You can run a Hindi music live stream through Restreamer by routing a cleared audio source into Restreamer, adding a YouTube Publication Service with your YouTube stream key, and monitoring the full path. But “24/7” is an operating goal, not an uptime guarantee: YouTube may interrupt streams that match third-party content, and a broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be saved as an archive. Clear the music rights and decide how you will handle recording and recovery before going live.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. YouTube’s requirements include channel verification and no live-stream restrictions during the previous 90 days. Check the current status in YouTube Studio before planning a launch.
- A Restreamer installation and a stable audio source. Restreamer can take a network source or use its internal RTMP server; the right choice depends on how your audio is produced.
- A valid YouTube stream key, also referred to in Restreamer’s documentation as a streaming ID or key. Treat it like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Music rights that cover the planned live use and any recordings or replays, plus a plan for local recording if you need a dependable copy.
Restreamer documents a workflow for publishing to YouTube, but the available product guidance does not establish an unattended uptime guarantee or a validated configuration for a particular Raspberry Pi, server, or workload. Test your actual hardware, source, network, and recovery process together.

Clear the Hindi music rights first
Do not assume that music is cleared because it is available from a streaming service, because a performer has agreed, or because you have permission from only one participant. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights involving artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The terms also refer to applicable regulatory and licensing obligations in the territory of the live stream.
Recommended Free Tools
YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder image and warn the operator; continued use of that content can lead to temporary interruption or termination. YouTube advises creators who have licensed material to ask the rights holder to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist. A live stream can still be interrupted if the material has not been allowlisted, and an archived stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends.

Before scheduling a Hindi music stream, confirm with the relevant rights holders that the permissions cover the specific tracks, live streaming, territories, and any archive or replay you intend to offer. The platform guidance does not establish whether a particular licence covers a particular catalogue or country. Restreamer’s metadata or licence fields describe your configured stream; they do not grant rights to music.
Enable YouTube live streaming and create the destination
- Check eligibility in YouTube Studio. Confirm the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, and there are no live-stream restrictions from the preceding 90 days. Studio labels and placement can change, so use the current live-stream setup screens.
- Create an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, set up a stream for an encoder and obtain its stream key. Keep the key private, and use the current stream status in Live Control Room to confirm that YouTube is receiving a feed.
- Plan a test rather than starting with a public 24/7 broadcast. Set up ahead of time, send a test feed, and inspect the preview and accessibility in Live Control Room. A saved key alone does not prove that the source is producing usable audio.
Configure the audio source in Restreamer
- Open Restreamer’s setup wizard and choose the source path that matches your production setup. The wizard supports network sources and Restreamer’s internal RTMP server; an external encoder such as OBS or Wowza can send to the internal RTMP server.
- Set the audio path. Select or configure the source that carries the Hindi music. Restreamer’s quick-start documentation lists AAC and MP3 as supported audio formats and notes that some services, including YouTube, require an active audio channel. Confirm that audio is present in the source before publishing.
- Enter concise stream metadata and review the wizard’s licence setting. Do not treat that field as a substitute for permission from the music rights holders.
The reviewed guidance does not establish a recommended bitrate, resolution, or encoder profile for this specific audio-led channel. Do not copy a video-streaming bitrate recommendation by guesswork. Use a configuration supported by your source and destination, verify the resulting stream in YouTube’s preview, and monitor whether the audio remains stable.

Publish the Restreamer output to YouTube
- Add a YouTube Publication Service in Restreamer. Choose YouTube as the destination and enter the valid YouTube streaming ID/key from the encoder setup.
- Save the publication and start it. Confirm that Restreamer shows an active connection; its quick guide says the active connection’s bitrate is displayed in the main Restreamer window.
- Check the result in YouTube Live Control Room. Wait for the preview, verify the audio, confirm the event is accessible as intended, and then start or continue the broadcast using YouTube’s current controls.
Restreamer’s publication manual describes HLS from the channel, RTMP from the internal RTMP server, and SRT from that server as publication input options. Its documented default listening ports for incoming RTMP and RTMPS are 1935 and 1936. Those ports concern incoming sources; they are not substitutes for the destination details YouTube provides in its own setup.
Design for continuous operation and recovery
A process that starts successfully is not proof that it will run unattended. Test the entire chain with an unlisted or otherwise appropriate test stream, then make a routine for checking it. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends setting up early, previewing before starting, checking accessibility, monitoring audio and video quality, and confirming that local archive files are growing.

