To romance Triss in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, kiss her during “A Matter of Life and Death,” then choose “Stay with me” and “I love you” when she says goodbye at the docks in “Now or Never.” The earlier kiss makes the commitment option available; the dock conversation is where Geralt commits. Make a manual save before that conversation if you are undecided.
How to get the Triss romance option in “Now or Never”
- Earlier, during “A Matter of Life and Death”: Kiss Triss at the masquerade. The cited walkthroughs say this is required to make the later romance option available (Gamer Guides; Gamer Guides).
- Complete “Now or Never” with Triss: Follow the quest’s mage-escape sequence. The quest brings the evacuation and the romance decision together (WitcherDB).
- At the docks: Choose “Stay with me,” then “I love you,” as Triss is leaving. This is the dialogue sequence reported by the Gamer Guides walkthrough.
Dialogue wording may differ by language or localization. If the romance option does not appear, check whether Geralt kissed Triss in “A Matter of Life and Death.”

What the dock choice means
The prior kiss opens the opportunity; the dock exchange is the commitment point. Choosing the two lines above pursues Triss as Geralt’s romance. If you are not sure, save manually before speaking with her so you can reconsider without relying on an unverified claim that the decision can be reversed.

“Now or Never” is also about helping Triss get Novigrad’s hunted mages out safely. The walkthroughs establish that the evacuation is central to the quest, but do not give a complete, independently corroborated map of every combination of romance decision, mage outcome, optional objective, and earlier quest state. Treat the romance instructions and the broader evacuation outcome as related but distinct decisions; do not assume a specific romance choice guarantees a particular result for every mage.

- Your romance goal: If you want Geralt to pursue Triss, use the dock dialogue sequence after the earlier kiss.
- Your evacuation goal: Follow the quest’s mage-escape sequence, bearing in mind that the cited guides do not establish every possible survival outcome.
- Your comfort with commitment: The dock choice is a firm story decision, so save beforehand if you want time to choose.
There is no objectively “best” choice established by the walkthroughs; the answer depends on whether you prioritize pursuing Triss, the mage evacuation, or both, and the sources do not confirm every outcome permutation.

CD PROJEKT RED announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered became available on September 29, 2026, for PC through GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Battle.net, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The publisher says qualifying existing owners can upgrade for free; check the announcement for platform and ownership conditions before buying (CD PROJEKT RED).
