Zojirushi’s latest annual results show sales and operating profit rising in FY2025, but profit attributable to parent owners and basic EPS falling. That split matters: “earnings growth” depends on which line of the income statement you mean. Use the figures below to assess the operating trend, then weigh it against cash flow, the company’s forecast and—before making an investment decision—valuation and your own objectives.
Start with the reporting period
Zojirushi Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange code 7965) makes cooking appliances, household appliances and household and thermal products. Its fiscal year runs from November 21 through November 20; the FY2025 consolidated results cover November 21, 2024 to November 20, 2025 and use Japanese GAAP. For a useful trend, compare consolidated net sales and operating profit over the same fiscal periods. Then look further down the income statement at ordinary profit, profit attributable to owners of the parent and earnings per share (EPS). Each measures a different part of the financial picture.

Zojirushi’s official financial highlights report rising net sales in every year shown, from ¥77,673 million in FY2021 to ¥91,151 million in FY2025. Operating profit did not rise steadily: it dropped in FY2022, then increased for three consecutive years to a five-year high in FY2025.

For FY2025, net sales increased 4.5% year over year and operating profit increased 24.9%. The operating margin—operating profit as a share of sales—rose to 8.2%, from 6.8% in FY2024. Taken together, these figures indicate that operating profit grew faster than sales in the latest reported year. They do not establish that every measure of profit improved.

Follow profit through the income statement
“Earnings” can refer to different figures. Operating profit reflects the core business before non-operating items. Ordinary profit includes non-operating income and expenses. Profit attributable to owners of the parent is the bottom-line amount attributable to the company’s parent shareholders; basic EPS expresses that profit per share.

The layers tell different stories: operating and ordinary profit rose, while parent-attributable profit and basic EPS fell. A sound description is therefore that Zojirushi’s FY2025 sales and operating profit improved, but its bottom-line profit attributable to parent owners and EPS declined. The figures alone do not explain the causes of that divergence.
Check whether profit translated into cash
Operating cash flow was ¥9,930 million in FY2025, up from ¥5,510 million in FY2024. Ending cash and cash equivalents were ¥29,568 million, down from ¥30,603 million; the equity ratio was 75.0%, compared with 75.3% a year earlier. Those measures add context about cash generation and the balance sheet, but they do not determine whether the stock is attractively priced.

When reviewing cash conversion, compare operating cash flow with reported profit over the same period and look for persistent divergence rather than treating one year as decisive. Here, operating cash flow increased year over year, even as parent-attributable profit decreased. The reported figures do not, on their own, explain why.
Read the FY2026 forecast as an expectation, not a result
In its FY2025 release, Zojirushi forecast FY2026 net sales of ¥92,500 million, operating profit of ¥6,600 million, ordinary profit of ¥7,100 million and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥4,800 million. Relative to FY2025 actual results, the forecast implied modestly higher sales but lower operating profit, ordinary profit and parent-attributable profit.

These were management’s expectations at the time of the December 25, 2025 filing, not realized FY2026 performance. Zojirushi cautioned that its projections rely on information then available and assumptions it considered reasonable, are not guaranteed, and may differ significantly from actual results. What the trend can—and cannot—tell a prospective investor
The five-year series supports a measured conclusion: sales rose each year through FY2025, and operating profit recovered from its FY2022 low to a five-year high. The latest year also brought a higher operating margin, but lower profit attributable to parent owners and EPS. Cash flow improved year over year, while ending cash and the equity ratio were slightly lower.
That is an operating and financial trend, not a buy or sell signal. Revenue and earnings do not establish fair value. A stock decision also requires a current share price and valuation, expected cash returns such as dividends, capital-allocation context, product and regional exposure, currency sensitivity, and a fit with your time horizon and risk tolerance. The figures here do not settle those questions.
