The rotation happens in the encoder or cloud playout service—not in a YouTube playlist setting. What you need before you start
- Showroom tours, product demonstrations, or offer clips arranged in the order you want viewers to see them.
- Permission to broadcast every video and audio track, including in the live stream and its replay. YouTube’s live-production guidance says creators must obtain the necessary content clearances.
- A playout route: OBS running on a shop computer, or a cloud service that plays uploaded videos.
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so activate it ahead of a planned event: YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
There is no published evidence here that rotating clips guarantees more sales or enquiries. Treat the stream as a way to show products and offers continuously, and judge its business value using your own enquiries and sales records.

Set up a repeating rotation with OBS
1. Arrange and check your files
Put clips in the intended sequence and check that each plays through, has usable audio levels, and ends where you expect. Use video and music the shop owns or has permission to broadcast. Keep a backup copy of the files; with local playout, those files and the computer running OBS are part of the production setup.

2. Add the clips to an OBS scene
For a single video that should repeat, add an OBS Media Source to a scene and enable its loop option. For several files, an OBS community guide describes using a VLC Video Source to create a playlist where that integration is available. The precise menus and availability can depend on the OBS and VLC installation, so confirm the controls in the versions installed at the shop. Build the scene to show the footage at the size you want. If you need a live camera cut, product overlay, or operator-controlled scene change, OBS gives you that local control; test those elements with the recorded rotation before the event.
3. Connect OBS to YouTube
In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a broadcast or schedule it in advance. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains how to obtain the server URL and stream key. Enter these in OBS’s stream settings, then start streaming from OBS when ready. Keep the stream key private: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.

4. Preview, start, and monitor
- Start the OBS stream and wait for YouTube to receive its signal.
- Check the incoming picture and audio in Live Control Room. Confirm the first clip is framed correctly and the audio is audible.
- Let the complete rotation play at least once. Check that every clip appears in order and transitions do not leave an unintended blank or silent interval.
- Start the scheduled broadcast in YouTube Studio if required. OBS documents that scheduled-stream auto-start and manual Go Live behavior are separate options; check which behavior is enabled for the event in the OBS YouTube streaming guide.
- Keep Live Control Room’s stream-health view available while the event runs. For a local OBS broadcast, keep the computer, power, and internet connection available throughout.
5. End the event and keep the replay
Stop the encoder and end the event in YouTube Studio when the broadcast is over. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; its live-production guide states, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” Check the replay afterward, especially if it matters to your shop, and remember that replay availability does not replace the need for rights to the material.

YouTube does not receive a signal
Confirm live streaming is activated on the channel, the broadcast is open in Live Control Room, and OBS has the correct YouTube server URL and stream key. If live access was just enabled for the first time, YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours.
The rotation stops after one clip
Check that looping is enabled for a single Media Source. For a multi-file sequence, check that the VLC Video Source is available and its playlist is configured in the intended order. Test the entire sequence rather than assuming the last clip will roll into the first.

A clip, transition, or soundtrack is missing
Preview every file in the installed setup and inspect the rotation in Live Control Room. Verify the files are accessible to the playout source, the audio is included, and the scene uses the intended source. If the issue cannot be fixed during the broadcast, switch to a backup clip or end the stream rather than leaving an unintended blank feed.
The stream goes offline during the event
With OBS, check the shop’s power, computer, and internet connection, then restore the encoder feed and verify reception in Live Control Room. A local setup depends on all three remaining available. A cloud playout service can remove the local computer requirement, but still depends on the external service and YouTube.
The replay is unavailable
YouTube’s stated automatic archiving applies to streams under 12 hours. Confirm the event ended correctly and check the replay in Studio; do not assume a longer broadcast will be archived automatically.

Keep the broadcast safe and useful
- Use only video, music, logos, and other material the shop has the right to show in a live broadcast and replay.
- Keep the stream key private and avoid sharing screenshots that expose it.
- Run the rotation before promotion so you can catch ordering, framing, audio, and transition problems.
- For scheduled events, confirm who will start the broadcast in Live Control Room and who will respond if the feed drops.
