Use the Report control on the affected Kalshi market for the fastest platform route, or email Kalshi’s dedicated insider-reporting address, [email protected]. Use Menu → Get help → Chat with support for account compromise or unauthorized transactions. If the conduct may violate federal law, submit the allegation to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) through its Submit Tips & Complaints channel as well.
Choose the reporting route that fits the problem
A suspicious order pattern and a stolen account are different incidents. Sending each to the right recipient gives investigators the context and records they need without delaying a security response.

You can use more than one route when the facts justify it. For example, report the market behavior to Kalshi immediately and also file with the CFTC when you want the regulator to receive the allegation. Do not treat support chat as a replacement for the dedicated whistleblower route when the issue is suspected trading abuse.

What to preserve before you submit
Evidence is easiest to evaluate when another person can reconstruct what you saw without guessing. Save original files before annotating them, and keep a private copy of every URL, screenshot, and message.

Identify the market and contract
- Record the market name and its full URL.
- State the exact contract outcome or side involved, such as the “Yes” or “No” outcome.
- Note the account, user name, or trader identifier if it is publicly visible. Do not try to uncover private identity information or publish accusations.
- Capture the market rules and settlement language if they affect why the activity appears unusual.
Build a timestamped timeline
- Write the date, clock time, and time zone for every relevant trade, order, cancellation, price move, and public announcement.
- Record when you first saw the activity and when the relevant news became public.
- Use the platform’s displayed time consistently, then identify any conversion to another time zone.
- Keep the original screenshots or screen recordings with visible timestamps. Cropped or edited copies can be useful for explanation, but they should not replace the originals.
Capture the order-book context
A single fill rarely establishes manipulation. Preserve the surrounding bids and offers, size changes, cancellations, spread, and sequence of executions. If the order book changed while you were recording, take several captures rather than one image that suggests a continuous view. Include the trade history when available so reviewers can distinguish displayed liquidity from completed transactions.
Save related public information
Preserve links and timestamps for announcements, posts, filings, or other public information that may explain the timing. A trader acting before a public event is not automatically using confidential information; the chronology helps investigators test that possibility against other explanations.
Separate observation from inference
Use two columns in your notes. In “Observed,” describe what the platform showed: an account placed large offers, canceled them seconds later, and traded after a price change. In “Possible explanation,” state the inference: the sequence may resemble spoofing or coordinated activity. This distinction makes the report more credible and avoids accusing a named person beyond the evidence.
How to report a market through Kalshi
Kalshi’s June 9, 2026 integrity announcement says every market has reporting tools and that submitted tips go directly to its 24/7 surveillance team. The exact visual placement can change, so use the report control displayed on the affected market rather than relying on an old screenshot of the interface.

- Open the affected market and verify that the market name, contract outcome, and URL match your evidence.
- Select the market’s Report control.
- Describe the conduct in chronological order. Give exact dates, times, and time zone, then identify the orders, trades, cancellations, or account identifiers that matter.
- Explain why the pattern is unusual without presenting an unproven conclusion as fact. Name the pattern you want reviewed, such as possible spoofing, wash trading, pre-arranged trading, coordinated orders, or apparent use of confidential information.
- Attach screenshots or screen recordings where the form permits them. Keep the unedited originals and note what each file shows.
- Review the submission for spelling, links, and timestamps, then send it. Save a copy of the text and the submission confirmation if one appears.
Do not place passwords, full payment-card numbers, or unrelated personal information in a market-abuse report. If the issue includes unauthorized access to your own account, use support chat as described below so account-security staff can handle those details.
How to email a Kalshi insider report
Kalshi’s insider-trading policy identifies [email protected] as the address for reporting an insider. Email is useful when you have a longer evidence package, several markets, or files that are difficult to attach through a market form.
- Use a subject that identifies the market and issue without declaring guilt, for example: “Possible coordinated orders in [market name] — 17 October 2026 UTC.” Put any variable market name in ordinary text; do not use a subject such as “Criminal trader.”
- Open with a one-sentence description of what you observed and the date range.
- List the market URL, contract outcome, visible account identifiers, and a chronological table of relevant events.
- Describe the suspected pattern and why the timing, order sizes, cancellations, or coordination concern you. Mark each conclusion as a possibility unless the evidence proves it.
- Attach original screenshots or recordings, and identify each attachment in the email. If a file is too large, explain where the preserved file can be obtained and retain the original.
- State whether you also submitted the market report or a CFTC complaint, so recipients know where duplicate material may exist.
- Send from an address that does not expose unnecessary personal information, while understanding that the reviewed Kalshi materials do not promise anonymity, a response time, or a whistleblower reward.
Recognize the patterns worth describing
These labels are useful for directing a review; they are not findings that a violation occurred. Give investigators the underlying sequence rather than relying on a label.
Trading immediately before a known announcement
Flag a short interval in which an account takes an unusually large position before a material announcement and then exits or profits when the information becomes public. Include the announcement’s publication time, how widely it was available, and any earlier public indicators that could offer an innocent explanation.

