Close the page, copy its URL without reopening it, and contact PlayStation Support through Sony’s official consumer-support route. Describe the URL as a suspected PlayStation Store impersonation and explain what the page asked visitors to provide.
If the suspicious material arrived inside PlayStation Network (PSN)—for example, as a message, profile, or shared content—use PlayStation’s built-in Report function on that specific content. A third-party website and a scam encountered on PSN are different reporting cases, so the correct channel depends on where you saw it.

First, identify where the suspicious item exists
The reporting path is determined by the location of the suspicious item, not simply by whether it uses PlayStation logos, colors, or wording. A fake storefront hosted on an independent domain is outside PSN. A scam message, profile, or other player-shared item displayed through PSN is platform content.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

| A website that imitates PlayStation Store or PlayStation.com | Outside PlayStation Network | Do not interact with it. Contact PlayStation Support through the official Sony route and provide the URL and a description of the impersonation. |
| A suspicious message, profile, or other content sent or displayed on PSN | Inside PlayStation Network | Use the platform’s Report function on the specific message, profile, or content so PlayStation’s moderation team can review it. |
| A link to an outside site delivered in a PSN message | Both PSN content and an external website | Report the PSN message itself, then separately raise the external URL with PlayStation Support. Do not revisit the site to investigate it. |
PlayStation’s safety guidance warns that scam sites can be designed to resemble PlayStation.com and request personal information. The same guidance distinguishes scams encountered on PSN, which should be reported with the system-level reporting function. Read the safety article at PlayStation.Blog’s scam-safety guidance.

What to do immediately
- Stop interacting with the page. Do not enter a sign-in ID, password, payment-card number, security code, address, date of birth, or any other personal information. Do not scan an unfamiliar QR code or accept an offer simply because the page looks official.
- Close the tab or app. Do not click additional buttons, download files, install software, or follow prompts claiming that you must “verify” your account.
- Record the URL safely. Copy the address from the browser’s address bar or use the browser history. Note the name the page used, what it was imitating, and what information it requested. You do not need to return to the site to gather more evidence.
- Choose the reporting route. Use official PlayStation Support for an independent clone website. Use the in-platform Report control for suspicious PSN content.
- Treat any submitted information as exposed. If you entered credentials or payment information, follow the account and payment steps below rather than waiting to see whether anything happens.
How to report an external PlayStation Store clone to Sony
Use the official consumer-support route
Sony Interactive Entertainment directs consumer questions about PSN accounts, PlayStation hardware, PlayStation Store purchases, and related issues to PlayStation Support. Start from the official support route described on Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation Support and Compliance Concerns page, then select the support option for your country or region.
Tell the agent that you are reporting a suspected third-party website impersonating PlayStation Store. Include the complete URL exactly as it appeared, including the domain and path. Explain whether the page copied the PlayStation Store name, sign-in screen, product listings, payment flow, or another PlayStation interface. State what it asked you to do, such as signing in, entering card details, supplying a one-time code, or scanning a QR code.
The practical information above helps Support understand the complaint; it is not a published Sony-mandated evidence checklist. The official pages do not identify a special public form or email address dedicated solely to third-party PlayStation Store clones. That absence should not be read as proof that Sony has no internal investigation or takedown process. It means the consumer-support route is the documented starting point, and local support pages may present different contact options.

Keep the report factual and limited
A concise report is safer and more useful than repeated visits to the suspicious domain. You can provide:
- The full URL, copied rather than retyped if possible.
- The date and approximate time you encountered it.
- The PlayStation service or page it appeared to imitate.
- The information the page requested.
- How you encountered it, such as a search result, advertisement, email, social post, or PSN message.
- Whether you submitted anything or downloaded anything.
Do not send your own password, payment number, security code, or account-recovery answers to a person who contacts you claiming to investigate the report. Use only the support contact reached from the official PlayStation or Sony site. PlayStation recommends using trusted official channels and contacting Support when you notice suspicious account activity; its security guidance also cautions users about untrusted QR codes and suspicious offers at How to use security best practices on PlayStation.
A practical report format
You can organize the message so that Support can distinguish the website issue from any account issue. Begin with a subject such as “Suspected PlayStation Store impersonation website.” Then identify the URL, the date and approximate time, and the legitimate PlayStation page or service being copied. Describe the visible elements in plain language: for example, a sign-in page using PlayStation branding, a product listing that requested payment before checkout, or an urgent offer that asked for a QR-code scan. Say whether the link came from a search result, advertisement, email, social post, or PSN message.
Finish by stating clearly whether you entered anything. “I did not submit information” is useful because it separates a domain report from an account-compromise case. If you did enter a password, payment detail, or one-time code, say what category of information was exposed without repeating the actual value. You can also say whether you downloaded a file or can still access your PlayStation account. Keep screenshots or notes you already have, but do not revisit the domain just to obtain more images or confirm that it is still online.

