Use the per-site method whenever possible so other websites remain signed in and unchanged.
What you are removing
A browser game can save more than ordinary cache files. Depending on the browser, its site entry may contain cookies, Web Storage, application caches, Indexed Database records and other local state. Deleting that entry gives the site a fresh browser profile, which can fix a stuck login, corrupted settings or a game that repeatedly loads the wrong state.

Cookies may hold a sign-in session, consent choices or a small preference. Web Storage and Indexed Database can hold larger settings, downloaded game assets, guest-game progress and other structured records. Application caches and related browser storage can let a game load resources without downloading them again. Clearing the site entry can therefore change much more than the next page load.

Permissions are different. They are decisions such as whether the site may use your location, camera, microphone, JavaScript, pop-ups or other browser capabilities. Some browsers expose permissions beside the site-data controls; others require a separate settings page. Removing data does not automatically mean every permission has been revoked.

Before deleting anything
- Save anything that exists only in the browser. A guest game may have no server copy of its progress.
- Note the exact domain in the address bar. A game and its sign-in, advertising or embedded-service domains can appear as separate entries.
- If the game uses an account, verify that you know how to sign back in before removing cookies.
- Expect to be signed out and to lose remembered preferences after deletion.
- Write down important in-game settings, control mappings or accessibility choices if you may need to recreate them.
- Close duplicate game tabs before starting. An open tab can continue using its existing state until it is reloaded.
If the game displays a guest-save warning, treat it as a stop sign: confirm whether the save can be linked to an account or exported before clearing anything. A browser reset is not a backup.
Chrome on a desktop computer
Delete only the game’s site data
- Open Chrome’s menu and choose Settings.
- Open Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies.
- Choose See all site data and permissions.
- Search for the game’s site name or domain. Search the domain shown in the address bar rather than only the game’s title.
- Choose Delete beside the matching entry and confirm.
This removes the browser-held data listed for that site, including cookies and supported storage types. If the game also appears under a related login or embedded domain, repeat the search for that domain only when you are sure it belongs to the game. Do not remove every result merely because the names look similar; unrelated sites can share a company or advertising name.
If Chrome lists more than one entry for the same service, inspect the full host name. For example, a sign-in host and a game host may be separate records. Removing only the game host may leave an account session intact, while removing the sign-in host can sign you out of several services that use it.

Review Chrome permissions
Open the game again and inspect the site controls beside the address bar. Depending on the Chrome release, you may see the site’s current permissions and a control to reset them. Change only the capabilities you intend to revoke. If the game never needed camera, microphone or location access, leave those blocked rather than granting them in response to a prompt.
JavaScript and pop-ups can be necessary for some games, but changing those settings can also alter how the site works. If you reset a capability and the game stops functioning, return to the same site controls and allow only the required capability. A permission prompt appearing again is expected after a reset.
Chrome also documents a broader route: More > Delete browsing data. Select a time range, then Cookies and other site data and Delete data. The same dialog can include Site settings, described as deleting settings and permissions granted to websites. That category is broader than a one-game reset and may affect permissions for many sites, so use it only when a global reset is acceptable.
The time-range selector does not turn this into a per-site operation. If you select a broad category, Chrome can remove matching data from many websites during that period. Return to the site-data list when the goal is one game.
Firefox
When the game is open
- Open the game in Firefox.
- Click the padlock or shield icon beside the address bar.
- Choose Clear Cookies and Site Data.
- Confirm the removal.
This is the quickest way to clear the currently open game’s cookies and site data. It does not establish that every permission has been reset. If the page is embedded in another frame or uses a separate login domain, the visible address may not represent every domain involved.

When the game is not open
- Open Firefox Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security.
- Under Cookies and Site Data, choose Manage Data.
- Search for the game’s domain.
- Select the matching entry, then choose Remove All Shown or select individual entries.
- Choose Save Changes and confirm.
Use Firefox’s separate site-permission controls if you also need to revoke camera, location, pop-up or other access. The data-removal procedure alone should not be treated as a permissions reset. If the game uses several hosts, search each host deliberately and remove only the ones you can identify.
Firefox’s “Remove All Shown” action applies to everything returned by your search. Narrow the search first rather than entering a broad company name that could match unrelated services.
Microsoft Edge
Remove the game’s stored data
- Open Edge Settings.
- Choose Privacy, search, and services.
- Under cookies, open See all cookies and site data.
- Find the game’s site. Use the search field if the list is long.
- Expand the site entry and delete its stored data.
Edge may ask whether deletion should apply only to the current device or across devices using synchronization. Read that choice carefully: a synced removal can change the browser state on other devices signed in to the same profile. If you are troubleshooting only this computer, choose the local scope when Edge offers it.

Sign-in cookies may also be shared with other services, so expect an account prompt if the game’s authentication host was included.
Revoke Edge permissions
Open the separate Site permissions area and locate the game’s domain. Review location, cookies, pop-ups and any other listed capability, then change or clear the permission that should no longer be allowed. Data deletion and permission changes are separate tasks in Edge.
Review permissions one category at a time. Clearing a location permission does not necessarily change camera or microphone access. If a capability is listed as inherited or controlled by a managed policy, Edge may not let you change it; a work or school administrator can restrict these controls.
Safari on a Mac
Delete one website’s data
- In Safari, open Safari > Settings.
- Choose Privacy.
- Click Manage Website Data.
- Select the game’s website.
- Choose Remove, then close the dialog.
Safari’s list lets you select an individual website, making it suitable for a one-game reset. Search for related domains only if the game clearly uses them. Removing a listed website can delete cookies, local storage and other website data associated with that entry, so the game may request consent or a login again.
Review Safari website permissions
- Open Safari > Settings > Websites.
- Select the relevant capability category, such as camera, microphone, location, pop-ups or JavaScript.
- Find the game’s domain and change its setting or remove its configured entry.
Camera and microphone permissions in Safari are privacy-sensitive. Apple states that these permissions are not shared across Apple devices, so check each Mac where the game was used. A change on one Mac does not prove that another Mac has the same setting.

