First identify which Android edition you have

To identify the copy on the old or new phone, open Google Play Store, open your profile menu, and review the game in your purchase history or installed-app list. Compare the publisher shown on the listing with the publisher on your receipt. Do not use the Netflix listing when trying to restore a Playstack in-app purchase, or vice versa.

The title wording can make the two listings look interchangeable, but the access checks are different. The Playstack listing describes a paid in-app unlock, while the Netflix listing ties access to a Netflix membership. Start every recovery attempt by recording the publisher name, the account currently shown in Play Store, and the account or membership used on the old phone.
Protect a possible local save before changing anything
Entitlement recovery and save recovery follow different paths. A store purchase is associated with an account; a save may remain only in the app’s local data. Until you know where the progress is stored, treat the old installation as the only copy.
- Do not uninstall the game from the old phone.
- Do not use Android’s Clear storage or Clear data command for the game.
- Do not accept a device-transfer or restore operation that overwrites the old app data before you have checked the old phone.
- Keep the old phone available, charged, and connected to the account that was used for gameplay.
- Keep your Google Play order number or receipt; it proves the purchase even if the app is currently locked.
- Write down whether the old copy is the Playstack or Netflix distribution before removing anything.
Playstack’s terms advise users to maintain an external way to reconstruct lost data. The published guidance does not describe a supported manual save-file export or import, so do not rely on copying an arbitrary Android folder as a guaranteed recovery method. A screenshot of a completed case can help explain the loss to support, but it cannot recreate the underlying save.

Google’s account guidance says an app bought on Google Play can be installed on another Android device without paying again when that device uses the same purchasing account. Use this sequence for the Playstack edition.
- Switch to the purchasing account. In Google Play Store, tap the profile picture and select the Google Account that paid for the game. If several accounts are present, check each account’s purchase history rather than buying again.
- Open the correct listing. Search for The Case of the Golden Idol and select the listing published by Playstack. Confirm that the publisher is Playstack before installing.
- Install and launch. Start the game while the purchasing account is active. Give Google Play a moment to verify the entitlement; the unlocked content should become available without a second charge.
- Keep the receipt. If the game still presents the paid content as locked, record the Google Play order number, purchase date, and the account used. Do not repeat the purchase while the account or edition is still uncertain.
The practical cost expectation is simple: the Playstack listing describes the unlock as a one-time purchase. A second payment should not be necessary merely because the app was reinstalled on another Android device under the same Google Account. The listing does not state a separate price in the recovery guidance, so check the live Play Store page for the current amount rather than relying on an old receipt or a third-party price.
Playstack’s terms state that refunds and payment-related in-app-purchase issues are handled by the platform provider. That means Google Play is the first place to address a charge, duplicate transaction, or account-level billing problem; Playstack can investigate the game’s entitlement after you provide the transaction evidence.

If the game is still locked
Check the account actually active in Play Store
A phone can have the right account added but still have another account selected in Play Store. Reopen the profile menu, switch to the account shown on the receipt, then revisit the Playstack listing and launch the game again. A purchase made on a different account will not appear in the current account’s history.

If you cannot find the transaction, check every Google Account that was signed in when the original purchase was made. Do not infer ownership from the phone’s current primary account. The order number and receipt identify the transaction more reliably than the device owner’s assumption about which account was used.
Check the publisher and edition
Compare the listing’s publisher with your receipt. Playstack and Netflix are different Android distributions. An entitlement from one is not documented as transferable to the other, even when the title name looks similar.
Separate a billing problem from an app problem
If the transaction is missing from Google Play’s history, the issue is account or platform billing rather than a save. If the transaction is present but the Playstack app remains locked, retain screenshots of the listing, the locked screen, and the order details for Playstack support.
A charge that appears twice, a refund request, or a transaction that never completed belongs with the platform provider under Playstack’s terms. Playstack is the useful escalation point for a valid transaction that the game does not recognize, a freeze, or another title-side malfunction.
Do not look for an undocumented universal restore control
The authoritative material does not document a title-specific Restore purchases button, a code that transfers the purchase between editions, or a manual entitlement file. Use the account verification steps above instead of entering unofficial codes or deleting data.

