Usually, you cannot get a refund for a Super Chat you chose to send—even if it went to the wrong 24/7 livestream or you did not get the interaction you expected. YouTube describes Super Chats as voluntary, non-refundable payments, and its published guidance does not list a special exception for continuous streams. If you did not authorize the charge, report it through YouTube’s unauthorized-purchase process instead.
Can you get a refund for a Super Chat on a 24/7 stream?
YouTube Help says Super Chats are voluntary and non-refundable payments. That applies to the ordinary cases of changing your mind, sending the wrong amount or message, or regretting the stream you chose. The reviewed policy does not name a separate exception for a stream that runs continuously, so a 24/7 format does not itself establish a right to a refund. See YouTube’s Super Chat refund guidance and its payment troubleshooting guidance.

A Super Chat is a paid message in live chat. YouTube notes that a creator may end the live chat or stream before a paid message’s ticker time is complete, and that Super Chats do not transfer between videos. Do not assume the message or its display time can be moved to another stream; the purchase details are covered in YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Sticker help.

| What happened | What to do |
|---|---|
| You intentionally sent the Super Chat but regret the amount, recipient stream, or outcome. | YouTube’s stated policy is that Super Chats are non-refundable. The 24/7 format does not create a published exception. |
| You did not authorize the transaction. | Report it through YouTube’s unauthorized-purchase process promptly. YouTube states a 120-day reporting window for unauthorized digital purchases; that is a reporting deadline, not a promise of a refund. |
| The purchase was accidental and unauthorized, but you do not believe it was fraud. | YouTube’s instructions direct this situation to the refund request route on its website. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval. |
How to report an unauthorized Super Chat charge
- Check that you did not authorize it. A payment you personally approved but later regretted is different from a transaction made without your permission. Describe the circumstances accurately.
- Use YouTube’s official unauthorized-purchase instructions. Open YouTube’s page for reporting unauthorized purchases and follow the report link and steps shown there. YouTube says to report an unauthorized digital purchase within 120 days of the transaction. Its help page does not state a publication year for that deadline.
- If it was accidental rather than fraud, use the website refund route YouTube identifies. Follow the route in the same help instructions. YouTube describes where to request help; it does not guarantee that a refund will be granted.
- Keep the transaction details and any claim information. Save the relevant confirmation and follow-up information so you can track the report.
- Check who billed you. The billing provider can change where a payment issue must be handled; see the next section before submitting a request.
Check whether YouTube, Google Play, or Apple billed you
For a purchase billed by Apple, YouTube’s iPhone and iPad guidance directs users with an unauthorized Super Chat charge or another payment issue to Apple Support. YouTube also says Apple-billed purchases follow Apple’s refund policies and cannot be refunded by YouTube. Start with YouTube’s payment troubleshooting page for the applicable guidance.

Some newer purchases made in the Android app may be billed through Google Play. Check the purchase details and follow the instructions for the provider that processed the payment; YouTube’s relevant guidance is in its Super Chat and Super Sticker help. Do not assume every in-app purchase uses the same billing route.
Deleting the message will not refund it
Deleting a Super Chat message after the livestream does not reverse the payment. YouTube Help states: “Deleting a Super Chat message post-live stream will not result in a refund.” Ending a stream, waiting for a 24/7 stream to restart, or asking the creator to remove the message should not be treated as a refund method. See YouTube’s live-chat moderation guidance.