Spoofing-like orders
A spoofing-like sequence can involve large displayed orders that appear to create pressure or liquidity, are canceled before execution, and are followed by trades on the opposite side. Record the size and price of each order, how long it remained visible, cancellation timing, and whether the account repeatedly used the sequence. Do not call an order spoofing solely because it was canceled; legitimate orders can be canceled when conditions change.
Wash or pre-arranged trading
Describe transactions that appear to transfer contracts between accounts without a genuine change in market exposure, or trades that seem coordinated in advance. Include matching times, prices, quantities, account identifiers, and any common public signals. A shared price or simultaneous trade is not enough by itself, so explain the repeated features that make the pattern unusual.
Concentrated or coordinated orders
Show when several accounts entered similar positions, at similar prices, or in a synchronized sequence. Note whether the accounts shared public affiliations, repeated the same timing across markets, or moved the order book together. Avoid inferring that accounts are controlled by one person unless you have evidence of that relationship.

Identify the information you believe was not public at the time, who could reasonably have had access, and the exact trades that preceded disclosure. State what is documented and what is only a theory. Investigators, not the reporter, determine whether information was material, nonpublic, and misused.

A practical report format
The following structure keeps a submission concise while giving reviewers enough detail to reproduce the timeline:

Details to provide for unauthorized activity
- The specific transactions you do not recognize.
- The approximate last time you had normal access.
- Payment-method details needed to identify the affected funding source, without sending unnecessary full account numbers.
- Transaction dates, amounts, and transaction times.
- Your account type and the institution name involved.
- A bank-statement screenshot when it helps validate the transaction, with unrelated account numbers or balances redacted.
Secure the account using the platform’s available security controls while support investigates. Keep the security case separate from a market-abuse allegation: support needs to stop unauthorized access, while surveillance needs the trading pattern and market context.
When and how to involve the CFTC
The CFTC’s February 25, 2026 prediction-markets advisory states that the Commission has full authority to police illegal trading practices on designated contract markets. It specifically identifies fraud, manipulation, wash sales, disruptive trading, and misappropriation of confidential information among the practices within that authority. The advisory provides a Submit Tips & Complaints route for sending information to the Commission.
- Organize the same chronology used for the Kalshi report, including the market, contract outcome, accounts or identifiers, and time zone.
- Explain why the conduct may involve a practice within the CFTC’s jurisdiction. Use cautious language and distinguish evidence from suspicion.
- Attach original files or clearly labeled copies, preserving the originals separately.
- State whether Kalshi has been notified and give any internal submission reference if you have one.
- Submit through the CFTC’s Submit Tips & Complaints channel and retain the confirmation.
Regulatory escalation is particularly appropriate when the allegation involves fraud, manipulation across participants, wash sales, disruptive trading, or suspected misuse of confidential information, or when you want a federal regulator to receive the complaint directly. Filing with the CFTC does not guarantee an investigation or a personal response; no response deadline, anonymity protection, or reward is promised in the materials described here.
What Kalshi says happens after a flag
Kalshi describes continuous pattern recognition for anomalous timing, unusual win-rate patterns, and coordinated activity. It says a flagged account may be frozen while compliance staff review funding sources and trading history, with legal staff deciding whether a violation occurred. Possible outcomes it lists include disgorgement, fines, multi-year suspensions, and permanent bans. Kalshi also says confirmed violations are reported to the CFTC.

In its June 9, 2026 announcement, Kalshi reported more than 150 investigations, more than 100 potential insider trades blocked by new screening tools, more than 20 referrals to law enforcement, and 5 disciplinary actions. Those are figures Kalshi reported for 2026; the announcement does not establish a success rate, average review time, or outcome for every investigation. Kalshi Head of Enforcement Robert DeNault said, “By implementing these new integrity measures, we continue to lead the industry on the issue of market integrity amongst federally regulated prediction markets.”

Common reporting mistakes and how to fix them
- Using only a conclusion: Replace “this trader is an insider” with the exact order sequence, time, size, and public-information timeline.
- Leaving out the time zone: Add the zone to every timestamp and explain any conversion.
- Sending a single cropped screenshot: Preserve the original and include enough market, order-book, and trade-history context to show what happened before and after the event.
- Reporting a security incident to surveillance only: Contact support chat immediately for unauthorized trades or account access, then report any broader market pattern separately.
- Posting accusations publicly: Send evidence privately through the platform, the whistleblower address, or the CFTC channel. Public accusations can expose innocent people and contaminate an investigation.
- Assuming a canceled order proves spoofing: Show repetition, timing, size, and subsequent executions; cancellation alone has legitimate explanations.
- Omitting duplicate-report information: Tell each recipient whether the same evidence went to another channel so reviewers can reconcile records.
- Expecting a guaranteed response: Keep your confirmation and evidence, but do not assume a response time, anonymity, or payment because none is promised in the cited Kalshi materials.
Final pre-submission checklist
- Correct market name, full URL, and contract outcome.
- Exact dates, times, and time zone for every important event.
- Visible account or trader identifiers, without attempts to expose private identity data.
- Order-book, trade-history, screenshot, recording, and public-information evidence preserved in original form.
- A clear separation between observed facts and possible explanations.
- The appropriate route selected: market report or whistleblower email for trading abuse, support chat for account problems, and CFTC Submit Tips & Complaints when federal escalation is desired.
- A saved copy of the submission and any confirmation number.
