBS is not reporting sustained dropped frames.

Repeat the check after restarting OBS and after rebooting the VPS. Startup and audio behavior are part of the 24/7 workflow, not just setup details.

OBS recommends testing settings before the first stream in its Quick Start Guide. Its troubleshooting guidance says dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain; lowering bitrate or trying another server or service can help diagnose the issue. The page suggests 75% of total upload speed as a starting point in its discussion of lowering bitrate, not as a platform-wide rule or a substitute for measuring stable throughput to your ingest server. Launch OBS with streaming enabled
OBS documents the --startstreaming launch argument, described as “Automatically start streaming.” For an automated Windows launch, OBS says the working directory should point to the folder containing obs64.exe. Configure Windows startup or scheduling for your server setup, and ensure the task runs in the user and session context where OBS and the audio source are available. OBS Launch Parameters
Do not assume a scheduled launch will work simply because OBS starts: verify that the intended scene, audio and destination settings are available after a reboot and after remote disconnection. Validate this on your chosen Windows VPS; there is no single persistent-audio setting established here for every Windows Server image.
Enable reconnect, then add operational monitoring
Enable OBS automatic reconnect in its streaming settings. OBS supports reconnecting after a connection drop, but that is a recovery aid—not a guarantee that OBS, Windows, the VPS or the platform will recover from every failure. A VPS reboot, unavailable audio source, expired or changed key, provider interruption, or platform-side problem may require more than reconnecting.

Decide how you will detect a dead stream, recover after a Windows reboot, protect or renew the stream key, and notify someone who can respond. If you use a watchdog or scheduled relaunch, make sure it does not create duplicate OBS instances or repeatedly publish a broken feed. No monitoring product or tested recovery script is established here, so choose and validate one for your own setup.