Try to recover progress through Google Play Games
Google Play Games Help says that some games autosave progress when the player is signed in to the Play Games mobile app. It does not say that every game does this, so a successful purchase restoration does not prove that a save will return.
- Inspect the game listing. On the Playstack listing, look for the Uses Google Play Games indicator. Its presence tells you the game has Play Games integration; it does not by itself establish that every save is synchronized.
- Open the game’s account-linked screens. In the game, open its Achievements or Leaderboards screen and note which Google account is displayed.
- Correct the account if necessary. If those screens show a different account from the one used on the old phone, sign out of the incorrect Play Games account and reopen the game with the previous account selected.
- Allow the account check to complete. Launch the game normally and wait for Play Games to finish signing in before judging whether progress is available. Avoid clearing app data while testing.
Check the Play Games account on both phones if the old phone still starts. Matching accounts provide the best documented chance of seeing an autosaved progress record, but they are not proof that this title has stored a cloud copy. If the listing does not show Play Games use, or the correct account has no progress, the available official information does not establish a cloud copy for this title. Treat the missing save as potentially local rather than repeatedly reinstalling.
When the old phone still works
Use it as your evidence and preservation copy
Open the game on the old phone before making changes. Note the edition, the Google account visible in Play Games screens, and the point reached in the story. Capture screenshots of the game’s account-linked screens and any case or bonus content that is unlocked. These records cannot recreate a save by themselves, but they give support a precise description of what existed.

Test the new installation without destroying the old one
Install the Playstack edition on the new phone with the original Google Account, then check Play Games integration. Keep the old installation untouched until you know whether the new copy has the expected progress. If the new phone shows a fresh game, close it and contact support rather than clearing or overwriting the old data.
Do not assume Android’s general backup is a title-specific save
Published guidance does not promise that Android device backup, a manufacturer’s transfer utility, or a manually copied folder will restore this game’s progress. A transfer that replaces the old installation can remove the only recoverable local copy. If a transfer tool offers to merge or overwrite app data, postpone that choice until you have tested the new install and documented the old state.
When the old phone is lost, broken, or already wiped
Install the matching edition with the original Google Account and perform the Play Games checks. If progress is absent, there is no documented Playstack procedure for reconstructing a local save from an order number alone. The order proves the right to the purchased content; it does not prove that a cloud save exists.

Do not purchase the game again merely because the new phone starts at the beginning. First confirm the publisher, account, and transaction. Then send the evidence to Playstack so the company can determine whether an account-side or title-side recovery is possible. Be prepared for the possibility that a local-only save cannot be restored after the old device has been wiped; no supported export or import process is documented.

Netflix edition: a different recovery path
The Netflix listing is a separate distribution and requires a Netflix membership rather than the Playstack one-time in-app unlock. If that is the copy you installed, verify that the Netflix account on the device is the one with the active membership and that you installed the Netflix-published listing. A Playstack Google Play receipt is not documented as an entitlement for the Netflix edition.
The Netflix listing also does not document a transferable-save guarantee. Follow the account shown by that edition and avoid deleting the old installation while you investigate. For a membership, access question, or account sign-in problem, the relevant account provider is the appropriate first contact; Playstack support is for problems with the Playstack edition.

Contact Playstack with a complete recovery report
For a Playstack entitlement that remains locked, or a progress problem that survives the account checks, email [email protected]. The Google Play listing asks users with freezes and other problems to include details and screenshots.
Include the following in one message:
- Google Play order number and receipt.
- The Google Account used for the purchase, without sending its password.
- Phone model and Android version.
- Whether the old phone is still available and whether the app was uninstalled or its storage cleared.
- The edition and publisher shown in Google Play.
- Approximate purchase date and the date the problem appeared.
- Screenshots of the locked content, missing progress, Play Games account screen, and store listing.
- A short sequence of what happened, such as “reinstalled on a new phone, same account selected, entitlement missing” or “purchase restored, progress starts at the beginning.”
Never include a Google password, payment-card number, or unrelated personal credentials. Keep the original installation untouched until support has advised you on any further destructive step.

- Locked content, no visible transaction: switch through the Google Accounts on the device and inspect purchase history. If the order is still absent, contact Google Play for the billing issue.
- Locked content, transaction visible: confirm that the installed listing is published by Playstack, then send the receipt and screenshots to Playstack.
- Content unlocked, progress missing: stop reinstalling, check the Play Games indicator and account on the old and new phones, and preserve the old installation.

Open Play Store’s profile menu and check each signed-in account’s purchase history. Use the account shown on the original receipt, not simply the phone’s current primary account.
What if the purchase appears in Google Play but the game remains locked?

Treat progress separately: check Play Games, but assume the save may be local until proven otherwise. Preserve the old installation, never clear its data during testing, and give Playstack your receipt, device details, account information, and screenshots if the entitlement or progress is still missing.
