Reroll Guardian Tales only when your opening account fails a specific goal and that goal is available in the live banner for your region. Stop as soon as you have a hero, equipment start, or team direction you are willing to develop. Current selectable summons, mileage and later acquisition routes mean a perfect first account is not required for long-term progress.
What rerolling means in Guardian Tales
Rerolling is the process of starting a new guest account, completing the opening tutorial, spending the initial summons and currency, then abandoning that account when the result does not fit your plan. You repeat the cycle until the opening is good enough to keep.
The important phrase is “good enough.” Guardian Tales is not built around one permanently mandatory first pull. Banners rotate, story progress changes summon eligibility, and several systems let you target heroes or equipment later. Rerolling has value when it fixes a clear mismatch, not when it turns a playable account into a marginally better one.
A practical stop rule
- Name the target before you start: a particular hero, an exclusive weapon, or a team style you actually intend to play.
- Confirm that the target is in the current regional banner or summon pool.
- Keep the account once it gives you a start you are willing to develop through the story.
- Continue only when the next reset would solve a meaningful problem, such as missing the only unit you planned around, rather than provide a small statistical improvement.
This is a decision rule, not an official in-game threshold. Your preferred play style, available time and tolerance for repeating the tutorial matter more than an old tier-list ranking.

Check the live banner before making a reset decision
Summon advice becomes stale quickly. Read the current notice for your region before deciding what counts as a successful opening. The official EU/NA/OC/LA notice titled “Summon Chance (Hero & Equipment) 2026/09/15,” updated September 14, 2026, reports a 2.75% aggregate appearance rate for 3-star heroes on the guaranteed unique-hero summon. The individual rate depends on which heroes are listed in that pool; the aggregate figure is not a promise that your chosen hero will appear.
The same notice states that every 10x hero summon guarantees at least one 2-star-or-higher hero. Equipment summons use a separate table and guarantee at least one 4-star-or-higher piece on every 10x equipment summon. Pool membership and rates are regional notice details and can change, so check the notice shown for your server rather than copying a number from an old guide.

Story gates can change the pool
Your account’s story progress affects which heroes are eligible. In the September 2026 regional notice, White Beast becomes obtainable after clearing its World 1-4 quest, while Fei and Mei become summon-pool eligible after World 5. A reroll performed before those gates cannot be judged by the same target list as an account that has reached them.

Prepare a reroll without risking the account you want to keep
The exact current reset sequence is not confirmed by an official source. A recent third-party guide describes a guest account, tutorial completion, initial summons and a restart through settings, but its page could not be inspected. Use that as a prompt to look for the relevant controls in your client, not as a verified, platform-independent procedure.
- Stay on a guest account while testing. Do not bind an attempt to an email, platform login or other permanent account until you have decided to keep it.
- Complete only the required opening. Advance until summons and starting rewards are available. Note which tutorial steps are mandatory on your device.
- Collect the currency and tickets currently offered. Check the in-game mailbox, mission panel and event page, because the available starter rewards depend on the live version.
- Write down your target and pull order. Decide whether the account succeeds on a hero, an exclusive equipment piece, or a combination. This prevents changing the goal after every result.
- Pull on the banner that actually contains the target. Read the displayed pool and rate information first. A reroll cannot produce a unit that is not eligible for that summon.
- Inspect the live account or guest settings before deleting anything. Look for the client’s own reset, logout or guest-account controls and read every warning. Button names and behavior may differ by version.
- Confirm what will be erased. Determine whether the action removes only local data, the guest account, downloads or linked credentials. Do not assume that uninstalling the app, clearing storage or switching users has the same result.
- Test the fresh state before repeating. If the client does not clearly create a new guest account, stop and verify the platform procedure rather than binding or deleting the account you might want.
Do not promise that a reset is immediate or identical on iOS, Android and Switch. The safe procedure is to follow the controls and warnings in the live client, then verify the result on your specific platform.

How to spend an opening attempt efficiently
Use a narrow target
A target such as “any good 3-star” is too vague to tell you when to stop. Choose a reason: a hero that fits your preferred role, an exclusive weapon that completes a planned start, or a banner whose pity and exchange system you understand. If you cannot name what the account is supposed to accomplish, rerolling will become an endless search for a result that feels slightly better.

