If you suspect another player is cheating in Call of Duty: DMZ, use the in-game Report Player control. Activision’s published step-by-step instructions are written for Warzone rather than a dedicated DMZ mode, so treat the menu names below as the closest official route and expect some DMZ labels or placements to differ.
Submit one good-faith report that matches what you actually observed. Activision reviews reports and can take action, but it does not promise a particular penalty, a response time, or an account-specific result for the person who reported the player.

What to do first
Stay in the game’s reporting system rather than trying to contact the player or sending a cheater complaint through a security-vulnerability form. The practical path is:
- Open the player list from the place where you encountered the suspected cheater.
- Open that player’s profile.
- Choose Report Player.
- Review the available reasons, select the one that best describes the conduct you saw, and select more than one reason only when each selected reason genuinely applies.
- Choose Send Report. You can also choose Report & Block Player if you do not want further interaction with that account.
Those labels and controls are documented by Activision for Warzone. DMZ may place them differently or use slightly different wording, but the in-game reporting control is the channel Activision identifies for suspected cheaters.

If you are still in a match, report when it is safe to navigate the menu. Do not put yourself in danger by standing still in an exposed area just to complete the form. If the match ends first, use the lobby or Social routes instead. The important point is submitting through the player-report workflow, not reaching a particular screen at a particular moment.
Which DMZ reporting route should you use?
Use whichever route is available from your current screen. Activision’s Warzone guide documents three entry points.

Do not assume a missing label means reporting is unavailable. Back out to the player list, the player’s profile, or the Social menu and look for the equivalent action. Activision has not published a separate DMZ interface reference that guarantees every screen matches Warzone.
Menus can also differ by platform, account state, or a later game update. A control may be represented by an icon, a context menu, or a differently worded profile action. Read the descriptions attached to the available options instead of choosing a random support category.
How to report someone during a DMZ match
1. Open the scoreboard
While still in the match, open the scoreboard with the platform control documented in Activision’s Warzone instructions:
- Xbox: press View.
- PlayStation: press the Touchpad.
- PC: press Tab.
DMZ can use a different binding or layout. If the listed input does not open a scoreboard, use the control shown in your current in-game controls or pause menu rather than repeatedly pressing a report command. Keyboard and controller layouts can be customized, so the button printed in a general guide may not match your personal binding.
2. Select the suspected player
Highlight the account you want to report in the scoreboard. Select View Profile, then choose Report Player. If DMZ opens a context menu instead, choose the profile option first and look for the report action there.

Check the name and profile carefully before submitting. Reporting the wrong squad member does not help reviewers identify the conduct you saw. If several players were involved, report each account only when you can describe that account’s own observed behavior; do not select every name simply because they were grouped together.
3. Choose the closest reason
The report form asks you to review the reason descriptions and select the most appropriate one. More than one reason may be selected. Choose only reasons supported by what you observed; a difficult fight, an accurate shot, or a player who knows the map is not by itself proof of cheating.

Use the most specific description available. For example, if the menu distinguishes an exploit from unauthorized software, do not select both unless your observation genuinely supports both possibilities. You are reporting behavior for review, not making a final technical diagnosis. It is acceptable to describe an apparent unfair advantage without claiming certainty about the tool or method involved.
4. Send the report
Select Send Report to submit. Report & Block Player is available as an additional choice when you want to prevent further interaction. Blocking does not replace the report; submit the report first if you want Activision to review the conduct.
After sending, avoid immediately submitting the same report again from another menu. Activision’s January 17, 2025 community update says repeated presses by one player against another do not count as more than one report. A second attempt is not a stronger case and can look like report-button abuse if it is retaliatory or malicious.
Reporting from the lobby or Social menu
Lobby player list
If you have already left the match, open the lobby’s player list and highlight the account. Use the profile view and select the equivalent of Report Player. Follow the same reason-selection and submission process used for an in-match report.
The lobby route is useful when you did not have time to open the scoreboard during combat. Confirm that the selected profile belongs to the account you encountered, then choose the reason that best fits the observed conduct. Do not add unrelated reasons merely because the player defeated you or extracted with valuable gear.
Party & Friends or Recent
From the Social menu, open Party & Friends or Recent, locate the account, open its profile, and select the reporting option. The Recent list is useful when the player is no longer visible in the current lobby. If the account is not listed, return to the in-match or lobby route when possible rather than trying to submit the complaint through another Activision form.

Take a moment to distinguish the suspected player from similarly named accounts. If the list has changed, the in-game profile route remains preferable to searching for a general web form that is intended for a different purpose.
Because the official instructions are for Warzone, these are equivalent routes, not a guarantee that DMZ exposes every tab or label in exactly the same place.
What counts as an unfair advantage or cheating?
The Call of Duty Code of Conduct says that using cheats, including third-party software, is unacceptable. It also treats exploiting bugs and other activity that grants an unfair advantage as cheating. Those categories are the basis for selecting a report reason.

