First identify the exact model printed on the earbuds, charging case, or retail packaging. Airdopes Plus 214 resets with a button on the case, while Airdopes Plus 318 resets with the touch controls on the earbuds. Using the wrong sequence can leave the pairing problem unresolved.
Before any reset, remove the existing Airdopes entry from your phone or computer’s Bluetooth history. Then use the instructions for your model, wait for the specified LED confirmation, and pair the earbuds as a new Bluetooth device.

Identify the exact Airdopes Plus model first
“Airdopes Plus” is a product family name, not one set of reset instructions. The model number may be printed on the underside of the charging case, on an earbud, or on the original box. Look for a number such as 214, 318, 222, 311, or 221. Also note the Bluetooth name that previously appeared on your device; it often contains the same model number, but the printed label is the safer way to identify the hardware.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDo not apply the 214 button procedure to a 318 pair, or the 318 touch procedure to a model that uses a case button. The location of the reset control, whether the earbuds must be inside or outside the case, and the LED confirmation all change by model.

Remove the old Bluetooth record
Open Bluetooth settings on the phone, tablet, computer, or other device that cannot connect. Select the saved Airdopes entry and choose Forget, Unpair, or Remove this device. The exact label differs by operating system. Remove the record before resetting; otherwise the device may continue trying to use a stale pairing record.
Set up a clean pairing attempt
Turn Bluetooth on and keep the earbuds and the connecting device close together. boAt’s support guidance uses a maximum distance of 10 metres and advises removing obstructions between the earbuds and the device. After the reset, the earbuds must be out of the case and in pairing mode before you select them from the Bluetooth list.
Reset controls by model
| Model | Reset control | Earbud position during reset | Confirmation and next action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airdopes Plus 214 | Case reset button | Both earbuds in the case; lid open | Case LED rapidly flashes five times; close lid for five seconds, then remove earbuds and pair |
| Airdopes Plus 318 | Touch control (CTC) on both earbuds | Both earbuds outside the case | Red LEDs rapidly flash five times; return earbuds to case, close lid for five seconds, then pair |
| Airdopes Plus 222 | Case reset button | Earbuds in the case; lid open | Case and earbuds show rapid LED flashes; close and reopen the lid, then pair |
| Airdopes Plus 311 | Earbud touch control | Earbuds outside the case | Follow the touch-reset indication, return earbuds to case, close lid for five seconds, then pair |
| Airdopes Plus 221 | Case-button reset instructions | Use the 221 support procedure for the button and earbud position | After reset, the boAt Hearables app also offers Smart Diagnostics for connectivity issues |
The table is a decision aid, not a universal shortcut. For models not listed, use the reset instructions for the exact model rather than borrowing a sequence from a similar-looking pair.

How to reset Airdopes Plus 214
The 214 procedure uses the physical reset button on the charging case. The earbuds must be seated correctly in the case while the lid remains open.
- In Bluetooth settings, forget the saved device named Airdopes 214.
- Remove both earbuds from the charging case.
- Place both earbuds back into the case in their correct left and right orientation. Leave the lid open.
- Press and hold the case reset button for 10 seconds.
- Watch the case LED. A successful reset is indicated by the LED rapidly flashing five times.
- Close the case lid and wait five seconds.
- Open the case, take out both earbuds, and make a fresh Bluetooth connection attempt. Select the Airdopes 214 entry when it appears.
If the device asks for a passcode during this 214 pairing attempt, boAt’s 214 instructions specify 0000. Treat that as a 214-specific fallback, not a code that applies to every Airdopes Plus model.

214 reset details that commonly cause confusion
The 10-second hold is performed with the earbuds inside the case and the lid open. Holding the button with the earbuds outside, or closing the lid before the LED confirmation, does not follow the published 214 sequence. Wait for the five rapid flashes before moving to the five-second closed-lid step.
How to reset Airdopes Plus 318
The 318 does not use the case button for its reset. Its reset control is the touch surface, called the CTC in boAt’s instructions, on each earbud. Both earbuds must be out of the case.
- Forget Airdopes 318 from the phone or computer’s Bluetooth pairing history.
- Take both earbuds out of the charging case.
- Long-touch the CTC on both earbuds for five seconds.
- Confirm the reset by watching for the red LEDs to rapidly flash five times.
- Return both earbuds to the case in the correct orientation.
- Close the lid and wait five seconds.
- Take the earbuds out again and select Airdopes 318 from the available Bluetooth devices.
If an earbud’s LED does not blink, the 318 guidance says to try manually powering that earbud on before continuing with the reset sequence. Both earbuds need to respond to the touch action for the procedure to complete as described.
Why the 318 sequence must happen outside the case
The 318 reset command is delivered through the earbud touch controls. Leaving the earbuds in the case prevents you from performing the required five-second touch action, while returning them to the case afterward gives the pair the specified closed-lid interval before a new pairing attempt.
Other Airdopes Plus models
Several other products carry the Airdopes Plus name but use different controls. Use the model number printed on your hardware to choose the relevant procedure.

