Its official instructions for a corrupted-save error tell you to delete the console’s saved data and restart the game; GT7 then automatically downloads saved data from its servers. That is a recovery step, not a reliable way to start a new career. If progress is missing or Café Menu Books are blocked, use the official recovery-request route where eligible—and check your local and PlayStation Plus cloud copies before deleting anything.
What “resetting” GT7 can mean
There are two different situations: trying to fix a corrupted save, and trying to erase progress for a clean start. Gran Turismo’s official instructions cover the first, not a dependable full reset.

| Fix a corrupted-save error | Delete the console save data, then relaunch GT7 so it can download saved data from Gran Turismo 7 servers. | This is a recovery procedure; the server copy may restore the existing progress. Gran Turismo 7 Save Data Recovery Request. |

Use the official steps for a corrupted-save error
Follow this sequence only when GT7 reports corrupted saved data. Gran Turismo’s recovery page says the saved data will be automatically downloaded again from GT7 servers, so check whether the issue is resolved after that download.
- Close Gran Turismo 7.
- Open PlayStation Settings and delete Gran Turismo 7’s saved data from the console. Be certain you are deleting the intended local copy.
- Restart Gran Turismo 7.
- Allow the game to download its saved data from Gran Turismo 7 servers, then check whether the corrupted-save problem is resolved.
Because the game re-downloads saved data from its servers, this process should not be treated as a way to permanently erase your existing profile. The official page also suggests reinstalling GT7 if the game will not load or a particular race, licence test, or mission will not start. If reinstalling does not resolve that problem, it directs players to PlayStation Support.

If progress is missing or Café Menu Books are blocked
Gran Turismo lists lost game progress and inability to progress through Café Menu Books among the problems for which players may request save-data recovery. If the listed troubleshooting steps do not resolve your issue, use the official save-data recovery request page.
Requests associated with problems on the page’s Known Issues list are not accepted through the request route because those issues are planned for a future update. The page does not guarantee that progress can be recovered or state how long a request will take.

Check your PlayStation Plus cloud save before deleting data
A GT7 save may involve more than the copy stored on the console. PlayStation Plus online storage is managed separately, with different instructions for PS5 and PS4. Before deleting or replacing saved data, identify which copy you are handling and whether you want to keep it. Deleting a console copy does not establish that a cloud copy or GT7 server copy has also been removed.
Recommended Free Tools
- PlayStation’s instructions for downloading saved data from online storage to PS5 or PS4 explain the platform-specific steps.
- Do not treat a cloud-save download or deletion as a guaranteed way to reset GT7’s server-backed progression.
- If you are troubleshooting corruption, remember that GT7’s official recovery steps say saved data is downloaded again from its servers when the game restarts.
Does a new PlayStation Network account guarantee a fresh GT7 profile?
The reviewed official guidance does not say that creating another PlayStation Network account guarantees an independent Gran Turismo 7 progression profile, or identify it as a supported full-reset method. Treat that approach as unverified rather than a guaranteed solution.
