How do I research UMS Integration before investing? Start with the correct SGX issuer (UMS Integration Limited, ticker 558), read its latest results and annual report, reconcile every number with the prior year, then test cash flow, segment exposure, dilution and valuation using dated primary documents. UMS’s FY2025 results show modest growth but sharply lower free cash flow, and an October 2026 placement changed the share count. The available company and SGX disclosures support a disciplined research process; they do not, by themselves, establish that the shares are attractively valued or warrant a buy or sell decision.
1. Confirm that you are researching the right security
UMS Integration Limited is listed on the Singapore Exchange under ticker 558, security code SG1J94892465. Begin at the company’s UMS investor-relations page, which links company information and its announcement list. Then use the SGX issuer search to retrieve the corresponding filings. Checking the legal issuer name, ticker and security code prevents a common error: attributing a result, dividend or placement to a different company with a similar name.

For the period covered here, the FY2025 annual report covers the year ended 31 December 2025 and was filed on 13 April 2026. The FY2025 full-year results announcement was broadcast on 27 February 2026. Record both the period end and filing date whenever you save a figure; a result published in 2026 can still describe operations from 2025.

For each filing, note the title, publication date, reporting period, currency, whether figures are continuing or discontinued operations, and whether a number is basic, diluted or pro forma. This avoids mixing the FY2025 annual report with a later announcement that includes the January 2026 bonus issue or October 2026 placement.

2. Use a repeatable primary-source workflow
A good process separates reported history from management expectations and from industry forecasts quoted in company material. Keep a worksheet with the reporting period, currency, basic or diluted share-count basis, corporate actions and filing date for every number.
- Download the latest results announcement. Capture revenue, profit, segment figures, cash flow, inventory and capital expenditure. Note whether each amount is for a quarter, half-year or full year.
- Read the annual report, not only the headline release. Check accounting policies, notes on customers and geographical revenue, borrowings, commitments, related parties, risks and the dividend policy. Reconcile the annual-report totals to the results announcement.
- Build a two-year comparison. Put the current period beside the prior period using the same currency and accounting definition. Calculate the percentage change yourself and preserve the company’s stated values.
- Split the business by segment and region. A consolidated increase can conceal a decline in an important product line or market. Ask whether a change reflects volume, price, mix, timing or a one-off item.
- Reconcile profit to cash. Compare net attributable profit with operating cash flow and free cash flow. Investigate working-capital movements, especially inventory and receivables, and distinguish maintenance capital expenditure from expansion spending.
- Check every capital action. Look for bonus issues, placements, rights issues, buybacks and new shares issued for acquisitions or employee plans. Recalculate per-share metrics on the appropriate post-action basis.
- Separate outlook from fact. Label management’s comments as management statements. Label an external forecast quoted in a shareholder letter as an industry forecast, not as a UMS forecast.
- Refresh price-sensitive information. Before making a decision, obtain the current share price, market capitalisation, latest share count and any filing after the documents described below. Those inputs are required for valuation.
Use a simple evidence column beside each conclusion: “reported,” “calculated,” “management claim,” or “still unknown.” For example, FY2025 revenue is reported; a year-on-year percentage is calculated from reported values; a robust 2026 demand outlook is management’s description of customer forecasts; and the placement’s proceeds allocation remains unknown until the complete documents are reviewed. This labeling keeps a compelling narrative from being mistaken for proof.
3. What UMS actually reported for FY2025
The following are historical company-reported figures for the year ended 31 December 2025. Amounts are in Singapore dollars.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →| Measure | FY2025 | FY2024 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | S$251.1 million | S$242.1 million | Up 4% |
| Net attributable profit | S$41.6 million | S$40.6 million | Up 2% |
| Net cash from operating activities | S$39.7 million | S$55.2 million | Down year on year |
| Free cash flow | S$2.1 million | S$22.9 million | Down substantially |
Revenue therefore grew faster than profit, but only modestly, while cash generation weakened. Do not describe the result simply as “profit growth”: the cash-flow trend is a separate part of the investment case. On the reported numbers, net attributable profit was roughly one-sixth of revenue in FY2025, but that ratio is not a substitute for a full margin analysis because the cited review does not provide every operating-cost detail.
When rebuilding the table, check whether the company’s percentages are rounded. A 4% increase from S$242.1 million to S$251.1 million and a 2% increase from S$40.6 million to S$41.6 million are rounded descriptions, so small differences can result when you calculate from displayed figures.
Segment and regional mix
| Area | FY2025 movement | Reported detail | Question to investigate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Semiconductor revenue | Up 5% | Component sales up 10% to S$121.2 million; integrated-system sales down 1% to S$93.5 million | Which product line is driving orders, margins and capacity use? |
| Aerospace | Down 7% | No separate dollar amount stated in the cited FY2025 review | Is the decline temporary, customer-specific or structural? |
| Malaysia | Up 91% | Regional revenue change | Was growth driven by a new facility, customer transfer, timing or a low prior-year base? |
| Taiwan | Up 10% | Regional revenue change | Can demand persist across the next reporting periods? |
| United States | Down 21% | Regional revenue change | What happened to customer activity and order timing? |
| Singapore | Down 4% | Regional revenue change | Does the decline reflect mix or lower underlying demand? |
These changes are prompts for further checking, not proof of future growth or decline. In the annual report, look for customer concentration, end-market exposure, order timing, intercompany eliminations and explanations for the large Malaysian increase and US decrease.
Also check whether geographic revenue is presented by customer location, billing location or operating location. The interpretation of a 91% Malaysian increase depends on that definition. Compare the note’s basis across years, and do not add regional figures yourself if the annual report includes eliminations or rounding that make them non-additive.

