It can make sense on a brand-new account when the live banner features a character you genuinely want. It is usually a bad trade on an established account because you give up characters, resources, upgrades and progress without any guaranteed result.
Use the live Scout screen as your source of truth. Check its rates, expiry date and Scout Point rules before spending anything, and protect any account you might keep before experimenting. Do not treat deleting the app, transferring data or linking Steam as a reversible backup.
What rerolling actually does
A reroll is a repeated opening-account cycle:
- Start a fresh game session or account.
- Complete the initial tutorial and setup far enough to receive the opening rewards or Scout access.
- Spend the available currency on the current Scout.
- Keep the result if it contains the character or combination you wanted; otherwise, abandon that low-investment start and repeat.
The goal is a preferable opening roster, not a guaranteed “strong account.” There is no published success percentage, expected number of attempts or permanent best target. Character balance, rates and banner conditions change, so a tier list or a video made for an earlier event cannot establish what is best today.
Rerolling is also different from moving one account between devices. Bandai Namco defines data transfer as moving game data from one mobile device to another; after a transfer, the old device cannot access that account. That is migration, not a safe duplicate-account rollback. Read the official explanation before touching transfer settings: What is a Data Transfer?

When rerolling is worth the trade
A new account with a compelling live banner
Rerolling has its clearest value when the account is only minutes old, contains little progress and has not accumulated characters or scarce resources. If the current Scout includes a favorite character, a role your team lacks or a unit you specifically want to play, repeating the opening pulls costs mainly time. Even then, inspect the in-game rates and rules first rather than relying on an old recommendation.
An established account
On a developed account, the cost is much higher. You would be abandoning your existing roster, levels, medals, resources, league progress and any limited-time rewards. A new opening pull may be exciting, but it does not replace months of progression. Unless you have deliberately decided that a completely fresh start matters more than everything already earned, keep the established account.

A banner that does not match your goal
If the live Scout has no character you actually want, rerolling only creates a loop of attempts with no defined stopping point. Waiting for a suitable event is more rational than deleting or sacrificing an account for a banner you do not value.
A practical decision test
| Question | Reroll is more defensible when… | Keep the account when… |
|---|---|---|
| How much progress exists? | The account is brand new and has little invested time. | You have meaningful characters, upgrades, currency or league progress. |
| Does the live Scout matter to you? | It contains a specific character or playstyle you want now. | You are chasing a generic “best” unit from an old list. |
| Are the terms clear? | You have checked the current rate, expiry and Scout Point treatment in game. | You have not confirmed what happens when the event ends. |
| What is your time budget? | You can repeat a few short attempts and stop at a defined threshold. | You would spend hours repeating without a stopping rule. |
| What would be lost? | Almost nothing beyond the opening session. | The account contains limited characters, resources or purchases. |
Check the live Scout before starting
Scout banners are temporary. The official announcement archive tells players to check rates on the relevant Scout screen, warns that event details can change and notes that Scout Points reset when a Scout expires: Bounty Rush announcements. Open the banner in your current game and record:
- The exact featured characters and their displayed rates.
- The Scout’s closing date and time, including your local time zone.
- How many pulls are needed for any exchange, guarantee or point milestone.
- Whether points carry over or reset at expiry; the official notice says resets can occur, so do not assume persistence.
- Any one-time opening rewards you would have to reclaim on a new start.
Do not publish or follow a universal “reroll for this character” rule. A target is a personal choice tied to the current event, your preferred roles and the time you are willing to spend. If the rate or point language is unclear, use the Scout’s own details rather than an older guide.
Protect an account you may want to keep
Record transfer information before experimenting
Transfer settings and information must already be configured before a move. Bandai Namco says support cannot disclose lost transfer information, and an interrupted transfer can invalidate a transfer code. Its notes are available at Data Transfer notes. Treat those details as account-security information, not as a reroll button.
Do not use deletion as a casual reset
Deleting the app is not proof that server data has been reset. The official account-deletion process is a request made through the app. Once approved, it permanently deletes the game data; unused in-app currency is lost, and a subscription can continue billing until you cancel it through the platform where you purchased it. Bandai Namco’s wording is explicit: “Once your account deletion request is approved, it cannot be cancelled.” Read the full policy at Account Deletion.

