Samsung monitor stands do not all release the same way. First identify your exact model and follow its manual: some documented models use a release button and lift, while the S70A uses two screws before the stand lifts away. Do not pull or pry until you have confirmed the correct method.
Before removing the stand
- Identify the monitor. Find its model code on the product label or in the monitor’s settings, then look up the manual for that exact model and market. Samsung’s instructions vary by model; the examples below are not a complete list of stand designs. See Samsung’s monitor wall-mount guide and the Samsung S-Series service manual.
- Switch off and unplug. Disconnect the power cable before preparing the monitor for removal or mounting. Samsung’s wall-mount guide also instructs users to disconnect the stand base.
- Prepare a protected work surface. If your manual instructs you to lay the monitor face down, follow its handling directions and avoid pressure on the screen. For the G55T family, Samsung specifies the supplied foam cushion or a thick mat if the foam is unavailable; check your own model’s manual for its instructions.
Use the release method for your model
Samsung’s service manual documents two different attachment methods among the models it covers. Confirm that your model is listed and follow the manual’s indicated direction rather than treating either method as universal.

These model-specific steps come from Samsung’s S-Series service manual (2023). If your model is not listed, use its own manual; do not assume it has a button, screws, or a pull-off stand.

If you are removing the stand for wall mounting
Removing a stand does not by itself establish that a monitor will fit a particular wall mount. Samsung says most of its monitors are VESA compatible, but directs users to the model manual for mounting supplies and screw size. Check the manual for your monitor’s VESA compatibility and required screws before attaching a mount; do not assume the S70A stand screws are the correct mounting screws. Samsung’s wall-mount guide also says to turn off the monitor, unplug it, and disconnect the stand base before mounting.
