This is a documented Switch transfer flow; it should not be assumed to apply to original GBA hardware.
Where do I pick up the gift?
Receiving the Wonder Card and collecting its reward are separate steps. After the card is saved, speak to the deliveryman in green upstairs in a Pokémon Center, as described by the community guide.
