To stop unwanted AI music on Deezer now, reject it from playback: start the track, tap the dislike or ban control, then choose Don’t recommend this track or Don’t recommend this artist. Deezer says that disliked content is removed from Flow, mixes and other recommendations, and you can review or undo those choices in Settings > Manage my dislikes (the wording can vary by app version).

Deezer has also announced a broader AI-music filter for search. The toggle is planned for global availability before the end of 2026, but it may not be present in your account yet. Until it appears, the dislike controls, Deezer’s automatic exclusions and the free playlist detector are the practical ways to keep fully AI-generated music out of your listening.

What Deezer already removes automatically

Deezer says it automatically excludes detected fully AI-generated tracks from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. That means a song identified as having been created entirely with generative AI should not be selected for Flow, personalized mixes or Deezer-curated recommendation surfaces.

This protection is narrower than a ban on every recording that used an AI tool. Deezer’s announced policy distinguishes a wholly synthetic production from a human-made recording that uses limited AI assistance, such as an editing, mixing or creative aid. The announced filter is aimed at the first category, not every song in which software played a small part.

Deezer reported that more than 42 million AI-generated tracks had been detected and excluded from algorithmic and editorial recommendations between January 2025 and August 2026. By October 2026, the company said more than 14 million albums had been tagged with AI-generated content. Those totals are Deezer’s own dated figures and will change as detection and cataloging continue.

Automatic exclusion is not a guarantee that no unwanted track will ever appear. Detection can happen after a release is ingested, a track may not yet be identified, and a song you find through direct search is not the same thing as an algorithmic recommendation. For a specific track or artist that is still affecting your listening, use Deezer’s manual dislike control.

Remove one AI track or an entire artist from recommendations

The manual control is available now and is the fastest way to change what Deezer recommends. You can reject one song without blocking its artist, or reject the artist so that the artist’s songs are removed from recommendation surfaces.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Start playback. Open the track that you do not want influencing your recommendations and begin playing it. The control is available from the playback view and, depending on the app version, from the track’s additional-options menu.
  2. Tap the dislike or ban control. Look for the thumbs-down, dislike or ban icon shown by your Deezer app. If the icon is not visible in the compact player, open the full Now Playing screen or the track’s three-dot menu.
  3. Choose the scope. Select Don’t recommend this track to reject only that recording. Select Don’t recommend this artist to remove that artist’s songs from recommendation systems. Confirm the choice if Deezer asks.
  4. Let recommendations refresh. Deezer says disliked content is removed from Flow, mixes and recommendations. A track already playing or already displayed in a screen may not disappear until you leave and reopen that surface, so check the next Flow or mix rather than judging by the current queue alone.

The artist-level option is useful when multiple releases from the same account appear synthetic or when you do not want to inspect every track individually. The track-level option is more precise when the artist also releases human-created music you still want to hear.

Review, change or undo your dislikes

Dislikes are reversible. To inspect the entries Deezer is using to shape recommendations, open Settings and choose Manage my dislikes. Deezer notes that menu wording can vary by app version, so use the settings search field if your installation labels the feature slightly differently.

  1. Open Deezer and go to your profile or account menu.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Manage my dislikes (or the equivalent dislike-management entry shown by your version).
  4. Find the track or artist you want to hear again.
  5. Remove that entry from the list, then return to Flow or your mix and allow the recommendations to update.

Removing an entry does not turn a disliked song into a favorite; it simply stops that particular exclusion from being applied. If you still do not want it suggested, leave the entry in place. If the item was misclassified or you changed your mind, removing it restores Deezer’s ability to recommend it.

Which Deezer control should you use?

These controls solve different problems. The table separates what is available now from what Deezer has announced, and whether the control affects recommendations, search or your own playlist audit.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Method Scope Availability What it covers Can you reverse it?
Don’t recommend this track One recording in recommendations Current Deezer control That track, whether or not it is fully AI-generated Yes, through Manage my dislikes
Don’t recommend this artist An artist’s songs in recommendations Current Deezer control The selected artist’s recommendation presence Yes, through Manage my dislikes
Automatic AI exclusion Flow, mixes, algorithmic and editorial recommendations Current for AI tracks Deezer detects Detected fully AI-generated tracks Not a user toggle; availability depends on detection
AI-music search filter Search results Announced October 13, 2026; global rollout planned before the end of 2026 Fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists Yes, by turning the filter off
Free AI Music Detector Your existing playlists Current Deezer service Playlist items the detector identifies as AI-generated You decide what to remove or keep

The distinction between recommendation and search is important. Disliking a track changes what Deezer suggests; it does not erase the song from Deezer’s catalog. The announced filter is designed to hide qualifying results when you search, while the detector helps you inspect playlists you already created or saved.

What the forthcoming AI-music search filter will do

On October 13, 2026, Deezer announced an on/off AI-music filter for search. Deezer says the control will exclude fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from search results. Global availability is planned before the end of 2026, so the setting may depend on your account, app version and the timing of the rollout.