4. Test whether accounting profit is becoming cash
Operating cash flow fell from S$55.2 million in FY2024 to S$39.7 million in FY2025. Free cash flow fell from S$22.9 million to S$2.1 million. UMS attributed the lower free cash flow mainly to a higher inventory balance and capital expenditure for its Penang expansion, which is intended to support an expected production ramp-up.
That explanation gives you a specific follow-up test rather than a reason to ignore the decline. In subsequent reports, check whether:
- inventory grows more slowly than revenue or begins to convert into shipments;
- the Penang facility reaches the utilisation and production levels described by management;
- capital expenditure tapers after the expansion phase or remains elevated;
- receivables, payables and contract assets explain any further gap between profit and operating cash; and
- free cash flow recovers without relying on one-off working-capital releases.
Compare operating cash flow with net attributable profit over several periods, not just one year. A positive operating figure is useful, but the FY2025 free-cash-flow result shows why expansion spending and inventory can materially change the cash available to fund dividends, debt reduction or further investment.
Separate cash flow from financing activity as well. A placement can increase cash even while operations consume cash, so a stronger cash balance after October 2026 would not, by itself, prove that the business converted profit efficiently. Read the cash-flow statement’s operating, investing and financing sections together and reconcile the closing cash balance.
5. Understand the dividend and corporate-action history
The board proposed a final FY2025 dividend of 2.0 Singapore cents per ordinary share. Together with other declared and proposed FY2025 distributions, that brings the FY2025 total to 5.0 cents per share. Treat the final amount as a proposal until the relevant approval and payment process is complete, and treat the total as a historical distribution rather than a promised future yield.
The FY2025 annual report states that dividend decisions depend on earnings, financial position, capital expenditure, future expansion and investment plans, among other factors. When assessing income, compare the distribution with free cash flow and the company’s expansion requirements; do not annualise a single proposed payment without checking the latest announcement.
UMS completed a 1-for-4 bonus issue in January 2026. A bonus issue changes the number of shares and the per-share presentation without, by itself, creating new economic value. Make sure historical earnings per share, dividends per share and prices are adjusted consistently when you compare periods.
Rank #3
A practical check is to write the share-count basis next to every dividend number. A pre-bonus historical amount, a post-bonus quoted amount and a post-placement amount can all look like “cents per share” while referring to different numbers of shares. Confirm ex-date, entitlement date and payment details in the relevant announcement rather than relying on a data vendor’s adjustment.

