To reset a forgotten Yamaha Music ID password, open your region’s Yamaha Sign In or Register screen, choose Reset Password, enter the email address registered to the account, and select Send Password Reset Link. Follow the newest email to create a password. If you are already signed in, use My Account → Change Password.
Yamaha’s public account guidance reviewed for this article does not document a one-click control that signs out every other device. After changing the password, sign out normally on the device you control, close the browser, and contact Yamaha Music ID support for your country or region to ask whether remaining sessions can be revoked.

Choose the right Yamaha account action
Your starting point determines the correct path. A forgotten password uses the recovery form on the sign-in page; a known password can be changed from account settings. Signing out of the browser you are using is separate from trying to remove access on another device.

How Yamaha Music ID password recovery works
Yamaha Music ID is a common account used by participating Yamaha Music Connect services. The account experience is regional, so the country or region where the account was created determines the sign-in page, available services, and support route. Use the Yamaha site for that region rather than assuming that a page from another country will expose identical controls.

Password recovery is an email-based process. Yamaha’s regional account FAQ describes the essential sequence as: “Click, tap, or otherwise access on ‘Reset Password’ on the Sign In or Register screen, then input your email address and access ‘Send Password Reset Link.’” The link is sent to the email address associated with the account; it is not sent to an arbitrary address you enter for convenience.
Reset a forgotten Yamaha password
- Open the correct regional Yamaha sign-in page. Go to the Yamaha Music ID or Yamaha Music Connect service used by your account in the country or region where you registered it.
- Open the account entry screen. Select Sign In or Register if the page presents separate registration and login choices.
- Select Reset Password. This is the documented starting point for a forgotten password. Do not create a second account simply because the first login attempt failed.
- Enter the registered email address. Use the address supplied when the Yamaha Music ID account was created. Check spelling, punctuation, and the domain before submitting.
- Select Send Password Reset Link. Yamaha sends the recovery message to the account email address.
- Open the newest reset email. If you request more than one link, use the latest message. Earlier links may no longer be the active recovery request.
- Follow the link and create a new password. Complete every field shown on the regional Yamaha page. If the form displays password rules, satisfy those rules exactly rather than relying on a password that worked for another service.
- Return to the Yamaha sign-in page and test the new password. Use the same regional account portal and the email address tied to the account.
The reset process changes the credential; the public guidance does not state that it automatically terminates every session already open on other devices. Treat password recovery and session revocation as separate tasks.
Change your password while signed in
If you can still access Yamaha Music ID and know the existing password, changing it from account settings is more direct than using email recovery.
- Sign in to the Yamaha Music ID account.
- Open My Account.
- Select Change Password.
- Enter the current password and the new password if the regional form requests both.
- Submit the change and wait for the account confirmation.
- Sign in again with the new password if Yamaha returns you to the login screen.
Yamaha’s account guidance also identifies My Details and Email Address as account-editing areas. Use those sections to verify that the recovery address is current before you leave the account settings page. Changing an email address and changing a password are different operations; updating one does not, by itself, perform the other.

Sign out of the Yamaha session you are using
To end access on the computer or phone in front of you, use the account’s ordinary Log out or Sign out control. The exact placement can vary between Yamaha regional services and participating Music Connect products.
- Open the account menu or profile area.
- Select Log out or Sign out.
- Wait until the page returns to a signed-out state or shows the sign-in screen.
- Close the browser window. Yamaha’s privacy policy specifically advises users to log out and close the browser window.
Closing a tab without using the logout control is not equivalent to a confirmed sign-out. Likewise, deleting a browser shortcut or uninstalling an app does not prove that the account session was invalidated.
Can you sign out of Yamaha on every other device?
The Yamaha Music ID documentation reviewed for this account task does not publish a global Sign out all other sessions, Log out all devices, or equivalent control. It also does not promise that changing a password revokes every existing browser or app session.

That means you should not assume that a password change alone removes a session on a shared computer, an old phone, or a device you no longer possess. Yamaha may handle session revocation through regional support, but availability can depend on the country and the connected service.

