3. Check the regional store page
Promotional language is not necessarily identical worldwide. The North American Square Enix Store lists PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions and describes the incentives as redeemable with purchase. Square Enix Asia provides the more detailed Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox edition conditions quoted above. Use the store serving your account and physical address, because a package sold in one region may contain different media or eligibility language in another.
4. Distinguish digital and physical eligibility
Do not transfer the Nintendo Switch 2 wording to Xbox: the published Xbox condition specifies digital purchases, while Nintendo Switch 2 includes both physical and digital Collection [I–III] purchases. The North American store separately lists a Nintendo Switch 2 version and identifies Long Night among the purchase incentives. For a physical copy, read the exact regional listing because the bundle may combine physical packaging with digital-only components. The presence of a cartridge or box is not, by itself, proof that all collection content is stored on that physical medium.
PlayStation 5: Midnight Blue
Midnight Blue is the PlayStation-associated Keyblade, and the official PlayStation product page displays it. The current collection information refers to PlayStation 5. Steam: Dead of Night
Dead of Night is the Keyblade named for Steam. The available official information does not give a qualifying edition, a date-limited promotion window, or a claim-menu sequence for Steam. Check the current Steam product description and the applicable Square Enix support page for your region and account. Physical-copy installation requirements
The North American Square Enix Store states: “To play the physical version of KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III], an internet connection and additional data download are required.” The same listing covers the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions.
This is a playability requirement, not merely a convenience. A physical owner should plan to connect the console to the internet and allow the additional data to download before judging whether the collection or its in-game extra is available. A box, disc, or cartridge does not guarantee an entirely offline installation.
- Have the console connected to the internet before starting installation.
- Allow the required additional data download to finish.
- Use the same platform account that made or received the qualifying purchase.
- Keep the physical package and purchase receipt available if the entitlement needs to be verified.
Square Enix’s statement does not give a download size, estimated time, or offline workaround, so do not rely on unofficial figures or assume that disconnecting after the first installation step will produce a complete playable collection.

Use the labels and help text in the specific game where the item is supplied. If the installed version exposes the Keyblade through its normal equipment or inventory controls, select it there; if no item is visible, stop before deleting saves, reinstalling unrelated games, or entering third-party codes.