When the toggle appears, enable it before searching if you want search pages to omit qualifying AI-generated content. Turn it off when you need to find a track, album or artist that has been classified as fully AI-generated. Because the control is for search results, it should not be described as a replacement for the dislike action: use dislike for a recommendation that is already influencing Flow or a mix.

Deezer’s community explanation also says the filter targets fully AI-generated music, not recordings made by humans who used limited AI assistance. A song with an AI-assisted element may therefore remain searchable even when the filter is enabled. That behavior follows the announced definition rather than indicating that the filter is broken.

Check an existing playlist with Deezer’s free AI Music Detector

If you have saved hundreds of tracks, manual inspection is inefficient. Deezer provides a free AI Music Detector that can scan playlists. Deezer says you do not need a Deezer subscription to use the detector.

  1. Open Deezer’s AI Music Detector.
  2. Choose Deezer as the streaming service.
  3. Connect the account that contains the playlists you want to inspect.
  4. Select a playlist and start the scan.
  5. Review the tracks the detector identifies as AI-generated, then decide whether to remove them from the playlist, keep them, or investigate the result further.

The detector is an audit tool, not an automatic playlist cleaner. It identifies results for you; the final action remains yours. If a playlist is collaborative or contains music from several sources, record which tracks you intend to remove before editing so that you do not delete a song you still want.

Deezer reported 99.8% detection accuracy for its AI Music Detector in 2026. Accuracy is a company-reported figure, not a promise that every future release will be classified correctly. Detection totals and models can change as new generation services, distribution accounts and musical styles appear.

Why an AI track can still appear

It was found through search, not recommended

Automatic exclusions apply to algorithmic and editorial recommendations. A direct search can still return catalog content unless the announced search filter is available and enabled. Use the search toggle when your account receives it, and use dislike when the same item appears in Flow or a mix.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Deezer has not identified it yet

Deezer’s exclusion depends on detection. A newly uploaded track or a release whose characteristics have not yet been classified may appear temporarily. Disliking the track or artist is the immediate user-level workaround while Deezer’s catalog data catches up.

The recording used limited AI assistance

The announced policy does not treat every use of AI software as fully AI-generated. Human creators may use limited assistance while writing, editing, mixing or producing a recording. Those tracks are outside the stated target of the search filter and may remain available in recommendations or search.

You are seeing an old recommendation surface

Flow, mixes and other pages can contain items that were loaded before you changed a preference. After using dislike, leave the page and reopen it to view a refreshed recommendation set. Then check whether the track returns in a newly generated Flow or mix.

A practical cleanup workflow

Use this sequence when you want both cleaner recommendations and cleaner saved playlists:

  1. Reject immediate offenders. For every unwanted item currently playing or recommended, choose Don’t recommend this track or Don’t recommend this artist.
  2. Check your exclusions. Open Settings > Manage my dislikes and verify that the intended entries are present. Remove only entries you want to restore.
  3. Scan saved playlists. Run the free AI Music Detector against playlists that matter most to you. Start with large, frequently played lists because those tracks are most likely to shape future listening.
  4. Edit deliberately. Remove identified tracks from playlists only after checking the detector’s result and your own preference. Detection is information; it does not force a deletion.
  5. Enable search filtering when offered. Once Deezer delivers the AI-music search toggle to your account, turn it on for searches where you want fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists hidden.
  6. Recheck after major playlist changes. Adding many new tracks can introduce content that was not present during an earlier scan. Run another audit when a playlist changes substantially.

Limits you should understand before relying on the filter

  • “AI-generated” is not the same as “contains any AI.” Deezer’s announced filter is for music created entirely through generative AI. Limited assistance in a human-led production is treated differently.
  • Recommendations and search are separate surfaces. The announced toggle is for search results. It does not replace dislike controls for Flow, mixes or other recommendation feeds.
  • Rollout timing is not universal yet. Deezer said global availability is planned before the end of 2026, but an individual account may receive the feature later and may require an updated app.
  • Detection figures are dated and company-reported. Deezer’s 42-million-track, 14-million-album and 99.8% accuracy figures describe its stated status in 2026; they are not permanent catalog limits or an independent audit.
  • Dislike is a recommendation preference, not a catalog deletion. The song remains available for direct playback unless another Deezer control or the rights holder removes it.

What Deezer listeners think about labeling

Deezer and Ipsos reported in 2025 that 97% of listeners in a blind test could not distinguish fully AI-generated music from human-created music. In the same study, 80% of listeners agreed that fully AI-generated music should be clearly labeled. Those findings help explain why Deezer is adding both automatic recommendation exclusions and a user-controlled search filter, but they do not change how the controls work in your account.

For everyday use, the reliable sequence is simple: dislike a track or artist that is affecting recommendations, manage the list in Settings, audit playlists with the free detector, and enable the search filter when it reaches your account. Together, those controls cover the current gaps between recommendations, search and saved music without pretending that limited AI assistance is the same as a fully synthetic recording.
