You can keep an Indian music YouTube channel live around the clock without OBS by using a cloud playout service to loop prerecorded videos. The Mac does not have to stay on: upload the media, connect the service to your YouTube channel with a stream key, and start the broadcast. YouTube also supports encoder-based live streaming, but no specific OBS-free Mac encoder workflow is established here. Before you choose either approach, confirm YouTube Live access and secure the rights to rebroadcast every recording and visual.
Choose how the channel will stay live
There are two different ways to send a continuous broadcast. A local encoder sends a live signal from your Mac, so it depends on the Mac staying powered, connected to the internet, and running the encoder. Cloud playout sends uploaded, prerecorded media from remote servers; the Mac can be off after setup. Cloud service availability, cost, monitoring, and recovery depend on the provider, so verify those terms before relying on one.

| Approach | What sends the broadcast | Mac and home connection | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local encoder | An encoder running on the Mac sends the live signal to YouTube. | The Mac must remain powered and connected; a local power or internet interruption can affect the broadcast. | A creator who needs local control or live inputs and can keep the setup running. |
| Cloud playout | A provider’s remote system streams uploaded recordings or a playlist. | The Mac need not stay on after setup. | A prerecorded playlist intended to run continuously without leaving a home computer on. |
YouTube supports encoder streaming, but the available evidence does not establish a particular OBS-free Mac app, its current price, or a tested configuration. Do not assume that a generic encoder recommendation has been verified for your Mac.

Check that the channel can go live
- Verify the YouTube channel and check that it has had no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube also requires live streamers to be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup requirements.
- If this is the channel’s first live stream, request enablement at least 24 hours before the planned start. YouTube for Artists recommends planning that lead time.
- Before announcing a 24/7 launch, check YouTube Studio for the channel’s live-stream status and any restrictions.
Clear the music and visual rights first
Being able to listen to a song does not establish permission to broadcast it. A playlist can involve rights in both the musical composition and the specific sound recording; music videos and artwork can add visual rights. Obtain permission for the actual material, livestream use, and territories where it will be available. If a label or distributor administers the relevant rights, coordinate with it before going live.

YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party matches. A match can interrupt or end a stream. YouTube warns: “If your channel isn’t added to their allowlist, your live stream can be interrupted even if you’ve licensed the third-party content.” Ask the rights holder or its representative to allowlist the channel through Content ID where applicable; a license alone may not prevent an interruption. Review YouTube Help’s copyright guidance for live streams.
Rights clearance does not guarantee monetization, continued availability, or freedom from claims. Platform decisions and the terms of each rights holder still apply.

Prepare and test the continuous stream
- Assemble only cleared media. Put the recordings and any visuals you have permission to rebroadcast into the intended playlist. Check that the sequence has no accidental gaps, blank sections, or abrupt endings.
- Choose local encoding or cloud playout. For a local setup, select an OBS-free Mac encoder only after checking its current macOS compatibility, supported input and output formats, stream-key handling, and restart behavior. Those details are app-specific and are not established by YouTube’s general encoder guidance. For a cloud setup, confirm that the provider accepts your media and playlist, supports the intended continuous broadcast, and explains how it monitors or restarts a stopped stream.
- Connect to YouTube. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and obtain its stream key and server information. Enter those in the encoder or provider’s YouTube connection settings, keeping the key private. Use the platform’s current stream setup details rather than guessing an address or key format.
- Run an unlisted test. YouTube for Artists recommends testing an unlisted stream before going live, especially for high-production or high-investment events. Check audio level and continuity, visuals, playlist order, and what happens when a file ends. Confirm the stream appears correctly in Studio before switching to a public broadcast.
- Monitor the launch. Check YouTube Studio during startup for stream health, warnings, and copyright notices. A 24/7 target is not a guarantee of uninterrupted uptime; know how to locate a stopped stream and who can restart the local or cloud system.
Do not copy bitrate, resolution, or keyframe settings from an unrelated setup: the right values depend on the encoder, media, stream format, and available connection. Use the current recommendations shown by YouTube for the selected stream and the encoder/provider’s documentation, then validate them in an unlisted test. No Mac-specific settings have been verified for this workflow.

When the stream stops or behaves unexpectedly
- The stream will not start: Check channel live eligibility, stream scheduling, and whether the stream key and server details in the sender match the current YouTube Studio event. If first-time access was just requested, allow the recommended 24-hour lead time.
- YouTube interrupts or ends the broadcast: Inspect YouTube Studio for a copyright match or other notice. Resolve the rights issue with the relevant owner; if you have a license, ask whether the channel needs Content ID allowlisting.
- Audio or visuals are missing or out of sequence: Review the media files and playlist in the sending system, then repeat an unlisted test. Check both the source playback and what YouTube receives.
- A local stream stops when the Mac or connection fails: Restore power and connectivity, reopen the encoder, and restart or reconnect the broadcast using the active Studio event details. A local method depends on that computer and its internet connection being available.
- A cloud stream stops: Check the provider dashboard and its documented monitoring and recovery process, then check YouTube Studio for the reason. Do not assume automatic recovery unless the provider explicitly offers it and you have confirmed how it works.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a prerecorded Indian music playlist, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The uploaded videos loop from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Every slot supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. These service features do not replace music-rights clearance or guarantee that YouTube will keep a broadcast available.