A cautious reroll procedure
The exact buttons and rewards can change with game updates, operating system and event timing. The following is a current-safe workflow rather than a claim that every device displays identical labels.

- Write down your keep account. Note the platform, account sign-in method, characters, resources and any transfer information you have configured. Do this before opening account-management menus.
- Choose a target from the live Scout. Confirm the featured unit, displayed rate, expiry and point rules in the Scout screen. Set a stopping condition, such as keeping the first start that meets your personal target, before you begin.
- Create a genuinely separate fresh start. Use the game’s available sign-in or account-start controls for your platform. A reinstall alone may leave server data untouched. If the game presents a transfer prompt, do not accept it on the device or session you intend to use for a new start.
- Complete only the opening content required for summons. Follow the current tutorial and setup until the game grants the available opening currency or Scout access. Community walkthroughs often describe this loop, but their menus and reward amounts age quickly.
- Claim the rewards shown for that start. Check the in-game mailbox, missions and beginner screens that are actually available. Do not assume an old guide’s reward total still applies.
- Scout and inspect the result. Compare what you pulled with the target you wrote down. Record the result if you are making several attempts so you do not lose track of which session is which.
- Keep or abandon deliberately. If the result meets your target, secure that account and stop. If it does not, abandon only the low-investment fresh start using the platform’s supported account controls. Do not delete your keeper, transfer it away or link it to another service just to begin the next attempt.
- Stop at your time limit. If the banner expires, your target becomes unrealistic or the repetition stops being fun, keep the best legitimate start you have or wait for a different event.
A community video titled “How To Reroll in One Piece Bounty Rush!” was published in August 2023. It can show the historical idea of repeating the opening cycle, but do not treat its button-by-button sequence, reward amounts or reset method as current instructions.
Mobile transfer and Steam Multi-Login cautions
Moving between mobile devices
Data transfer moves an account; it does not create a protected copy that you can roll back to later. After a transfer, the old device cannot access that account according to Bandai Namco’s data-transfer definition. Verify which device will become active and keep your transfer information available before confirming anything.

Using Steam
The official Steam and Multi-Login information says most account data is shared between mobile and Steam, while Rainbow Diamonds and certain rankings are separate. It also warns that linking a new Bounty Rush account to a Steam account cannot be undone by unlinking: Steam and Multi-Login details.
That creates two reroll hazards. First, a currency balance seen on one platform may not be the balance available on the other. Second, linking the wrong fresh account can permanently attach it to the Steam account you intended to reserve. Decide which account should own the link before confirming it, and do not assume unlinking will restore the previous arrangement.
Common mistakes and what to do instead
| What happened | Why it is a problem | Safer response |
|---|---|---|
| You deleted the app expecting a reset. | Server data may remain, while a valuable account is still exposed to accidental loss. | Reopen the game and use documented account controls; never delete a keeper as an experiment. |
| You accepted a transfer on the wrong device. | The old device may no longer access the account after migration. | Stop before confirming transfers and verify the destination device and credentials. |
| A transfer was interrupted. | Bandai Namco says an interrupted transfer can invalidate the transfer code. | Do not keep guessing codes; use the account information you recorded and the official support path. |
| You lost transfer information. | Support cannot disclose lost transfer information. | Preserve transfer settings and codes before experimenting; there may be no recovery shortcut. |
| You deleted the account and still see subscription charges. | Deletion does not automatically cancel platform-billed subscriptions. | Cancel the subscription through the purchasing platform, then verify its status. |
| The banner expired during your attempts. | Scout Points can reset at expiry and event details can change. | Check the new live Scout screen; do not assume previous points or rates remain. |
| You linked a fresh account to Steam by mistake. | The link cannot be undone simply by unlinking. | Confirm the intended account before linking and contact official support if an error has already occurred. |
| You are rerolling for a stale tier-list ranking. | The ranking may not reflect the current banner, rates or balance. | Choose a target from the live Scout and your own playstyle. |
How to set a sensible stopping rule
Because no reliable success-rate statistic is established, do not calculate a fictional “average number of rerolls.” Decide in advance what would make the next attempt worthwhile. A simple rule is: one target, one banner, one time limit. For example, you might stop at the first account that contains your chosen featured character, or stop after a short session and keep the best result rather than escalating into an endless loop.
Reassess whenever the Scout changes. A point milestone that looked attractive can lose value when the event expires, and a character that was not available yesterday may become the reason to start fresh today. Keep the account that best matches your actual goal, not an imaginary perfect roster.

