Fairphone Support says spare parts are not interchangeable between different phone models; its example specifically rules out using Fairphone 5 parts in the Gen. 6. Do not choose a replacement based on screen size or a generic “6.3-inch” description. Compatibility of third-party listings is not established here.
Check warranty and damage before ordering
If the damage may be covered by warranty, contact Fairphone Customer Support before buying a part. Fairphone’s Europe repair guidance, updated September 3, 2026, says covered repairs under its 24-month manufacturing warranty or a registered commercial extended warranty of up to five years include free repair and shipping. Out-of-warranty cases and user damage are assessed by the service center and quoted after diagnosis. These terms are specific to Europe; check the applicable policy for your region.

Prepare the phone and tools
Fairphone recommends updating the phone’s software so firmware drivers can recognize new parts, charging the battery so the repair can be tested afterward, and reading the steps and watching the accompanying video before starting.

Reduce electrostatic-discharge risk by grounding yourself or wearing cotton or rubber gloves. When disconnecting board-to-board connectors, use a plastic tool or your fingernail—never metal.

Use that current guide for the screw and connector order; do not improvise the sequence. Fairphone’s repair overview estimates 10–15 minutes for display replacement, but your time may differ.
