To keep it going around the clock, you also need a plan for restarts and failures: YouTube documents encoder streaming and automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, but does not promise that one broadcast will stay live for 24 hours or longer.
Before you start: check channel access and rights
Confirm that the channel can livestream
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days to livestream. Its guidance also sets a minimum age of 16 for livestreaming. Check your account’s current eligibility in YouTube Studio before preparing a launch, because account-specific restrictions can affect access. YouTube’s livestreaming requirements

Clear the recording, not just the mantra
A devotional subject does not automatically make a particular recording free to rebroadcast. Secure the rights needed for the actual recording and, where applicable, the composition and performance. Check that the permission covers livestreaming, the territories you intend to serve, and the intended duration; retain written records.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a broadcast. Even if you have a license, the stream may be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Ask the rights holder about allowlisting before going live. Create the YouTube stream and connect an encoder
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. Create a stream or schedule it in Live Control Room. Scheduling gives you a watch-page link to share ahead of time.
- Copy the connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown by YouTube into the encoder’s server and stream-key fields. Treat the key as a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Set up the audio and visual. Route the rights-cleared mantra recording into the encoder and choose a still image or gentle animation for the video. Confirm that you have permission for the visual as well as the audio.
- Start the encoder, then check the preview. Wait for the feed to appear in Live Control Room. Check that the audio is audible and not distorted, the visual is correct, and stream health is acceptable; then select Go live.
YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe this create-or-schedule, enter-the-key, send-the-feed, preview, and go-live workflow. YouTube: Set up your encoder for live streaming
Choose settings for a stable audio-first stream
Use the encoder’s settings that match the feed you are sending. YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), AAC or MP3 audio, and a two-second keyframe interval; it says not to exceed four seconds. Its listed stereo audio settings include 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps.
| Setting | YouTube guidance or example | Practical use |
|---|---|---|
| Ingest protocol | RTMPS recommended | Choose RTMPS if your encoder offers it. |
| Video codec | H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 are documented | Choose a codec supported by both your encoder and selected YouTube workflow. |
| Frame rate | Up to 60 fps | A static or gently animated image does not inherently need a high frame rate; use a setting your encoder and connection can sustain. |
| Bitrate mode | Constant bitrate (CBR) | Use CBR and test for a stable feed rather than choosing a bitrate your upload connection cannot maintain. |
| Keyframes | 2 seconds recommended; no more than 4 seconds | Set the interval to 2 seconds if available. |
| Audio | AAC or MP3; stereo guidance lists 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps | Listen to a test for clipping, silence, channel imbalance, and unwanted gaps. |
| H.264 video bitrate examples | 1080p at 30 fps: 14 Mbps; 720p at 30 fps: 8 Mbps | These are YouTube recommendations, not universal minimum upload speeds. Choose according to resolution, encoder capacity, and sustained upload bandwidth. |
Run a speed test and test with representative audio and motion before launch. Monitor Live Control Room’s stream-health messages while the stream is running. A lower resolution or frame rate may be adequate for an audio stream with a static image, but YouTube does not prescribe a Lakshmi-mantra profile. Bitrate settings alone cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. YouTube’s recommended encoder settings
Plan for 24/7 continuity and YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish what happens to the archive for a single stream lasting 12 hours or longer, nor does it promise that one stream can remain live indefinitely. If an archive matters, plan sessions under 12 hours and check that each completed broadcast appears as expected.
| Approach | Archive implications | Operational trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| One long broadcast | YouTube’s stated automatic-archive condition covers streams under 12 hours; do not assume it applies to a longer session. | Fewer planned restarts, but a long session still needs monitoring and a recovery plan. |
| Planned shorter sessions | Sessions kept under 12 hours fit YouTube’s stated automatic-archive condition. | Requires someone or a system to start the next session. Restarts can interrupt viewer continuity and do not guarantee an always-available channel. |
For unattended operation, decide who or what will respond to a power cut, internet outage, encoder failure, or YouTube termination. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends testing and monitoring, but its cited pages do not specify an approved 24/7 recovery design or uptime guarantee. A desktop encoder also depends on the computer, power, and network remaining available.
Choose an operating method
Do it yourself with an encoder computer
YouTube documents livestreaming through an encoder on a computer but does not prescribe a minimum PC model or specification. Choose a computer capable of reliably handling your selected encoder, audio playback, and video settings; test the complete setup under representative conditions. A computer is only one part of the chain: it does not protect the broadcast from a home power or internet failure. YouTube lists encoder streaming equipment examples, but an audio-first stream may not need a camera, microphone, mixer, or hardware encoder if the recording and visual are prepared already. Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload the recording, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. This is an option for uploaded-video playback, not a camera broadcast, and it does not remove the need to secure music rights or follow YouTube’s rules. Eligible channels may be able to use ads or fan-funding features, but YouTube does not guarantee that every viewer will receive a mid-roll ad. Its channel monetization policies apply to livestreams and call for original, authentic content rather than mass-produced, generic, or repetitive material. An endlessly repeated recording under an unchanged image could raise a policy concern; the exact outcome depends on YouTube’s review of the channel and content, so do not build a plan around assumed monetization. Troubleshoot common stream problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Verify channel status and live access in YouTube Studio. Confirm the channel is verified and has no disqualifying live restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and key, that the key has not been changed, and that the encoder is sending rather than paused. Keep the key private.
- The preview is missing or stream health shows a problem: Check the network connection, encoder output, selected protocol, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate. Run a speed test and reduce settings to a level the connection can sustain.
- Audio is silent, distorted, or stops: Confirm the correct audio source and AAC or MP3 output, then test the recording from beginning to end for silence, clipping, and gaps before restarting.
- The live stream is interrupted for copyright: Review the notice, confirm that your license covers the actual recording and use, and contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. A license does not guarantee uninterrupted delivery if the channel is not allowlisted.
- The computer or stream stops while unattended: Check power, network, encoder status, and any YouTube termination notice. Restarting may restore the broadcast, but no cited YouTube guidance promises automatic recovery or uninterrupted 24/7 operation for a computer-based setup.
