You can keep CBSE revision videos available as a YouTube live stream by sending prerecorded lessons through an encoder configured with YouTube’s Live server URL and stream key. The difficult part is not starting the broadcast: a true 24/7 service also needs a tested playback loop, monitoring, and a recovery plan. YouTube’s setup guidance does not guarantee that an encoder will keep playing or restart after a fault.
What you need before starting
- A verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. You must be at least 16 to stream under YouTube’s current eligibility guidance. Check the current requirements before launch: YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
- Recorded lessons and the rights to every video, audio track, image, slide, and excerpt in the broadcast.
- An encoder that can send a video feed to YouTube. YouTube supports software encoders as well as professional-grade hardware encoders; dedicated hardware is optional, not a requirement.
- A separate plan for looping recordings, monitoring the stream, and responding to playback, power, or network failures.
Choose and organize the CBSE revision content
Check the current syllabus
Use CBSE’s 2026–27 curriculum portal to select the class and subject. It lists secondary curriculum subjects such as Class X Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. Recheck the relevant syllabus when the academic year or curriculum changes; older recordings may no longer match it.
Build a deliberate lesson rotation
Arrange original explanations, worked examples, recap segments, and transitions into a sequence learners can follow when they join at any point. Label the class, subject, chapter or topic, and lesson order in the stream metadata and on-screen transitions. Those labels are useful editorial guidance, not a separate CBSE requirement.
CBSE circular TRG-02/2026, dated 7 January 2026, describes an educational-video production workflow that includes identifying the subject, topic, and subject-matter expert; script development and review; storyboarding; recording; graphics; editing; and programme review. It says: “Personalised and Self-Paced Learning: Repeated telecasts and availability on YouTube, enable learners to learn at their own pace, engage in self-directed learning and deepen understanding beyond classroom time.” The circular reported 67 e-videos available on PM eVidya CBSE-15 at that time; that is a dated figure, not a current total. See the CBSE circular TRG-02/2026.

Clear rights before broadcasting
YouTube’s live-stream terms make the creator responsible for securing the necessary rights, including music rights. The terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Read the YouTube Terms of Service and confirm permission for the recordings and every included asset before going live.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may cause a warning or a placeholder to replace the stream; continued use can lead to temporary interruption or termination. Even if you have a licence, a rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams.

Schedule the YouTube live event and connect an encoder
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, open Create and select Go live. In Live Control Room, choose Manage and schedule a stream. Scheduling can create an upcoming watch page and let viewers set reminders. Follow the current YouTube encoder setup instructions if the labels change.
- Set the event details. Give the stream a clear title and description identifying the class, subject, and revision coverage. Choose the intended visibility and schedule. Avoid promising that a stream or its archive will be available in a particular way until you have checked the settings and tested the workflow.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. In the stream settings, copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into the corresponding encoder fields. Treat the stream key like a password: it lets an encoder send content to your channel. Do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Configure the encoder’s source and output. Select the prerecorded lesson feed or playlist source in your encoder and configure it to send to YouTube. The exact looping and restart controls depend on the encoder; YouTube’s setup instructions do not establish one universal software configuration for unattended 24/7 playback.
- Start a preview first. Start sending the feed from the encoder, then inspect the preview in Live Control Room. Check that the right video appears and that audio is clear before starting the event.
- Start the live event. When the preview and event details are correct, start the stream in Live Control Room or the encoder workflow shown for that event. Confirm the public watch page is receiving the feed.
YouTube documents encoder-based live streaming, but it does not specify a particular encoder, looping configuration, or software setup that will continuously rotate prerecorded videos and reliably restart after faults. Choose an encoder whose controls you understand and test its actual behavior before relying on it.
Design the 24/7 operations plan
A stream is only as dependable as the system sending it. Before launch, decide who or what will detect a stalled feed, respond to alerts, and restore playback. Do not assume that YouTube’s event setup automatically loops files or repairs an encoder, power, or network failure.

- Test the full playback rotation. Verify that lessons move to the next item as intended, transitions do not leave long gaps, and audio remains present.
- Test failure and recovery. Check what happens if the encoder stops, the source ends, or the connection is interrupted. YouTube recommends testing encoder failover; an operational plan should identify who will act when a failure occurs.
- Monitor the local recording if you make one. YouTube’s live guidance recommends checking that local archive files are growing. A local copy can help preserve material, but it does not itself restore the live feed.
- Verify access from more than one place. Check the channel or watch page and view the stream on a mobile device, as well as in Live Control Room.
- Keep watching audio and video. YouTube advises continuous monitoring. Assign responsibility for checks and alerts rather than leaving a 24/7 broadcast unattended without a response plan. See YouTube Help: Live streaming tips.
Plan sessions and archives around YouTube’s 12-hour guidance
YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not establish that one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will be archived in the same way. If viewers need on-demand lesson videos, consider shorter scheduled sessions or maintain independent recordings, then check the current YouTube Studio behavior before relying on a long stream’s archive. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
Understand monetization and channel-policy risks
Repeating prerecorded lessons does not guarantee monetization. YouTube says its monetization policies apply to live streams, and its “inauthentic content” policy addresses repetitive or mass-produced content. Reused content is assessed separately. Make the educational value, original explanation, and editorial work clear, and do not promise YouTube Partner Program approval or earnings. Ads and some fan-funding tools may be available to eligible live streams, subject to current rules and the channel’s status. Review YouTube channel monetization policies and YouTube live stream monetization.

Encoder options: software or hardware
YouTube supports software encoding and recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events, but the official guidance does not compare specific products or quantify reliability, cost, or loop automation. The choice depends on the setup you can operate and monitor.
| Approach | What the guidance establishes | What to check for a 24/7 stream |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder | YouTube documents software encoders as a way to send a live feed. | Whether the software can play the intended rotation, recover from interruptions, and provide monitoring that suits your operations. The sources do not establish one product or configuration. |
| Hardware encoder | YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events; dedicated hardware is optional. | Upfront equipment cost, playlist and restart automation, monitoring, and failover support for the specific device. The sources do not establish model-level comparisons or benchmarks. |
Common problems and what to check
| Symptom | Likely area to inspect | Practical next step |
|---|---|---|
| The event is scheduled but viewers do not see video. | The encoder may not be sending a feed, or the server URL or stream key may be incorrect. | Check the encoder’s connection status and the event preview; re-copy the URL and key from the correct YouTube event without exposing the key. |
| The preview is blank or shows the wrong lesson. | The encoder’s selected source or playback rotation may be wrong. | Confirm the intended file or playlist is selected and test the rotation before starting the event. |
| Audio is missing or unclear. | The source, encoder audio input, or playback level may be incorrect. | Listen to the Live Control Room preview and correct the source or audio settings before going live. |
| The stream is interrupted after a copyright match. | Video, music, images, or another third-party asset may have triggered a match. | Review YouTube’s notice, remove or replace material you are not entitled to use, and confirm whether a rights holder must allowlist the channel. |
| The stream stops when a file or session ends. | The encoder may not have a working loop or restart process. | Test the specific encoder’s playback and restart controls; do not assume YouTube will restart the feed. |
| A long broadcast has no expected archive. | The stream may exceed YouTube’s stated automatic-archive guidance for streams under 12 hours. | Check current Studio behavior, use shorter sessions if VOD access matters, or preserve independent recordings. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want the prerecorded rotation to keep running without leaving an encoder computer on at home, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It keeps looping from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Each slot streams the files as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. For CBSE lessons, you still need to clear rights, keep content aligned with the syllabus, and consider YouTube’s archive and monetization policies.
