Register for your local Walk

Go to the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s site and choose Find a Walk near you to locate an event.

Open the local event page and select Register. Follow the prompts to register as an individual or start a team.

If you are a new participant and choose Start a team, you become its captain. If you have participated before, log in; you can start a new team or restart your team from the prior year.

The Association describes the Walk as an annual event held in more than 600 communities nationwide. That is the organizer’s description; it does not mean every community has the same date, route, or event-day arrangements.
Start a team and invite people
Choose the team option that fits
Register as an individual if you do not plan to organize a group. Start a team if you want to invite others and coordinate their participation. Returning participants can choose whether to create a new team or restart their previous one.
Recruit team members
Invite friends, family, coworkers, and others who may want to take part. The Association recommends asking people one-on-one and offers recruiting materials, including videos, tips, and printable items, through its Participant Center.

Personalize your fundraising page
After registering, use the Participant Center to add a photo and personal message explaining why you are walking. A page that reflects your reason for participating gives supporters context when you share it.
The Association’s ALZ Fundraising app can also be used to update your page, receive donation notifications, send fundraising requests by text, and share your story on social media. A self-donation is optional: you can make one during registration or later through the Participant Center or app dashboard.
Confirm event-day details with your local organizer
The national Walk materials do not set one schedule or route for every location. Before event day, check your local event page or contact its organizer for:

Walk participation is described as open to all ages and abilities on a regional Association page, but that does not establish the specific route or accommodations at every event. Ask the local organizer about the arrangements you need. Comfortable walking shoes are a sensible optional item; the Association’s reviewed materials do not specify a required shoe type.

The Association describes the garden as a colorful display of participants’ determination and reasons to end the disease.
Check current offers on the local event page
Promotions are not necessarily available at every Walk or in every year. For example, a South Carolina Association page described a flower-pin challenge for June 9–22, 2025, with requirements to register as a team captain, customize a fundraising page, and make a self-donation. That dated promotion should not be treated as a current or nationwide benefit; check the current local event page for any incentives.