Recommended response when another device may still be signed in
- Change the password using My Account → Change Password, or complete the reset flow if you were locked out.
- Use the normal logout control on any device you can access.
- Close the browser window on those devices.
- Contact Yamaha Music ID support through the regional Yamaha site and explain that another session may remain active.
- Ask support whether they can revoke active sessions for your account and region, and follow any identity-verification steps they require.
Do not describe a universal logout feature as available unless the support representative or your regional account page explicitly confirms it. The documented evidence supports local logout and support escalation, not a guaranteed account-wide revocation.
When the Yamaha reset email does not arrive
A missing message does not necessarily mean that the account is broken. Work through the checks in order so that repeated requests do not leave you using an outdated link.
- Confirm the address. Re-enter the email used when the Yamaha Music ID account was created. A different address, an old work mailbox, or a typo will not receive the link for the account you want.
- Check spam and junk folders. Search the mailbox for Yamaha and for terms such as “password,” “reset,” or “sign in.”
- Review blocked-domain and filtering rules. A company mail gateway, parental-control filter, or custom rule may quarantine automated account messages before they reach the inbox.
- Request one new link. After checking the address and filters, return to Reset Password and submit a fresh request.
- Use the newest message. Keep the latest reset email and follow its link; do not continue with an older message after making another request.
- Allow for mailbox delivery time. Avoid submitting many requests in rapid succession, because that makes it harder to identify which message is current.
If the message still does not arrive, Yamaha’s US account FAQ advises trying password reset first and contacting Yamaha when sign-in remains difficult. Use the support route for the region in which the account was created, because contact options and account systems differ by country.

What to do when the reset link or login fails
The link opens an error or no longer works
- Open the newest reset email rather than an earlier request.
- Copy the complete link into the same browser where you started the request if tapping it in a mail app produces an error.
- Start a new reset request from the correct regional Yamaha portal.
- If the new link also fails, provide Yamaha support with the account email and the exact error text, without sending your password.
The new password is rejected
- Check whether the page displays minimum length, character, or reuse requirements.
- Make sure you are signing in to the same regional Yamaha service where the password was changed.
- Enter the email address exactly as registered; changing capitalization or using an alternate address can lead you to a different account or a failed login.
- Use the reset flow again only after confirming that you are on the intended Yamaha Music ID page.
You no longer control the account email
Email recovery requires access to the registered mailbox. If that mailbox was closed, compromised, or changed, explain the situation to Yamaha’s regional Music ID support team. Do not try to bypass verification by creating a new address in the reset form; the link is intended for the address already associated with the account.

Regional differences matter
Yamaha Music ID is region-specific. A page found through a search engine may belong to a different country than the one used at registration. Differences can include the sign-in URL, the wording of buttons, the participating Yamaha services, available account fields, and the support contact method.
Before troubleshooting, identify the region connected to the account:
- Recall the country selected during registration.
- Use the Yamaha website and Music ID portal for that country.
- Look for the regional account FAQ or support page if a control is missing.
- Tell support the country or region, the Yamaha service involved, and whether you are signed in anywhere.
A regional page may use slightly different wording while retaining the same concepts: Reset Password for a forgotten credential, Change Password for a signed-in user, and ordinary logout for the current session.

Protect the account after changing the password
Once access is restored, finish the account cleanup instead of stopping at the first successful login.
- Verify the recovery email. Open My Account and check the Email Address area so future reset links go to a mailbox you control.
- Use a unique password. Do not reuse the Yamaha password on email, shopping, cloud-storage, or other music accounts.
- Update saved credentials. If your browser or password manager retained the old password, replace that entry before the next login.
- Check shared devices. Sign out of Yamaha on computers, tablets, and phones that other people can access.
- Close browsers after logout. This follows Yamaha’s privacy guidance and reduces the chance that a shared browser restores account pages.
- Contact support about unknown access. If you see account changes you did not make or cannot identify a remaining session, report those facts through the regional Yamaha Music ID support channel.
A password manager or another security product is optional; neither is required for the Yamaha recovery process. The essential controls are the registered email address, the Yamaha reset or change-password page, local logout, and regional support when session status is uncertain.

What the official guidance establishes
The documented Yamaha process clearly establishes password recovery through Reset Password and Send Password Reset Link, with delivery to the registered email address. It also identifies My Account → Change Password for users who can sign in, and it advises logging out and closing the browser window.
It does not establish a published, universal control for signing out every other Yamaha session, nor does it state that a password change automatically revokes all existing sessions. For that reason, account recovery, local logout, and support-assisted session removal should be treated as three distinct actions.