Do not confuse consumer support with compliance reporting
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s support and compliance page describes PlayStation Support for ordinary consumer matters, including accounts, hardware, and Store purchases. Its ethics and compliance route is described for unethical behavior or business misconduct related to Sony Interactive Entertainment or a business partner. A suspected independent clone encountered by a consumer should therefore start with PlayStation Support, unless the facts also involve a separate business-conduct concern that fits the compliance route.
How to report a scam encountered inside PSN
Report the specific content
If the suspicious material is a PSN message, profile, or other player-shared content, open that item on your console or in the PlayStation App and choose the platform’s Report option. Select the reason that best matches the violation and submit the report for the specific content you believe breaches the Code of Conduct. PlayStation’s reporting instructions are available at How to make a report on PlayStation.
Do not report an unrelated player or content merely because you suspect that person is connected to an external domain. Report the message, profile, or other item that actually contains the suspected scam. If the same account sends several separate pieces of suspicious content, report each relevant item when the interface provides that choice.
Why the PSN report and website report are separate
The in-platform tool gives PlayStation’s moderation team the PSN content needed to review a possible Code of Conduct violation. It is not presented as a general intake form for independently hosted websites. For an external clone, use PlayStation Support as the consumer contact and include the URL. If a PSN message contains the link to the clone, reporting the message and notifying Support address two different parts of the incident.
PlayStation safety manager Luke Mears described the platform process this way: “Also remember the best way that you can help keep PSN safe is by using the system level reporting function so if you ever come across anything on PSN that you suspect is a scam you can report it to our Moderation team who will be happy to investigate.” His statement, published in the May 11, 2018 safety article, concerns scams encountered on PSN; it is not confirmation of a separate website-clone submission form.
If you entered your PlayStation credentials
Change the email-account password first
If you typed a PlayStation sign-in password or reused that password anywhere else, change the password for the email account associated with your PlayStation account. Use the email provider’s official site or app, not a link from the suspicious page. A compromised email account can allow an attacker to intercept account-recovery messages, so securing it is the first practical step identified in PlayStation’s compromised-account guidance.
If the same password was used on other services, prioritize changing it there through each service’s legitimate website or app. Do not disclose the replacement password to PlayStation Support, a payment provider, or anyone claiming to assist. The goal is to secure the account through trusted channels while keeping the suspected site out of the recovery process.

Contact PlayStation Support if you cannot change the sign-in method
PlayStation instructs users with compromised accounts to contact Support if they cannot change the sign-in method. Use the official support route rather than a phone number, chat link, or “recovery” contact supplied by the clone. Explain that your credentials may have been submitted to a suspected PlayStation Store impersonation site and state whether you can still access the account.

A suspicious sign-in may not produce an immediate Store transaction, and the absence of a visible charge does not prove that the credentials were safe.
If you entered payment details or see an unfamiliar charge
Contact PlayStation Support promptly
If you supplied a card number, bank details, billing address, or payment security code to the clone, contact PlayStation Support promptly and explain what was exposed. Also contact your card issuer or payment provider as appropriate under its fraud or card-security process. Tell the payment provider that the details were entered on a suspected impersonation site and follow its instructions for monitoring, blocking, or replacing the payment method.
Do not include a complete card number or security code in a general report about the website. Describe the type of information exposed and provide only the details a legitimate support channel specifically requests. Keep the date, approximate time, and any amount involved so you can give consistent information to Support and the payment provider.
Check PlayStation Store transaction history
For a charge you do not recognize, check your PlayStation Store transaction history and compare the transaction date, amount, and account. PlayStation’s guidance for compromised accounts and unauthorized charges is available at Phished (compromised) accounts and unauthorized charges. Use the support process on that page for the applicable account and purchase situation.
A charge appearing in your Store history and a charge on your bank statement are related but not identical questions. The history can show whether the transaction was made through your PlayStation account; your payment provider can investigate activity on the card or account itself. Preserve the relevant dates and amounts when you contact either organization.
If you only opened the page
Seeing a suspicious page is not the same as submitting credentials or payment data. If you only viewed it, close it, avoid further interaction, and report the URL through official PlayStation Support. State that no information was submitted if that is true. Do not “test” the page with a false password or disposable card number; that creates another disclosure and does not improve the report.

