If someone may have accessed your Roblox account, secure the device first, reset the password through Roblox’s official recovery flow, then end unfamiliar sessions under Settings > Security > Where you’re logged in. After access is restored, turn on stronger sign-in protection and contact Roblox Support promptly if an attacker changed your recovery details or took items. Roblox’s English-language help pages are written for the United States; labels and available options can vary by app, device, or later product changes.
Do these things before changing the password
A password reset will not solve the problem if malware, a stolen browser cookie, or a malicious extension is still monitoring the device. Start with the source of the compromise, using a device you trust whenever possible.

- Disconnect suspicious software. Remove downloads, apps, browser extensions, scripts, or files you installed shortly before the account was compromised, especially anything that promised free Robux, exploits, cheats, account generators, or a “verification” step outside Roblox.
- Run a full malware scan. Use your operating system’s full or offline scan, not only a quick scan. If the computer continues to show pop-ups, unknown processes, or browser redirects, finish cleaning it or use another trusted device before signing in again.
- Secure the email account and phone used for recovery. Change that account’s password from a clean device and enable its own two-step protection. An attacker who still controls your email can undo a Roblox password reset.
- Stop sharing secrets. Never give anyone your Roblox password, browser cookies, two-step verification codes, backup codes, personal details, or sensitive computer information. Roblox Support will not need those secrets sent through chat or social media.
Keep evidence such as password-reset messages, changed-email notices, transaction receipts, and approximate times. Do not delay urgent account recovery while trying to build a perfect record, but preserve anything that may help Support verify ownership.
A fast response order
When the compromise is active, work in this order: clean or replace the device, secure the email and phone accounts, reset Roblox access, revoke sessions, inspect account settings, and then enable additional protection. This order prevents a keylogger or browser extension from immediately capturing the new password. If you are already signed in on a trusted device, leave that session available long enough to confirm your recovery email or phone and reach the Security page; avoid signing out everywhere until you know which recovery method you can use again.

Do not install a “Roblox recovery tool,” pay someone who contacts you in a game, or send a screenshot of a verification code. A person claiming to be a moderator can still be an impersonator. Open Roblox yourself by typing the address or using the official app, rather than using a link supplied in a direct message.
Choose the recovery route you can still control
Roblox offers self-service recovery through the contact method currently attached to the account. If the attacker replaced that method, the route changes to ownership verification with Support.

Use only the official Roblox login and support pages. Do not follow reset links sent by strangers, and check the sender and destination before entering credentials.

When the linked email still works
- Open the Roblox login page and select Forgot Password or Username?.
- Enter the email address currently associated with the account and submit the request.
- Open the message from Roblox and follow its reset link. If it does not appear, check spam or junk folders and make sure you entered the correct address.
- Create a password that is long, unique to Roblox, and not a variation of the old password. Do not reuse a password from another account.
- Sign in again from the clean device. Do not save the new password in a browser or password manager you suspect is compromised; clean or replace that environment first.
If the reset message arrives at an address you do not recognize, the account’s recovery email may have been changed. Stop trying random passwords and move to Support rather than triggering additional lockouts.
When a linked phone number is the only recovery method
Choose Phone in the same Forgot Password or Username? flow. Enter the number in the format requested by the page and complete the code verification. A phone reset works only when that number remains attached to the account and can receive the required message. If the number was removed, recycled, or cannot receive the code, use Support.
When the attacker changed the email or phone
Submit an account-compromise request to Roblox Support. Roblox says that the first email address ever added to the account or the billing email used for the first payment can help establish original ownership, even when the current email has been replaced. Include those details exactly as they appeared, along with the username and a clear timeline of what changed.

Ownership information helps Roblox evaluate the request; it does not guarantee that the account will be returned. Do not send a password, cookie, two-step code, or backup code as “proof.” Support may ask for additional information through its official process.

Prepare a useful Support request
Give Support one consistent account history rather than several conflicting submissions. State the username, the email first added to the account if known, the billing email used for the first payment if different, the date or approximate time you lost control, and whether the attacker changed the email, phone, password, or 2SV settings. Attach only information requested through the official form. Receipts and transaction dates can support your timeline, but they do not replace Roblox’s ownership review.
Use an email address you currently control for the reply, and monitor it for follow-up questions. Support cannot safely verify ownership from a social-media username alone. If you regain access while a ticket is open, tell Support what changed and continue securing the account rather than opening unrelated tickets.
Remove unauthorized sessions after you sign in
Changing the password and ending existing sessions address different parts of an intrusion. A person already signed in may remain connected until that session is revoked, so perform the session review immediately after regaining access.
Review the session list
- Sign in to Roblox.
- Open Settings.
- Select Security.
- Open Where you’re logged in.
- Inspect each entry’s approximate regional location, device, and last-active time.
Compare those details with devices and locations you recognize. A location is approximate, so a nearby or different city can result from your internet provider, mobile routing, or a virtual private network. Treat a combination of an unfamiliar device, recent activity, and a location you cannot explain as stronger evidence than location alone.

