If you can’t access the email on your Roblox account, try password recovery by phone if a number was already attached. If neither an accessible email nor an attached phone is available, contact Roblox Customer Support and explain the login problem. Roblox requires ownership verification before resetting an account or changing its information, so support review is the official route—not a guarantee of recovery.
Choose the recovery route that matches your situation
| What you can access or know | What to try |
|---|---|
| A phone number already attached to the account | Reset the password using the Phone tab on Roblox’s recovery page. |
| No usable email or attached phone | Contact Roblox Customer Support and provide truthful account details for ownership verification. |
| You suspect someone took over the account or changed its email | Secure your device, then contact Support. The first email added or billing email for the first payment may help with verification. |
| You don’t know the username | Check Roblox purchase receipts; some include the account username. If that does not help, contact Support about ownership. |
| Two-Step Verification (2SV) blocks login | Try another verification method already set up for the account, or contact Support if none works. |
Reset your password with an attached phone number
This route works only if a phone number was added to the Roblox account and you can receive messages at that number.

- On the Roblox login page, select Forgot Password or Username.
- Choose the Phone tab, select the country code, and enter the attached number.
- Request the code and enter the six-digit verification code Roblox sends you.
- Follow the prompts to set a new password. Choose one that you do not use on another site.
Roblox’s password-reset instructions describe this process. Phone-number login is a separate feature and is available only in some Roblox apps for accounts with a verified number; don’t assume it works on every platform or in every region. Adding a phone number is also limited to select countries, according to Roblox’s phone verification help page.

Give accurate details you know; don’t invent information or assume that submitting a request will restore access.
If the account may have been hacked
If someone may have changed the account email or password, address the possibility that the device itself is compromised as well as the account.

- Contact Support through the official form and explain that you believe the account was taken over.
- If available, provide the first email address ever added to the account or the billing email used for the very first payment. Roblox says either may help verify ownership, even if an attacker changed the email.
- If access is restored, reset the password and enable 2-Step Verification.
Roblox says that the first email or first-payment billing email can be useful during its review, but neither guarantees recovery. If the account was created without an email or a credit-card or PayPal purchase, Roblox says it may still explore other verification options; it does not publish a full list. See “My account was hacked – What do I do?” for its guidance.

Roblox’s forgotten-username process uses an email address or phone number already added to the account. If you can’t use either, look through receipts for Roblox purchases: some receipts include the account username. If you have no usable recovery detail or receipt, contact Support about verifying ownership rather than relying on the username lookup. Roblox explains the options in “I Forgot My Username.”

If Two-Step Verification is the obstacle
Losing access to the account email and losing the primary 2SV method are different problems, though they can occur together. Roblox says recovery from a lost primary 2SV method requires two different verification methods in the account details. Depending on what was configured, options may include backup codes, an eligible phone number, a passkey, or approval from another device. If none of the offered methods works, contact Support. Roblox describes these options in its 2-Step Verification help article.
Backup codes are one-time-use and are shown only when generated, so they help only if you saved them beforehand. Never send a backup code to someone claiming they can recover your account.

Protect your account and recovery information
- Use only Roblox’s official website, apps, and Support form to sign in or request help.
- Never share your password, browser cookies, 2SV codes, backup codes, personal details, or sensitive information about your computer. Roblox says its employees will not ask for these secrets.
- Be wary of anyone offering recovery in exchange for your credentials, codes, or Robux. A third-party recovery service cannot replace Roblox’s ownership review.
- If you regain access, use a unique password and enable 2SV. Keep any backup codes somewhere safe and private.
Roblox’s account safety guidance explains what not to share. A security scan can help address a possibly compromised device; it does not recover a Roblox account.