An October 2026 SGX placement listing record reports 52,941,100 new shares issued at an offer price of S$2.66 per share. The same record lists 888,167,856 existing outstanding shares and says the new shares were listed and quoted. This is a material share-count event, so per-share calculations made before the placement may no longer be comparable.
| Placement item | Recorded term | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| New shares | 52,941,100 | Add to the applicable pre-placement share count only after confirming the basis and any other changes. |
| Existing outstanding shares | 888,167,856 | Verify whether this is the exact pre-placement issued and outstanding basis used in the listing record. |
| Offer price | S$2.66 per share | This is the placement price, not necessarily the current market price or a valuation measure. |
| Implied arithmetic total | 941,108,956 shares | 888,167,856 plus 52,941,100, assuming no other intervening change; confirm against the latest SGX and company filings. |
The reviewed listing record does not establish the complete placement rationale or how proceeds are allocated. Do not infer that the money funded Penang expansion, working capital, acquisitions or debt repayment. Read the full placement attachment and subsequent company disclosures for the stated use of proceeds, issue conditions, allotment details and any restrictions.
For scale, multiplying the listed 52,941,100 shares by S$2.66 gives an arithmetic gross amount of about S$140.8 million before transaction costs or other adjustments. Use that only as a calculation from the recorded terms, not as a substitute for the company’s stated net proceeds. The exact proceeds, expenses and allocation must come from the complete placement documents.
For dilution analysis, recalculate earnings per share, market capitalisation and dividend per share using a clearly dated post-placement share count. If you compare with FY2025 figures, state whether you are using the historical basic count, a diluted count or a pro-forma post-placement count.

7. Separate management’s outlook from evidence
In its FY2025 Letter to Shareholders, management said UMS entered FY2026 with a renewed three-year integrated-system contract and that new product pipelines were progressing. It also reported that its two key global customers forecast robust demand growth for 2026 and 2027. These are management-reported statements, not independently verified orders or guaranteed revenue.
The letter identified advanced packaging associated with high-bandwidth memory and advanced logic as an opportunity. To test that opportunity, look for subsequent disclosures on customer qualification, design wins, shipment volume, gross margin, capacity utilisation and cash collection. A pipeline or customer forecast becomes more decision-useful when later filings show orders and recognised revenue.

Management’s stated priorities are introduced by the exact words Our strategy remains clear:
—Andy Luong, Chief Executive Officer, UMS Integration Limited, FY2025 shareholder letter, 2026. The listed priorities are to deepen partnerships with key customers, capture advanced semiconductor packaging opportunities, improve manufacturing execution, focus on high value-add critical semiconductor components and maintain strong financial management. Use these priorities as a checklist against operating results rather than as independent validation of execution.
The same letter cites SEMI’s forecast of US$156 billion in global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales by 2027. That is an industry forecast cited by UMS in 2026; it is not a UMS sales forecast and does not guarantee UMS growth. Compare the forecast with UMS’s own reported orders, segment revenue and capacity evidence before assigning it weight in a valuation.
When reading outlook language, distinguish a contract, a forecast and a pipeline. A renewed contract may support visibility, but its duration, volume, pricing and termination terms still matter. A customer forecast is not the same as a purchase order, and a product pipeline is not the same as qualified production. Record exactly which of those three descriptions appears in each filing.

The available documents do not establish UMS’s current share price, market capitalisation, valuation multiples or peer valuation as of 13 October 2026. Consequently, they cannot support a conclusion that the shares are cheap, expensive or fairly valued.
Obtain a dated market price and the correct post-placement share count, then calculate:
- Market capitalisation: share price multiplied by the applicable issued and outstanding shares.
- Price-to-earnings: market capitalisation divided by attributable profit, using a matching period and clearly stated basic or diluted share basis.
- Price-to-free-cash-flow: market capitalisation divided by free cash flow, while explaining whether the period includes expansion spending.
- Dividend yield: the annualised dividend you deliberately choose divided by the dated share price; identify whether the dividend is proposed, declared or paid.
- Enterprise-value measures: only after checking cash, borrowings and lease liabilities in the latest balance sheet.
For a peer comparison, use the same reporting period, currency, accounting measure, share-count convention and treatment of exceptional items. A headline multiple can mislead if one company reports trailing profit, another uses a forecast, or one has just issued shares.

Because FY2025 free cash flow was only S$2.1 million, a price-to-free-cash-flow ratio based on that single year could be unusually high or not meaningful. Show the calculation and explain the expansion context instead of silently replacing it with operating cash flow. Similarly, a dividend yield based on the proposed 5.0 cents per share should be labeled as proposed or declared and adjusted for the applicable share basis.