Separate hero and equipment goals
Hero and equipment summons have different pools and guarantees. A 10x hero summon guarantees one hero of 2-star rarity or higher; a 10x equipment summon guarantees one piece of 4-star rarity or higher. Those guarantees do not mean a specific unique hero or exclusive weapon will appear. Evaluate each pull against the target shown in that banner’s current list.
Record the attempt
Keep a simple note containing the server region, banner name, number of 10x pulls, target result and whether the account remains unbound. This avoids accidentally spending resources twice, confusing two guest accounts or judging an attempt against a banner that has already ended.
When keeping the account is better than resetting

The most useful comparison is not “perfect account versus imperfect account.” It is “hours of repeated opening” versus “a playable account with a route to the desired result.” If the latter wins, keep playing.
Systems that reduce the need for a perfect reroll
Selectable summons
Official 2024 system notes describe selectable summons in which you choose five heroes or five epic exclusive equipment items. When a qualifying summon succeeds, the result is selected from those choices. Availability and eligibility rules can change, but this system is a reason to value a solid account even when the first pull is not your exact favorite.
Pickup tickets and mileage
The same official notes describe pickup tickets that can be exchanged at 200 tickets for a featured unique hero or featured exclusive equipment. They also planned for new additions to enter normal mileage, dream evolution stone prizes and selectable summons six weeks after release, with exceptions for unreleased, event, collaboration and ascent cases. Treat six weeks as the stated planning rule for that system, not a guarantee that every future character will follow it.

Time-limited step-up events
A February 2026 step-up event guaranteed one existing unique hero with Myth unlocked within 30 summons, prioritized unowned heroes for unique-hero summons and required paid gems. It was an event-specific offer, not a permanent beginner guarantee. Use such an event only after reading its current eligibility, currency and expiration conditions.
These systems change the value of a reroll. If your account can select from five candidates, exchange 200 pickup tickets for a featured unit, or reach a later acquisition route, restarting for a one-percent improvement may waste more time than it saves.
Reset stones are not an unlimited undo button
Guardian Tales has reset items, but they are scarce and have defined refund limits. The official support article says a Hero Reset Stone works only on heroes at grade 4 or higher. For unique heroes it returns the listed development resources; for common and rare heroes it returns only Hero Crystals. An Awakening Reset Stone returns awakening stones but not gold.

The support article describes these items as generally obtainable only once outside special events. They can rescue a qualifying investment, but they do not make every early decision reversible. Do not keep a weak opening on the assumption that a reset stone will later refund every resource, and do not spend a scarce stone merely to avoid deciding whether the account itself is worth keeping.
A repeatable reroll workflow
- Read the current summon notice. Confirm your region, target pool, rates, guarantee and banner end date.
- Set a stopping condition. For example: “Keep the first guest account that obtains the listed unique hero or a start that supports my chosen team.”
- Run one complete attempt. Finish the required tutorial, collect available rewards and perform the planned hero and equipment summons.
- Evaluate against the condition, not emotion. Mark the attempt as keep or reset immediately. Do not reopen a result you already judged just because another account looks attractive in a screenshot.
- Use only the client’s visible account controls. If the reset path is unclear, pause and verify platform behavior. Never bind an account while you are still testing.
- Stop at the first acceptable result. Bind and protect that account only after confirming its heroes, equipment and login details.
Common reroll mistakes and fixes
Following an old tier list
Old rankings may describe a different banner, balance state or story gate. Fix the problem by using the current regional summon notice and judging the target’s actual availability.
Confusing a guaranteed rarity with a guaranteed target
The 10x guarantees establish a minimum rarity, not a named hero or weapon. Read the individual pool before treating a pull as a success.
Resetting before checking story eligibility

Assuming deletion works everywhere
There is no verified universal sequence in the available official material. iOS, Android and Switch can expose different account and storage controls. Follow the live client’s instructions and verify the fresh guest state.
Binding too early
A linked account can complicate experimentation. Keep attempts as guests until the result passes your stop rule, then secure the account through the supported login method.
Rerolling for a marginal upgrade
If the current account can clear the story and has a route to your preferred hero, continued resets usually trade certain progress for an uncertain improvement. Keep the account and use selectable summons, pickup tickets or later eligibility when available.
How to decide in five minutes
- Availability: Is the target listed in your current regional pool, or is it story-, event- or release-gated?
- Impact: Does missing it prevent your intended play style, or merely make the opening less elegant?
- Replacement path: Can selectable summons, pickup tickets, mileage or a future banner provide it later?
- Cost: How much tutorial time and story progress will another attempt consume?
- Account safety: Is the guest state unbound, and have you verified the reset behavior on your platform?
Reset only when the answers point to a clear mismatch, a currently available target and a low enough cost. Otherwise, keep the account, secure it and progress.

A successful reroll is not necessarily the account with the rarest screenshot. It is an account whose opening resources, available heroes and equipment support a plan you will continue playing. The official systems already provide several ways to target later outcomes, while reset stones cover only specific, limited refunds. Once your account meets your own target and the next reset would chase a marginal improvement, the rational stopping point has arrived.