The real cost of a reroll
The price of a reroll is not just the currency used in the first Scout. It includes the time to download or launch the game, repeat tutorials, claim missions, read notices and compare results. Repeating also has an opportunity cost: that same time could have advanced a keeper through story content, league play, upgrades or event missions. If you are spending money, any purchase made on the abandoned account becomes part of the loss; do not buy anything until you are certain which account you will retain.
There is also a decision cost. Keeping several half-finished starts can make it unclear which sign-in, transfer details or Steam link belongs to which roster. Use a simple note with the account identifier, date, Scout name, result and intended platform. Never store passwords or transfer codes in a public post or send them to another player.
A before-and-after checklist
Before the first attempt
- List the characters, currency, upgrades, league position and purchases on the account you might keep.
- Confirm the live Scout’s featured units, rates, closing time and Scout Point reset language.
- Choose one personal target and a maximum session length.
- Verify that transfer settings are configured and that you know which device will remain active.
- Check whether a subscription is attached and where it would need to be cancelled.
- Decide whether Steam will be used at all; postpone linking until the final account is chosen.
After a successful attempt
- Record the new account’s sign-in and transfer information immediately.
- Confirm that the expected characters and currency appear on the intended platform.
- Do not test the account by transferring it back and forth; a transfer is a move, not a backup.
- Keep screenshots or notes of the live Scout result and expiry if you need to remember why you stopped.
Fresh start versus waiting for another Scout
Waiting is often the better option when the current banner is merely acceptable, its expiry is close, or you cannot explain what success would look like. A reroll has a clear purpose only when the desired unit is available now and the account being replaced is disposable. If you miss the target, keeping a modest start may still be preferable to discarding it repeatedly, especially when the next event could offer a better fit without requiring another reset.
Conversely, a fresh start can be reasonable when you have just installed the game, have no meaningful progress, and want to learn the controls with a particular featured character. Set expectations correctly: the result is chance-based, no target is guaranteed, and the live Scout can change before you finish repeating the opening cycle.
Bottom-line decision
Reroll only when the account is genuinely disposable and the current Scout offers something you personally want. Secure any keeper first, verify the live rates and expiry rules, and use a cautious fresh-start loop without treating transfer or deletion as undo functions. Once an account has meaningful progress, its existing value normally outweighs the uncertain benefit of starting over.

Does reinstalling One Piece Bounty Rush automatically create a new account?
No. Removing and reinstalling the app is not proof that server data has been reset. Use the account-start controls shown by your platform, and never delete a valuable account just to test a reroll.

Can I keep my account as a backup by transferring it to another phone?
No. Bandai Namco describes transfer as moving game data between mobile devices. After the transfer, the old device cannot access that account, so it is not a protected duplicate or rollback.
What should I check on a Scout before rerolling?
Check the featured characters, displayed rates, closing date and time, exchange or guarantee milestones, and whether Scout Points reset when the event expires. The live Scout screen is more reliable than an older guide.
Is there a guaranteed number of rerolls or summons for a character?
No published success rate, average attempt count or universal guarantee supports one. Set a personal stopping rule instead of relying on a fictional average.
What happens if I request account deletion?
Once Bandai Namco approves the request, it permanently deletes the game data and the request cannot be cancelled. Unused in-app currency is lost, and a subscription may continue billing until cancelled through the purchasing platform.
Can support recover lost transfer information?
Bandai Namco says support cannot disclose lost transfer information. Record and protect transfer settings before experimenting.

Can I unlink a Steam account if I connect the wrong reroll?
The official Steam information warns that linking a new Bounty Rush account cannot be undone simply by unlinking. Choose the account carefully before confirming the link.
When should I stop rerolling?
Stop when your chosen target appears, when your preset time limit ends, when the Scout expires, or when the process stops being enjoyable. Keep the best legitimate start rather than pursuing an imaginary perfect roster.
The Bottom Line
Reroll a disposable new account only for a character you genuinely want from the current Scout. Verify live rates and expiry rules, protect transfer details, avoid permanent deletion, and remember that Steam linking and device transfers are not reversible backups.