Select the suspicious entry and use its individual log-out control. This is the narrow option when you want to keep trusted phones, tablets, consoles, or browsers signed in. After logging it out, change the password if you have not already done so and watch for the entry to reappear.

Log out everywhere else
For a broad reset, choose Log Out of All Other Sessions. Roblox keeps the session you are using active and ends the others, so every legitimate device will need to sign in again. Use this option when you cannot confidently identify every trusted device, when the account was shared, or when several unfamiliar sessions appear.

Some older inactive entries may have incomplete information or display Unknown. That label by itself does not prove that a current attacker is connected. Use the available device, region, and activity information, and prefer the all-other-sessions option when the history is too unclear to assess safely.
What to do when you see a familiar device
Do not assume every familiar device is safe if another person can use it. A family tablet, school computer, or shared browser may have saved cookies or extensions. Sign out of that device, remove unknown extensions, scan it, and sign in again only after it is clean. If you cannot inspect a shared device, log out all other sessions and use a personal device for future access.
Confirm that the attacker no longer controls the account
Once sessions are closed, check every control an intruder might have changed. Work through these checks in one sitting so a hidden change does not become the next route back in.
- Email: Confirm that the account email is yours and that you can receive messages there.
- Phone: Confirm that any listed number belongs to you and is still reachable.
- Password: Verify that the new password is the one you just created and is not used on another service.
- Two-step settings: Review which methods are enabled and remove methods you do not recognize.
- Backup codes: Replace or regenerate codes if an attacker could have seen them, then store the new set privately.
- Profile and privacy: Look for changed username details, birth date, privacy controls, linked devices, or messages that you did not create.
- Transactions: Check purchase history and payment accounts for charges you did not authorize. Contact the payment provider through its normal fraud process when necessary.
Do not click a “security alert” link in an unsolicited direct message to perform these checks. Open Roblox yourself and navigate through Settings.
Turn on protection that survives a stolen password
Enable 2-Step Verification
Roblox recommends a unique password and 2-Step Verification (2SV). A verified email is required to enable 2SV. In account settings, open the security area, choose the available 2SV method, and complete the verification prompts shown for your account.

Keep the recovery path in mind before enabling it. Roblox’s 2SV guidance warns that losing the primary 2SV method can require two different verification methods to regain access. Save backup codes in a password manager or another protected offline location, and do not store them in a public note, screenshot folder shared with others, or chat thread. If your primary method is a phone or authenticator device, plan how you would recover when that device is lost or replaced.

Enhanced Protection is an optional, more phishing-resistant sign-in mode that uses passkeys or hardware security keys. Roblox lists these requirements:
- A passkey configured for sign-in, or a compatible hardware security key such as a YubiKey security key.
- A verified email address on the Roblox account.
- A secondary identity-verification method, such as a verified phone number or saved backup codes.
This is hardening after recovery, not a recovery device. Enabling it without preserving a second method can leave you unable to sign in if the passkey or key is lost. Check the options Roblox presents on your device before enrolling, and keep a separate recovery method available. A hardware key is optional and is not required to recover a hacked account; its value is reducing phishing risk after you have regained control.

Document the loss quickly: note the date you noticed it, item or currency names, suspicious trades or purchases, and any related emails or receipts. Then contact Roblox Support through the official channel and explain that the account was compromised.
Roblox does not guarantee restoration of lost items or currency. Its guidance says assistance may be available only in very limited circumstances and that the compromised-account owner seeking that help must contact Roblox within 30 days of the compromise. The 30-day period is a deadline for requesting possible help, not a promise that inventory or currency will be returned. Do not pay a third party that claims it can recover items, and do not give anyone your login or verification codes.

If unauthorized charges appear, preserve the transaction details and contact the payment provider through its normal fraud channel. Do not reverse legitimate purchases simply because an item is missing; explain the suspected compromise and let the provider advise you. Keep copies of Roblox replies and receipts with the timeline you send to Support.

Use a clean recovery checklist
- Malicious downloads and browser extensions removed.
- Full malware scan completed on the device used for recovery.
- Email and phone recovery accounts secured.
- Roblox password reset with a unique value.

- Individual sessions removed or Log Out of All Other Sessions used.

Account recovery is complete only when the device is clean, the recovery channels belong to you, unknown sessions are revoked, and you can still use an independent method to prove ownership if a sign-in challenge occurs.