- CanaKit Raspberry Pi 5 Essentials Starter Kit
- Check the source, Restreamer’s active publication, and the YouTube preview after launch.
- Listen to the live playback from the channel’s watch page, including from a mobile device, rather than relying only on the encoder’s local output.
- Keep an operator process for responding to a failed source, host, network connection, or YouTube interruption. The reviewed documentation does not promise automatic recovery across every failure in a self-hosted setup.
- Protect the Restreamer and YouTube credentials. Restreamer’s quick-start material advises using a unique password.
Restreamer’s quick start documents Docker installation and notes that port forwarding is needed for public audience access to its own website player. If viewers watch only on YouTube, do not expose a Restreamer player or administration interface automatically; design network access for the actual source and publishing path you use.
Restreamer’s overview describes installation on a current Raspberry Pi, self-installation on a server, and its ready-to-go datarhei Service. That is not a sizing recommendation: the reviewed materials do not establish which board, power supply, storage, or server configuration will encode your particular source continuously. Test the intended workload before treating the setup as 24/7-ready.

Choose between one long stream and shorter sessions
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Very long streams may also have limited or unavailable DVR rewind, including streams longer than 12 hours. Do not plan on YouTube preserving a single uninterrupted 24-hour Hindi music broadcast as a complete replay.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If replay, clips, or a channel archive matter, record locally and check that the recording file is actually growing. Decide whether shorter scheduled sessions fit your archive and DVR needs better than one continuous broadcast. Restreamer’s YouTube guide advises ending the stream on YouTube first after an event if you want the live stream saved in YouTube’s DVR archive; check the current YouTube controls and archive status rather than assuming the file was retained.

Common problems and what to check
| Symptom | Likely checks | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not show a preview | Verify the channel’s live eligibility, stream key, Restreamer publication status, and that the selected source is actually sending. | Confirm the current stream status in Live Control Room, correct the destination credential if needed, and restart the source-to-publication test before going public. |
| The stream is visible but silent | Check that the source contains audio and that Restreamer has an active audio channel. Confirm the source format and playback at YouTube, not only locally. | Correct the audio source or path in the wizard and repeat the test. Restreamer’s quick-start material lists AAC and MP3 support; it does not establish a preferred encoding setting for this scenario. |
| YouTube replaces or interrupts the broadcast | Check for a third-party content match and whether the music rights holder has allowlisted the channel in Content ID. | Stop or replace the potentially matched material and contact the relevant rights holder about permissions and allowlisting. A licence alone does not ensure uninterrupted live playback. |
| The long broadcast has no complete replay | Check the session length, YouTube archive status, and whether a local recording was running and growing. | Use a local recording for a dependable copy and consider shorter sessions if YouTube archive or DVR behavior is important. |
| The stream stops after a host or network problem | Check the source machine, network path, Restreamer process, and destination connection. | Restore the failed part of the chain and confirm the YouTube preview returns. Keep a human monitoring and recovery routine; the documented self-hosted workflow is not an uptime guarantee. |
Costs and operating trade-offs
The reviewed Restreamer materials describe self-hosting on a Raspberry Pi or server and a managed datarhei Service, but do not establish current managed-service pricing, hardware costs, or comparative performance for this workload. Budget separately for the equipment and operation you choose, and validate the actual encoding workload before committing to a device.
For a self-hosted design, weigh your capacity to maintain the host, network, source, and recovery process against the convenience of a managed service. For either approach, separately plan for music permissions and local storage if an archive is important; neither a streaming workflow nor a metadata licence field supplies those rights.
