Report the specific problem to the platform first: suspicious trading or a questionable resolution is different from a confusing rule, a misleading promotion, unauthorized account activity, or suspected illegal gambling. Preserve the market’s exact wording and supporting records, then consider the regulator or law-enforcement route that fits your location and allegation. A prediction market is not automatically classified the same way everywhere, and no single agency handles every complaint.
Which reporting channel should you use?
Start with the channel for the issue and platform. A customer-support complaint may not reach a market-integrity team, while a regulator’s intelligence report may not resolve an individual transaction dispute.

What evidence should you save before reporting?
Capture the original material before it changes or disappears. Keep an unedited copy of screenshots; if you annotate a duplicate, retain the original too. Do not post private account or personal information publicly just to document a complaint.

- Identify the item: save the direct market, contract, post, promotion, or account-activity URL, along with the platform name.
- Preserve the exact claim: record the wording that seems misleading, the date and time you captured it, and a screenshot showing enough surrounding context to identify it.
- For a market-rule or settlement concern: save the complete rules, the summary, and the stated verification or resolution source. Note the specific wording you believe conflicts with the outcome or presentation.
- For suspicious on-chain activity: include wallet addresses and transaction hashes where relevant.
- For an account-security issue: note transaction IDs and approximate dates and times, and provide supporting evidence through the platform’s requested support channel.
- Write a short chronology: state what happened, when, the rule or claim it appears to conflict with, and what evidence supports your concern. Ask clearly for a review, correction, or explanation.
These details are practical guidance drawn from the platforms’ evidence requests; they are not a universal legal form requirement. Polymarket specifically requests the market link, wallet, transaction hash, and description of what was observed. Kalshi’s guidance calls for documented bug details or account-transaction information, and recommends screenshots when contacting support.
How do you report a misleading market rule or disputed resolution?
Check the full contract language, not only the summary
Before alleging that a market was settled incorrectly, compare the outcome with the contract’s complete rules and the source or criteria those rules specify. Kalshi explains that its rules summary describes the measured value, timeline, and verification source, but does not include all of the full rules. Its Help Center puts it plainly: “Rules summaries do not contain the entire text of the full rules.” A short title or summary may therefore omit a condition that affects settlement.

Send the report to the right team
For a Kalshi market bug or ambiguity, use the private Market Bug Bounty Program form rather than email or support chat; Kalshi says those channels are not accepted for that program. For suspicious wallet or trading conduct, or a resolution inconsistency on Polymarket, write to [email protected] with the market link and relevant wallet or transaction information. Keep your explanation factual: quote the applicable rule, describe the apparent conflict, and identify the evidence rather than assuming intent.

For a platform-specific concern, report it to the operator’s relevant team. If you suspect fraud, the CFTC’s consumer guidance says a person who has been defrauded may report to the government and to the exchange or social site involved; it names the CFTC or FBI as possible routes. The CFTC lists warning signs such as promises of large profits with little risk, claims of exclusive knowledge, and refusal to process withdrawals. A warning sign is a reason to investigate and report, not by itself proof of a crime.

The CFTC’s February 25, 2026 advisory describes a Kalshi enforcement matter involving a trader with direct or indirect influence over a contract’s outcome. The trader received a five-year suspension from direct or indirect exchange access and a $2,246.36 total financial penalty, consisting of $246.36 in disgorgement and a $2,000 penalty. This is a specific enforcement example, not a typical or standard penalty for a prediction-market complaint.

That depends on where you are, what the product is, and which laws or regulatory framework apply. Do not conclude that a market is illegal solely because it resembles gambling, or because a platform describes its product as trading. A platform’s regulatory status does not establish the status of every contract or settle questions about another jurisdiction.

For Great Britain, the Gambling Commission provides routes for reporting information about suspicious activity or criminality. It expressly says it does not resolve or make decisions on complaints about gambling-related transactions. If the problem is a disputed payment or transaction, follow the operator’s complaints procedure; if you have intelligence about possible criminality or licensing non-compliance, use the Commission’s reporting route.

In the United States, Kalshi describes itself as a CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market. However, the boundary between federal derivatives oversight and state gambling laws is contested. The CFTC’s prediction-market advisory and the platform’s regulatory description do not establish that the CFTC is the right authority for every platform, contract, location, or allegation. Check the relevant regulator’s current jurisdictional guidance for your circumstances.
What happens after you submit a report?
Do not assume a report will produce a particular result. Polymarket says its integrity team logs and reads reports, reviews them confidentially, and may take action in substantiated cases. Kalshi’s cited instructions explain where certain reports belong and what details to provide, but the reviewed guidance does not establish a general response deadline or remedy. The sources likewise do not promise anonymity, compensation, or an investigation in every case. Keep your submission and any confirmation, and use the platform’s stated follow-up channel if you need to add relevant evidence.
