How to Review and Revoke App Access to Your Apple Account

There isn’t one switch for every app connected to your Apple Account. To remove an app’s Sign in with Apple connection, open Settings > [your name] > Sign in with Apple on iPhone or iPad, select the app or developer, then tap Delete and confirm. Other connections—such as access to iCloud data, app-specific passwords, and device permissions—use different controls.

First, identify what kind of access you want to remove

“App access” can refer to several separate arrangements. Use the control that matches what the app can access; removing one type does not automatically remove the others.

Access type What it covers Where to manage it What removal does
Sign in with Apple The Apple Account sign-in relationship with an app or website Apple Account settings or account.apple.com Stops using Sign in with Apple for that app and signs you out of it on the device
Account Data Sharing Supported third-party access to iCloud Mail, Calendar, or Contacts account.apple.com Blocks the app from accessing the data until you authorize it again
App-specific password A separate password used by some third-party apps to access Apple Account data account.apple.com Revokes that credential; the app is signed out until given a new one
Device permission Access to device features or data such as Photos, Camera, Contacts, Microphone, or location Device Settings Changes the app’s access to the selected device data or feature
Hide My Email forwarding Whether messages sent to an app-specific address are forwarded to your personal inbox Apple Account settings Stops forwarding; it does not remove the sign-in relationship

How to remove an app from Sign in with Apple

Apple lets you review apps currently using Sign in with Apple and stop using the feature for an app or website. The same list can show information you originally shared.

  1. On iPhone or iPad: Open Settings > [your name] > Sign in with Apple.
  2. On Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Settings > [your name] > Sign in with Apple.
  3. On the web: Sign in at account.apple.com, then open Sign-In & Security > Sign in with Apple.
  4. Select the app or developer, choose Delete, and confirm that you want to stop using Sign in with Apple.

Apple’s instructions are documented in Manage your apps with Sign in with Apple. The list may group multiple apps under one developer: check the developer name before removing the connection, because the change may affect more than one app.

  • This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
  • Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
  • The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.

What happens after you stop using Sign in with Apple?

You are signed out of the app on the device. This does not, by itself, delete your account with the app or erase data the developer holds. For account deletion or other service-side data controls, use the app or the developer’s website; Apple’s third-party app settings guidance notes that some account and data-sharing choices must be managed there.

If you return to the app later, Apple says you can sign in with Apple again to use the same account, or create a new account. Some apps may offer a way to set a password for the existing account. The options depend on the app.

How to revoke an app’s access to iCloud Mail, Calendar, or Contacts

Access to supported iCloud services through Account Data Sharing is separate from Sign in with Apple. To remove it, sign in at account.apple.com, choose Sign-In and Security > Account Data Sharing, select the app, then choose Remove access. Apple says the app cannot access the data again unless you authorize it. See Access your iCloud Mail, Calendar, and Contacts in third-party apps.

If you previously used an app-specific password for that app before switching to the supported authorization method, Apple advises revoking the old password as well.

How to remove an app-specific password

An app-specific password is a credential, not a Sign in with Apple connection. Apple requires two-factor authentication to generate these passwords. To remove one, sign in at account.apple.com, open Sign-In and Security > App-Specific Passwords, and remove the password. Apple also provides Revoke All. Details are in Sign in to apps with your Apple Account using app-specific passwords.

Apps that rely on a revoked password are signed out until you generate and enter a new app-specific password. Changing or resetting your primary Apple Account password automatically revokes all app-specific passwords.

How to change an app’s permissions on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac

If the concern is an app using Photos, Contacts, Camera, Microphone, Calendar, Reminders, location, or another device feature, review its permissions in the device’s Settings. These permissions are separate from Apple Account sign-in and iCloud data authorization. Apple’s Protecting app access to user data describes the categories of device access that can be reviewed and changed.

How to stop Hide My Email forwarding

Hide My Email forwarding controls whether messages sent to an address created for an app or developer reach your personal inbox. Turning forwarding off is separate from stopping Sign in with Apple: it stops the email flow, not the sign-in link. Apple documents this distinction in Manage your apps with Sign in with Apple and its Sign in with Apple on iPhone guide. On iPhone, the Hide My Email controls are under your name and Sign-In & Security; exact labels can vary by system version.

Automatic Sign-in Connected Accounts: a separate, newer control

Some supported third-party accounts can be linked through Apple’s Automatic Sign-in feature. This is distinct from Sign in with Apple. Apple’s Connected Accounts instructions require iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later on iPhone or iPad, or tvOS 26 or later on Apple TV; availability also depends on app support.

On iPhone or iPad, the documented path is Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases > View Account > Connected Accounts. Apple also provides management through tv.apple.com account settings. Disconnecting a linked account does not automatically sign you out of the third-party app on your devices. See Apple’s Connect your third-party app accounts to your Apple Account instructions, published November 19, 2025.
