To return an Udaan order, open a customer-support request from the Udaan platform, choose Call Us for a direct call or callback, describe the problem, and submit the order details and proof. Udaan’s Return Shipments Policy, updated 7 May 2025, covers products that are physically damaged or defective, expired or affected by a quality issue, wrong or mismatched, or missing because of Udaan or its logistics provider. Keep the product, carton, labels, invoice or tax bill, and packaging until Udaan finishes its inspection.
The route and timing depend on what happened. Damage identified while the courier is still present should normally be rejected before you sign for delivery. A delivered item that is accepted for return can be reverse-picked and inspected within 48 hours after Udaan receives it. An advance-paid shipment marked undelivered follows the RTO process, with a same-channel refund stated as 2 business days. Refund destination also depends on whether you are in Karnataka and whether you buy on credit.

Which Udaan problem are you trying to resolve?
Start by classifying the event correctly. Udaan handles a visible delivery-time discrepancy differently from a return requested after delivery, and an undelivered shipment follows a separate return-to-origin (RTO) rule.

The policy excerpt does not establish one universal return deadline for every product category. Do not assume that a single number of days applies to all Udaan orders; ask support for the period applicable to your order and product.

Before contacting support: preserve the evidence
Udaan can ask for documents or information supporting your claim. Evidence is most useful when it connects the condition of the parcel to the exact order, item, and quantity. Preserve the shipment before attempting a return or disposal.
Keep the complete shipment
- Retain the outer shipping carton, inner packaging, product, labels, seals, and any protective material.
- Keep the invoice or tax bill and the delivery receipt.
- Do not throw away damaged pieces, leaking containers, broken parts, or labels that identify the item or batch.
- Separate the disputed item from unrelated stock so the correct product is available if a pickup is approved.
Record the condition clearly
If applicable, make an unboxing or normal video that shows all sides of the package, the shipping label, order details, quantity, and the issue. Udaan’s policy says the buyer should upload an “unboxing/normal video clip indicating the issues in the Product/shipment delivered (if applicable).” A video is not a substitute for every document, but it can show whether a seal, carton, or item was already compromised when opened.
- Take readable photographs of the outer carton, shipping label, invoice, item label, expiry information, and the defect or mismatch.
- For a shortage, show the package, the contents received, and the quantity listed on the invoice or order.
- For a wrong item, capture the product received and the identifier or description on the order.
- For an expiry or quality complaint, photograph the expiry or batch marking and retain the item in its delivered condition.
Do not alter the product to make the defect easier to see. Keep the packaging and evidence available until Udaan confirms that the case is closed.
How to open an Udaan return request
- Open Udaan customer support from the platform. Use the support entry associated with the order rather than an unrelated sales channel, so the request can be tied to the correct transaction.
- Select “Call Us.” Udaan says this option can connect you directly or let you request a callback. Explain whether the issue is damage, defect, expiry, quality, mismatch, or missing quantity.
- Provide the order information. Give the order reference and identify the product, quantity, delivery date, and the point at which you discovered the problem. State whether the shipment was accepted or rejected at delivery.
- Submit proof and requested documents. Upload the photographs, unboxing or normal video where applicable, invoice or tax bill, and any other information support requests. Udaan’s logistics terms require appropriate documents or information supporting the claim.
- Wait for the decision and pickup instructions. If Udaan accepts the request, it may assign a reverse pickup. Follow the approved pickup details exactly; do not send a different item or an unapproved quantity.
- Pack the approved item. Udaan’s Payment Logistics Terms place responsibility on the buyer to pack the product so the shipment can withstand handling and transportation. Use the original packaging where it is still serviceable, reinforce it as needed, and keep labels and paperwork with the parcel.
- Hand over only the approved shipment. Confirm that the product, quantity, and identifying details match the return approval and pickup record. Keep the handover confirmation or tracking information.
- Wait for inspection. Udaan says it will inspect the returned shipment within 48 hours to confirm the reported quality or damage issue. Refund processing begins once the return is inspected and deemed valid.
- Check the refund route. The destination depends on your state and credit status, as explained below. If the expected destination does not show the credit after the applicable period, contact support with the case and pickup references.
What to do when damage is visible at delivery
Visible delivery damage is the one situation in which the courier handover decision matters immediately. Tell the delivery person before accepting the shipment. Reject the damaged shipment before signing, and write the damage or discrepancy on the delivery receipt. This creates a contemporaneous record instead of leaving the condition to be reconstructed later.

Udaan says delivery personnel return damaged products for inspection at no cost. If the damage is confirmed, the policy states that the refund is credited to the original payment method within 7 working days. This timing applies to delivery-time damage confirmed through that process; it is not a universal promise for every post-delivery return.
If you already signed for the parcel
Do not conceal the problem or discard the packaging. Photograph the condition, keep the delivery paperwork, and open a support request as soon as you discover the issue. Explain that the damage was found after acceptance and follow the post-delivery return process. Udaan may ask for an unboxing or normal video, product images, and other proof before deciding whether to arrange reverse pickup.
How post-delivery inspection and reverse pickup work
A post-delivery return is not complete when a support ticket is created. Udaan first has to accept the request, provide any pickup instructions, receive the shipment, and inspect it. The 48-hour figure in the Return Shipments Policy is the stated inspection period for the returned shipment; it is not a blanket guarantee that every refund will appear 48 hours after you submit a complaint.