Airdopes Plus 222
The 222 uses a case-button reset with the earbuds inside and the lid open. boAt’s 222 instructions describe rapid LED flashes from the case and earbuds as the reset indication. After that indication, close and reopen the case lid, then remove the earbuds and try pairing again.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The 222 support page warns that the case can enter sleep mode after 15 minutes with the lid open. If you have left it open for a long period and the expected indication does not occur, close the lid, reopen it, and restart the model-specific sequence rather than assuming the reset completed.
Airdopes Plus 311
The 311 uses a touch-control reset after the earbuds are removed from the case. Complete the touch action specified for the 311, then put both earbuds back in the case in the correct orientation. Close the lid for five seconds, take the earbuds out, and make a new Bluetooth connection attempt. Do not substitute the 318 five-second touch duration unless the 311 instructions for your unit explicitly specify it.
Airdopes Plus 221
The 221 support instructions use the case button and include a model-specific reset sequence. Follow the 221 page for the required earbud position, lid state, button action, and LED confirmation. After resetting, the boAt Hearables app includes Smart Diagnostics, which can help investigate a connectivity problem on this model.
When your model number is unclear
Pause instead of guessing. Check the underside of the case, the earbud markings, and the packaging for the number. If those markings are unreadable, use the Bluetooth name only as a clue and confirm it against the shape or documentation supplied with the pair. A reset sequence copied from another Airdopes Plus model may use the wrong control or the wrong earbud position.

Pair the earbuds after a successful reset
A reset clears the previous pairing state; it does not automatically reconnect the earbuds to your phone or computer. The first connection afterward must be made as a new Bluetooth pairing.
- Complete the exact model reset and wait through its required closed-lid or lid-reopen interval.
- Remove both earbuds from the case.
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on the connecting device.
- Open the device’s list of available Bluetooth devices and wait for the matching model name, such as Airdopes 214 or Airdopes 318.
- Select that entry and wait for the connection confirmation before starting audio.
Keep the earbuds within 10 metres of the device and remove physical obstructions while pairing. If the matching name is not listed, turn Bluetooth off and on again on the phone or computer, then repeat the scan with the earbuds out of the case.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. If the earbuds still will not connect
The old name is still shown as connected
Return to Bluetooth settings and remove every saved entry for the affected Airdopes model, not only a currently disconnected listing. Then repeat the model-specific reset. A reset performed while the old record remains saved can be followed by another failed automatic connection because the device is still using its previous pairing information.
No Airdopes name appears in the Bluetooth list
Check that both earbuds were removed from the case after the reset and that Bluetooth is on. Keep the device within 10 metres and remove obstructions. For the 318, inspect the earbuds for the expected red LED flashes; if one earbud’s LED never blinks, manually power it on as directed by the 318 guidance, then repeat the reset and pairing attempt.
Only one earbud responds
Stop and verify that both earbuds are seated in the correct orientation during a case-based reset, or that both earbuds receive the touch command during a touch-based reset. The 214 and 222 procedures require the earbuds inside the case; the 318 and 311 procedures require them outside. A mismatch in position can leave one side out of the reset process.

The LED confirmation never appears
Do not move to the next step until the model’s confirmation has occurred. The 214 expects five rapid flashes from the case LED. The 318 expects five rapid red flashes from the earbud LEDs. The 222 instructions describe rapid flashes from the case and earbuds. For the 311 and 221, use the confirmation described in their model-specific support instructions rather than inferring success from a different model’s light pattern.
The case has been open for a long time
This is especially relevant to the 222. Its support guidance says the case can enter sleep mode after 15 minutes with the lid open. Close and reopen the lid, then begin the 222 procedure again so the case is in the operating state expected by the instructions.
A passcode prompt appears
For Airdopes Plus 214, enter 0000 if the device requests a passcode, as specified in boAt’s 214 instructions. Do not assume that code is a universal Airdopes Plus requirement; other models may use a different pairing flow or no passcode prompt.
The connection drops after pairing
Keep the earbuds and the device within the 10-metre guidance and remove obstructions. Confirm that the earbuds remain in pairing or connected mode and that the selected Bluetooth entry matches the exact model. If the issue is with an Airdopes Plus 221, run Smart Diagnostics in the boAt Hearables app after completing the 221 reset procedure.
When a reset is not the right next step
A reset addresses a pairing-state problem. It is not a substitute for identifying the model or for following the LED and lid timing in that model’s instructions. Do not buy a replacement pair merely because an unverified reset sequence failed. First confirm the model, forget the old Bluetooth record, complete the correct reset, and retry pairing within the stated range.
If the correct procedure produces no LED response, one earbud remains unresponsive, or the pair still cannot be discovered after the Bluetooth and range checks, consult boAt support for that exact model. A replacement decision makes sense only after model-specific troubleshooting has failed or the hardware is visibly damaged; the Airdopes Plus name alone is not enough to select a compatible replacement.
Fast model-specific reference
| If your label says | Use this control | Critical timing or position |
|---|---|---|
| 214 | Case reset button | Earbuds inside, lid open; hold 10 seconds; five rapid case flashes; close lid five seconds |
| 318 | Touch control on both earbuds | Earbuds outside; touch five seconds; five rapid red flashes; close lid five seconds afterward |
| 222 | Case reset button | Earbuds inside, lid open; rapid case-and-earbud flashes; close and reopen lid; avoid 15-minute open-lid sleep |
| 311 | Touch control | Earbuds outside; use the 311 touch sequence; close lid five seconds afterward |
| 221 | Case-button procedure | Follow the 221-specific position and LED instructions; Smart Diagnostics is available in the boAt Hearables app |
The safest path is therefore: identify the number, forget the old Bluetooth record, perform only that model’s reset, verify its LED signal, and pair the matching name as a new device.