9. A practical pre-investment checklist
- Issuer confirmed as UMS Integration Limited, SGX ticker 558, security code SG1J94892465.
- Latest full-year results and annual report downloaded, with filing dates recorded.
- FY2025 revenue and profit reconciled to FY2024 on the same accounting basis.
- Semiconductor components, integrated systems, aerospace and regional revenue reviewed separately.
- Inventory, capital expenditure, Penang expansion progress and free-cash-flow conversion checked.
- Dividend proposal distinguished from paid history and future expectations.
- January 2026 1-for-4 bonus issue reflected consistently in per-share comparisons.
- October 2026 placement terms verified in the full attachment, including proceeds use and final share count.
- Management’s contract, customer-demand and advanced-packaging statements tested against later filings.
- Current price, market capitalisation, valuation multiples and peer data obtained from dated sources.
- Base, optimistic and adverse cases written down, with the evidence that would make you change each case.
Add a date to every checklist item. A valuation prepared before the October placement can become stale even if the FY2025 profit number has not changed. Likewise, a later announcement can alter the latest share count, dividend status or outlook without changing the historical annual report.
10. What the evidence can—and cannot—tell you
UMS reported FY2025 revenue of S$251.1 million and net attributable profit of S$41.6 million, with semiconductor components growing while integrated-system sales were slightly lower and aerospace sales declining. Operating cash flow remained positive, but free cash flow dropped to S$2.1 million as inventory and Penang expansion spending increased. The October placement added 52,941,100 shares at S$2.66 according to the SGX listing record, making dilution and proceeds use essential checks.
Those facts define a research agenda, not an investment verdict. A decision on whether UMS is a good investment requires current price and share-count data, a defensible valuation, evidence that expansion converts into profitable cash flow, and a view on customer, geographic and semiconductor-cycle risks. Until those checks are complete, the responsible conclusion is that the primary-source workflow is available but a buy-or-sell recommendation is not established by the cited disclosures.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is UMS Integration a good investment?
The FY2025 disclosures alone cannot answer that price-sensitive question. They show S$251.1 million of revenue and S$41.6 million of net attributable profit, but free cash flow fell to S$2.1 million and the October 2026 placement changed the share count. You still need a dated market price, post-placement valuation, customer and capacity evidence, and a cash-flow assessment.
What should I check before buying UMS shares?
Confirm ticker 558 and security code SG1J94892465, read the FY2025 results and annual report, compare segment and regional trends, investigate inventory and Penang capital spending, verify the January 2026 bonus issue, and review the full October 2026 placement documents. Then calculate valuation with a current price and post-placement share count.
How did UMS perform in FY2025?
Revenue was S$251.1 million, up 4% from S$242.1 million, while net attributable profit was S$41.6 million, up 2%. Semiconductor revenue rose 5%; component sales increased 10% to S$121.2 million, while integrated-system sales fell 1% to S$93.5 million. Aerospace revenue declined 7%.
Why did UMS free cash flow fall?
Free cash flow declined from S$22.9 million in FY2024 to S$2.1 million in FY2025. UMS attributed the lower figure mainly to a higher inventory balance and capital expenditure for its Penang expansion. Check later inventory conversion, utilisation and capital-spending trends before deciding whether the decline is temporary.
What was the October 2026 UMS placement?
The SGX listing record reports 52,941,100 new shares at S$2.66 each, alongside 888,167,856 existing outstanding shares. Confirm the final post-placement count, issue conditions and stated use of proceeds in the complete attachment. The placement price is not automatically the current market price or fair value.
Is the 5.0 Singapore-cent dividend guaranteed?
No. The board proposed a 2.0-cent final FY2025 dividend, bringing declared and proposed FY2025 distributions to 5.0 cents per share. The annual report says dividends depend on earnings, financial position, capital expenditure, expansion and investment plans, among other factors. Treat the amount as a proposal and historical distribution, not a promised yield.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Research UMS Integration through its SGX filings and investor-relations materials, not through a headline multiple alone. FY2025 brought modest revenue and profit growth but much weaker free cash flow, while the January bonus issue and October placement require careful share-count adjustments. Current price, valuation and proceeds allocation still need dated primary-source checks, so these disclosures support a research process—not a buy or sell conclusion.