If the game uses an account provider in a separate browser entry, clearing only the game’s host may not end that provider’s session. Check the address bar and the website-data list before deciding whether the related entry should also be removed.
Safari on an iPhone
The documented website-data route removes everything
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Choose Apps > Safari > Advanced > Website Data.
- Tap Remove All Website Data.
- Tap Remove Now to confirm.
This iPhone procedure removes all website data, not just one game’s entry. It can sign you out of unrelated sites and remove their remembered settings. The cited Apple instructions do not provide a per-game website-data deletion sequence on iPhone, so do not describe this route as a selective reset.
Because the action is global, record any important sign-in details first and warn other people who use the same iPhone profile. If you only need to change a permission, do that instead of removing all website data.
Adjust iPhone website permissions
Safari’s website settings let you adjust permissions for a site. Open the relevant Safari website-setting controls, locate the game and change the capability you want to revoke. Data removal and permission changes remain separate decisions. If the game asks for access again, allow only the capability you understand and need.

For a one-game reset, Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari on Mac all provide a selective route. Safari on iPhone is the outlier in the documented steps because its website-data action is all-site. Across every browser, permission scope deserves a separate check.
What happens after a reset
Likely effects
- The game may sign you out because its login cookie was removed.
- Remembered preferences, consent choices, settings and locally stored saves may disappear.
- The first visit may load more slowly while the game rebuilds local files.
- The site may ask for permissions again, depending on which settings you changed.
- A game may display its introductory setup screens again because its local state was removed.
These effects are normal and do not by themselves indicate a failed deletion. Sign in again only after confirming that the account is the correct one. If the game offers a choice between a cloud save and a new guest profile, select the account-linked option when you want existing progress.
What the browser cannot promise
Removing a site entry affects information stored in that browser profile. It is not proof that the game’s account, cloud save or server-side profile has been deleted. If progress matters, check whether it is linked to an account before clearing local state. Deleting browser data cannot substitute for a game provider’s account-deletion or progress-management process.

Choosing the right scope
Use a per-site deletion when
- Only one game is malfunctioning.
- You want to keep other websites signed in.
- You are troubleshooting corrupted local state without changing the rest of the browser.
- You want to test whether the problem is caused by cookies or local storage rather than by the account or network.
Use a broader deletion only when
- You intentionally want to reset many sites.
- You are comfortable signing in again and rebuilding site preferences.
- A browser-wide permissions problem is the issue.
- You have confirmed that no important guest saves or offline data depend on the browser profile.
When a browser offers a device-versus-sync choice, decide whether the reset should affect only this installation or every synchronized device. Do not choose a synced deletion casually if another person or another workflow depends on that browser profile.
Do you need cleaning software?
No. The built-in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari settings are the supported way to remove one game’s site data and review permissions. A cleaner, privacy extension, maintenance utility or physical privacy device is not required for this task. Installing an extra tool can introduce another account, permission request or broad-cleaning option when the browser already exposes the needed controls.
Troubleshooting when the game still misbehaves
The game still remembers the old state
Check that you deleted the exact domain in the address bar. A sign-in host, game host and embedded service can be separate entries. Close and reopen the browser after deletion, then sign in again. If the game uses a second domain, remove that entry only when you can identify its role. A browser’s site-data list is the best confirmation that an entry was actually removed.

You were signed out unexpectedly
That is a normal consequence of deleting authentication cookies. Sign back in using the game’s account system. If you cannot recover the account, stop before deleting more data and use the provider’s account-recovery process.
The game asks for a permission again
Review the site’s permission panel and grant only what the game requires. A prompt can reappear after a permission reset; that does not mean the data deletion failed. If the request is for a camera, microphone or location feature the game does not need, deny it and continue without that capability.
The browser menu does not match these labels
Browser interfaces change between releases, operating systems and managed profiles. Search the installed browser’s Settings page for “site data,” “cookies,” “website data” or “site permissions.” Work or school policies can hide or restrict these controls. The procedures above were checked against official Chrome, Mozilla, Microsoft and Apple support guidance on October 13, 2026, but your visible labels may differ.
Clearing data did not fix the game
Test whether the problem is account-side, server-side or caused by an extension, network filter or browser update. Because a browser reset cannot remove server-held progress or repair a provider outage, further deletion is unlikely to help when the same error appears after a clean sign-in on another device. Avoid repeating a global clear without a specific reason; it only increases the chance of losing unrelated sessions and preferences.
A safe reset checklist
- Record the game’s exact domain and confirm whether progress is account-linked.
- Close other game tabs so you do not accidentally delete the wrong site.
- Delete the game’s single site entry using your browser’s platform-specific path.
- Review permissions separately and revoke only unwanted capabilities.
- Reopen the game and sign in again if required.
- Check whether progress and settings are present before deleting any broader browser data.
- If the browser offers synchronization scope, confirm whether the change is local or shared.
- Keep the provider’s account-recovery route available before removing authentication data.

The cited Apple iPhone route is Remove All Website Data, which removes data for every website. It should not be presented as a per-game deletion procedure.
Why did the game sign me out?
The login cookie was probably removed. Sign in again with the correct account. If you cannot recover it, stop clearing data and use the game provider’s account-recovery process.
Why does the permission prompt appear again?
A permission reset can cause a site to ask again. Grant only the capability the game needs, or deny it if the feature is unnecessary.
Do I need a browser-cleaning app?
No. The browsers’ built-in settings provide the supported controls for removing site data and reviewing permissions.