The Payment Logistics Terms say the buyer is responsible for packing the product so the packed shipment can withstand handling and transportation. Use a sturdy carton, protect fragile parts, keep liquids upright where appropriate, and seal the parcel securely. Packing tape sized for the parcel is a practical supply, but the key requirement is that the approved product arrives identifiable and protected.

Match the approved pickup
Before handover, compare the product and quantity with the approval details. Udaan says it will not approve a return when the product handed over does not match the approved reverse-pickup details. That can include sending a different model, a different quantity, or an item that was not part of the accepted claim.
After handover
Keep the pickup receipt, tracking number, photographs of the packed parcel, and the support conversation. If the inspection finds the reported issue valid, refund processing starts at that point. If the inspection does not validate the claim, ask support for the specific reason and the evidence used before escalating.
Where Udaan sends the refund
Refund destination is determined by two factors in the policy: whether a non-credit buyer is in Karnataka and whether the buyer uses credit.

Undelivered shipments and RTO refunds
An order marked undelivered is handled differently from a product that reached you and is later returned. Udaan’s RTO Policy says that when an advance-paid shipment is marked undelivered, the refund is processed through the same payment channel within 2 business days.
- Verify in the order record that the shipment is marked undelivered, rather than delivered, rejected, or returned after acceptance.
- Allow the stated 2-business-day processing period for the advance-paid amount to move through the original channel.
- If the credit does not appear after that period, contact support with the order reference and the payment-channel details.
Once a shipment has been delivered, use the Return Shipments Policy for damage, defect, expiry, quality, mismatch, or missing-product claims. Do not describe a delivered-item return as an RTO; the evidence and timing are different.

Udaan lists several rejection or cancellation grounds. Treat each one as a practical check before submitting the request.
- No response to calls or other communications: Answer inquiry calls, callback requests, messages, and document requests. A case can be cancelled when Udaan cannot complete its verification.
- Insufficient proof: Supply the order information, invoice or tax bill, photographs, video where applicable, package details, and any other supporting material requested.
- Excessive return history: Udaan says a high volume or pattern of returns can be considered when deciding a request. Make each claim specific and return only the approved item.
- Verification failure: Cooperate with checks concerning the order, account, product, and delivery.
- Mismatch at pickup: The item handed to the pickup agent must match the approved reverse-pickup details. A mismatch can prevent approval even if the original complaint was genuine.
How to improve a rejected case
- Read the rejection or cancellation reason and identify whether it concerns proof, communication, verification, or the physical item.
- Collect the missing evidence without changing the product or packaging.
- Recontact support through the order and select Call Us to explain the correction.
- Ask what exact document, image, quantity, or identifier is required and submit only information related to that order.
- If ordinary support still does not resolve a valid claim, use the grievance route below.
Escalating an unresolved Udaan complaint
When customer support does not resolve the issue, use the grievance mechanism named in Udaan’s policy for Hiveloop E-Commerce Private Limited. The policy lists the Grievance Officer’s phone number as 080 6883 5562, available Monday through Saturday from 10:00 to 19:00, and provides a grievance email address on the policy page.

In an escalation, include the order reference, support-ticket or callback details, delivery date, product and quantity, the original complaint, documents already submitted, pickup or inspection information, and the remedy you are requesting. Keep the wording factual and chronological. Use the grievance email address exactly as displayed on the current policy page, because contact details and policy wording can change.
Practical checklist before you submit
- Have you identified whether the shipment was rejected at delivery, delivered and returned, or marked undelivered?
- Have you kept the carton, product, labels, invoice or tax bill, delivery receipt, and other packaging?
- Have you photographed the shipping label, order details, quantity, product identifier, and issue?
- If relevant, have you recorded an unboxing or normal video showing all sides of the package?
- Have you described the issue precisely as damage, defect, expiry, quality, mismatch, or missing product?
- Have you selected the platform’s Call Us support option and answered follow-up communications?
- If a reverse pickup is approved, will the packed item and quantity exactly match the approval?
- Have you recorded the pickup handover and retained the tracking or case reference?
- Do you know whether your refund should go to the Udaan wallet, bank account, original payment method, or credit ledger?
Key timing distinctions
Three policy figures are easy to confuse. Udaan states 48 hours for inspecting a reverse-picked return shipment and beginning refund processing once it is found valid. It states 7 working days for a refund to the original payment method after delivery-time damage is confirmed. Its RTO Policy states 2 business days for an advance-paid shipment marked undelivered to be refunded through the same payment channel. These clocks start from different events and apply to different workflows.
Because the current policy excerpt does not set one universal return deadline for every product category, obtain the applicable period for your specific order from Udaan support. Policy language, support contacts, and refund handling can change, so check the live Udaan policy page when you file a claim.