If the page arrived through PSN, preserve the message or profile long enough to use the platform’s Report function, then avoid further conversation. Do not click the link again to see whether it redirects or changes. The first URL you copied, together with the context in which you encountered it, is sufficient practical information for a consumer report.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What not to expect after reporting
Do not assume that Sony will take down the domain, confirm receipt, or respond within a particular time. The official pages described here do not promise a takedown, a case number, or a specific response deadline for an independently hosted PlayStation Store clone. Keep your own record of the URL, the date of your report, and any support reference you receive.
Likewise, a Report submission on PSN is not a guarantee that the sender’s account will be removed. PlayStation’s published guidance says the moderation team can investigate reported content; it does not promise a particular enforcement decision. Avoid confronting the sender or announcing that you reported them, because doing so can create another opportunity for social engineering.
A safe decision checklist
- Only saw an external clone: close it, copy the URL safely, and contact official PlayStation Support.
- Saw a scam message, profile, or shared item on PSN: report that specific content with the platform’s Report function.
- Saw a PSN message linking to a clone: report the message and separately send the external URL to PlayStation Support.
- Entered a password: change the associated email-account password and contact Support if you cannot change the PlayStation sign-in method.
- Entered payment details or found an unknown charge: contact PlayStation Support promptly, contact the payment provider as appropriate, and check Store transaction history.
- Were asked to scan a QR code or accept an urgent offer: stop and use a trusted official channel instead.
How to avoid being fooled by the next imitation
Check the address bar before signing in or paying. A page can copy PlayStation’s visual design while using an unrelated domain, an extra word, a misspelling, or a deceptive subdomain. Do not treat a padlock icon, a search-engine placement, an advertisement, or PlayStation branding as proof that the site is operated by Sony.
Reach the service by entering the official PlayStation address yourself or using a bookmark you created from the official site. Be especially cautious with links delivered through messages, QR codes, pop-ups, and “limited-time” offers that demand immediate action. PlayStation’s security-best-practices guidance recommends trusted official channels and warns about suspicious offers and untrusted QR codes.
When you need help, navigate to the official PlayStation support site for your country rather than relying on a contact link in an email or on the suspicious page. The examples above use United States and United Kingdom support URLs because those are the published pages for the relevant guidance; menus and contact methods can vary by region.

Key takeaway
For a fake PlayStation Store website, the safest report is a factual URL-and-description submission through official PlayStation Support. For a scam encountered within PSN, report the exact message, profile, or shared content with the platform’s Report function. If you submitted credentials or payment information, begin account and payment recovery immediately instead of waiting for an unauthorized charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I report a suspicious PlayStation Store clone to Sony?
Close the site, do not submit information, copy the URL without revisiting it, and contact PlayStation Support through the official PlayStation website for your country. Explain that the URL appears to impersonate PlayStation Store and describe what it requested. The published pages do not identify a dedicated public form or email address solely for third-party clones.
Should I use the PSN Report button for a fake website?
Use the PSN Report function when the suspicious item is a message, profile, or other content shared on PlayStation Network. An independently hosted website should be raised through PlayStation Support. If a PSN message contains the link, report the message and separately provide the external URL to Support.
What information should I include in my report?
Include the complete URL, the approximate date and time, the PlayStation service or page being imitated, what information or action the page requested, and how you encountered it. Say whether you submitted credentials, payment information, or anything else. Do not send passwords, card numbers, security codes, or recovery answers.