Conduct that fits the published definition
- Using third-party cheat software or another unauthorized tool to gain an advantage.
- Exploiting a game bug in a way that provides an unfair advantage.
- Other deliberate activity that gives the player an unfair advantage over legitimate players.
The definition is about the method or advantage, not simply the result. A player can win a close gunfight, locate you quickly, or make an unusually accurate shot without violating the rules. Report when there is a specific pattern or action that reasonably suggests software assistance, a deliberate exploit, or another prohibited advantage.
Report observations, not conclusions
You do not need to prove the case yourself. Select the closest reason for the behavior you actually saw instead of presenting a suspicion as a confirmed finding. For example, report the specific apparent exploit or software-assisted behavior that led to your suspicion, not simply the fact that you lost a firefight.
Useful observations are concrete: what happened, when it happened, and why it appeared inconsistent with normal play. Keep the wording neutral in your own mind while selecting the form. “The player tracked me through cover for an extended period” describes an observation; “the player definitely uses a particular cheat” asserts a conclusion you may not be able to establish.
The in-game form’s documented workflow is reason selection and submission. The available material does not establish that a DMZ report accepts video files, screenshots, external links, or a separate evidence attachment, so do not assume those materials can be added to the report. If the game does not present an attachment field, the correct response is to complete the available report, not to redirect the complaint to a security form.
What is not enough by itself
- Losing a fight or being eliminated quickly.
- A player knowing a common route, extraction point, or map angle.
- Accurate aim during one encounter without another specific indication of prohibited assistance.
- Teammates or opponents behaving competitively, taunting, or refusing to share loot when no cheating behavior is observed.
These situations can be frustrating, but they do not automatically fit the Code of Conduct’s cheating categories. A factual, narrowly targeted report is more useful than a complaint based only on the outcome of a match.

Activision reviews the report
Activision says reports are reviewed as soon as possible. It may take appropriate action, including a warning, suspension, or ban. The review process does not guarantee that every report results in a sanction or that the action will match the reason you selected.
A review may require the company to compare the report with other information about the account or the game session. You will not see that internal process, so the absence of an immediate visible change does not show that the report was ignored. Conversely, a later penalty cannot be assumed to have resulted from your individual report.
The reported player may be notified
Activision says the reported player may be notified that a report was made and may be told the reason. It will not reveal who submitted the report.
Do not threaten a player with a report, announce that you filed one, or try to identify the reporter if another account is notified. Keeping the interaction inside the reporting system avoids turning a gameplay dispute into harassment.

You will not receive an account-specific result
Because of confidentiality, Activision does not provide the reporter with an account-specific outcome. Do not expect a confirmation that a ban occurred, a description of the internal review, or a promised follow-up message.
There is also no published promise of a fixed review deadline. “As soon as possible” is the available expectation; it is not a guaranteed number of hours or days. Continue using the normal report route if you observe a separate incident rather than repeatedly submitting the original complaint.
Why repeated reports are not useful
Activision’s January 17, 2025 Call of Duty community update says that repeated presses of the report button by one player against another do not count as more than one report. Sending the same complaint repeatedly therefore does not increase its weight.
Make one accurate, good-faith report. Activision also identifies malicious reporting as conduct against its Security and Enforcement Policy. Do not use reports to retaliate against a player, disrupt a match, punish someone for ordinary competitive play, or coordinate mass reports with other players.

Activision’s Report Security Issues page is for game-security vulnerabilities, not for reporting an individual account. The page explicitly directs suspected-cheater complaints to the in-game Report Player option. Use the vulnerability form only when you are reporting a security flaw in the game or service itself.
Choose the correct channel

Keeping those channels separate helps the security team identify genuine vulnerabilities and keeps player reports in the system designed to review account conduct. A vulnerability report is not a substitute for naming an account through the player-report menu, and the player-report menu is not a place to submit technical security disclosures.
A practical reporting checklist
Use this checklist before submitting:
- Am I reporting a specific observed action rather than a result I disliked?
- Does the behavior fit the Code of Conduct’s categories of third-party cheating, bug exploitation, or another unfair advantage?
- Am I using the in-game Report Player control?
- Did I select the closest reason description?
- If I selected multiple reasons, does each one apply?
- Did I select the correct account and review its profile before sending?
- Am I submitting one good-faith report instead of pressing the button repeatedly?
- Do I understand that Activision may take no visible action, and that it will not disclose an account-specific outcome to me?
This checklist is also useful when you are angry or surprised. Pause long enough to separate what you directly observed from what you inferred. The report should identify conduct for review, not serve as a message to the other player.

- Open the scoreboard or the current player list.
- Highlight the account and open its profile.
- Look for Report Player or the equivalent action in the profile’s context menu.
- If the player is no longer in the match, check the lobby list or Social menu’s Party & Friends and Recent tabs.
- If DMZ uses different wording, follow the control that clearly corresponds to reporting a player rather than a security issue.
If an input does not work, check your platform’s displayed controls and your own key or button bindings. Do not repeatedly activate controls while moving through a live firefight. You can finish the encounter, leave the match, and use the lobby or Recent route.
If the player is absent from every available list, do not substitute a random support category or send the same complaint through the vulnerability page. The official material confirms the in-game player-report route, while the exact DMZ screen arrangement has not been separately documented. A later menu update may also move the command.
Activision’s surfaced support instructions cover Warzone, not a separately documented DMZ reporting interface. That means a label, button position, or platform prompt can differ by mode or by a later menu update. The principle remains the same: report the account through the game’s player-report workflow.
