Often, yes. First check Samsung Gallery’s Trash or Recycle bin, then Google Photos and any cloud account that may hold another copy. Restore the photo as soon as you find it: Samsung says Gallery items stay in its bin for 30 days, while Samsung’s Google Photos guidance gives a 60-day Trash window. Previously synced photos may also remain in OneDrive, but Samsung Gallery Sync with OneDrive ended on September 30, 2026.

Select the photo and tap Restore. Samsung’s Canadian instructions describe opening the bin, tapping Edit, selecting items, and choosing Restore or Restore All.

Samsung Canada says deleted items remain in the Gallery bin for 30 days before automatic permanent deletion. You can also check My Files > Recycle bin, which Samsung says can manage deleted items from Gallery and other Samsung apps. Samsung Canada: restore deleted photos and videos from Gallery’s Trash.
Check Google Photos and the account used for backup

Open Google Photos and go to Library > Trash (the path in Samsung India’s guidance).

Select the photo and tap Restore if it appears.

If it is missing, check whether Google Photos is signed in to the Google account that backed it up. Photos can seem absent when a different account is open.

Look for a previously synced copy in OneDrive
Samsung Gallery Sync with OneDrive ended on September 30, 2026. Samsung says photos synced before the service ended remain in the user’s OneDrive account; new photos no longer sync through this Gallery integration. Open OneDrive and check its Gallery tab or the location where the photo was stored.
If you deleted the file from OneDrive, open the OneDrive app, tap your profile icon, choose Recycle bin, tap the three dots beside the photo, and choose Restore. Samsung says photos and videos deleted from OneDrive remain in its Recycle bin for 93 days. This period applies to OneDrive’s bin, not Samsung Gallery’s. Samsung US: access photos synced with OneDrive and restore deleted items.

Previously synced through Samsung Gallery Sync: look in the OneDrive account that received the copy, including OneDrive Recycle bin if you deleted it there.

Missing from all bins: check that you are using the right accounts and that backup or sync actually took place. Samsung’s recovery guidance covers items in a bin or an existing backup; it does not establish a guaranteed way to recover a photo permanently deleted everywhere without another copy.
Samsung notes that screens and settings can vary by device and software version. If a label differs, look for Gallery’s Trash or Recycle bin and check the relevant cloud account. Samsung US: recover deleted photos.
Retention periods are separate

These are service-specific periods reported by Samsung support, not one shared recovery deadline. Samsung Gallery Sync’s end date is also distinct: previously synced copies may remain in OneDrive, but the Gallery integration no longer syncs new photos.
What to do if the photo is not there
Check each relevant bin and account, including whether the photo was ever backed up or synced. If it was permanently deleted from its bin and no other copy exists, the Samsung support instructions cited here do not promise recovery. Avoid assuming that a recovery method will work without evidence for your Galaxy model and situation.
