Read Indo-MIM’s annual report in a fixed sequence: identify whether the figures are standalone or consolidated, confirm whether amounts are in INR million or INR lakhs, scan the directors’ performance table, rebuild the income statement, then test the balance sheet and cash flow. For FY2025, Indo-MIM Limited’s standalone gross revenue was INR 28,338.46 million, profit before tax (PBT) was INR 5,449.50 million and profit after tax (PAT) was INR 4,035.16 million. Those numbers are meaningful only when their reporting scope, units and exceptional items are kept consistent.
The guide below shows how to read each statement, calculate the principal ratios, understand why revenue and profit can move at different speeds, and avoid mixing FY2024 special-purpose figures with FY2025 comparisons.

1. Fix the reporting scope and units before reading any ratio
Indo-MIM’s investor materials list FY2024-25 standalone and consolidated statements, as well as FY2023-24 special-purpose statements. Treat each set as a separate dataset. Write the scope and unit at the top of every worksheet, such as “Indo-MIM Limited, standalone, FY2025, INR million.” A ratio is not comparable when its numerator comes from a consolidated statement and its denominator comes from a standalone statement.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesStandalone versus consolidated
Standalone statements describe Indo-MIM Limited itself. Consolidated statements add the company’s subsidiaries and therefore represent the wider group. For FY2025, consolidated total income was INR 33,739.72 million, consolidated PBT was INR 5,810.03 million and consolidated PAT was INR 4,237.34 million. These values should not be inserted into a trend table that otherwise uses standalone revenue, PBT or PAT.

Million versus lakh
One million rupees equals 10 lakh rupees. FY2025 figures in the published standalone summary are in INR million, while the FY2024 report presents several figures in INR lakhs. Converting can help you understand scale, but it does not cure differences in reporting basis. Keep the original unit visible and record any conversion beside the number.
| Document and scope | Unit shown in the report | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| FY2025 standalone | INR million | Use as one internally consistent FY2025 dataset. |
| FY2025 consolidated | INR million | Use for group-level analysis; do not mix with standalone ratios. |
| FY2024 standalone report | INR lakhs | Use the report’s own comparative columns and label it as a special-purpose FY2024 dataset. |
2. Start with the directors’ performance table
The directors’ report is the quickest way to see the reported year-over-year direction before opening the detailed notes. For FY2025 standalone, the headline figures are:
| Measure | FY2025 standalone | Reported change or margin |
|---|---|---|
| Gross revenue | INR 28,338.46 million | Revenue growth of 16.22% versus FY2024 |
| Revenue from operations | INR 27,954.77 million | — |
| Other income | INR 383.69 million | — |
| Profit before tax (PBT) | INR 5,449.50 million | PBT growth of 29.05% |
| Profit after tax (PAT) | INR 4,035.16 million | PAT growth of 39.97% |
| Basic EPS | INR 8.37 | Check share-count and face-value changes before comparing years. |
| PBT margin | 19.23% | PBT divided by gross revenue |
| PAT margin | 14.24% | PAT divided by gross revenue |
The table indicates that the reported FY2025 profit growth rates exceeded the reported revenue growth rate. Do not interpret that as proof of a permanent margin improvement until you have checked the detailed expense lines, exceptional items, tax and the exact comparative basis used in the report.

Rebuilding the statement prevents a headline percentage from hiding the source of the change. Trace operating revenue to gross revenue, then subtract every cost in the published order.
- Start with revenue from operations: INR 27,954.77 million.
- Add other income: INR 383.69 million. The two lines produce gross revenue of INR 28,338.46 million.
- Subtract operating and non-operating expenses: total expenses were INR 21,737.40 million. Read the notes for materials, inventory changes, employee costs, finance costs, depreciation and other expenses rather than treating “expenses” as one undifferentiated number.
- Identify exceptional items separately: profit before exceptional items and tax was INR 6,601.06 million. Exceptional items of INR 1,151.56 million reduced that amount to PBT of INR 5,449.50 million.
- Subtract tax: tax expense was INR 1,414.34 million, leaving PAT of INR 4,035.16 million.
- Check the arithmetic: the reconstructed bridge should lead to the reported PBT and PAT before you calculate any ratio.
| FY2025 standalone income bridge | INR million |
|---|---|
| Revenue from operations | 27,954.77 |
| Other income | 383.69 |
| Gross revenue | 28,338.46 |
| Total expenses | (21,737.40) |
| Profit before exceptional items and tax | 6,601.06 |
| Exceptional items | (1,151.56) |
| Profit before tax | 5,449.50 |
| Tax expense | (1,414.34) |
| Profit after tax | 4,035.16 |
Why exceptional items matter
An exceptional charge consumed a material part of the pre-exceptional result. Comparing FY2025 PBT with another year without first identifying that charge can make recurring profitability look weaker or stronger than it is. Keep two columns in your analysis: reported PBT and PBT before exceptional items. Do not silently add back an exceptional item; decide whether it is genuinely non-recurring and explain the judgment.
What the tax line tells you
FY2025 tax expense divided by reported PBT is approximately 25.95%. This is an effective rate for that statement, not a statutory rate or a forecast. Deferred tax, disallowances, tax credits and the treatment of exceptional items can all move the effective rate, so read the tax note before projecting it.
4. Read the balance sheet as a liquidity and capital-allocation test
After the income statement, inspect the balance sheet at the reporting date. The important question is not simply whether total assets grew, but whether the assets can support operations without creating excessive liquidity or refinancing risk.

5. Reconcile accounting profit with cash
PAT is an accrual measure. The cash-flow statement shows whether customers paid, whether inventory consumed cash and whether the business needed borrowing or asset sales to fund investment.
Operating cash flow
Start with cash generated from operations and read the working-capital adjustments. A rise in receivables or inventory can cause operating cash flow to lag PAT. Also check whether provisions, deferred tax and other non-cash items explain a large reconciliation.
Investing cash flow
Capital expenditure, purchases of equipment, acquisitions and investment maturities belong here. A manufacturing company can report strong PAT while investing cash flow is heavily negative because it is expanding capacity. Compare capital expenditure with depreciation and the stated capacity plan.

Borrowings, repayments, lease payments, dividends and share transactions explain how the funding gap was closed. If operating cash flow is weak and financing inflows are large, treat the earnings quality question separately from the profitability question.
A practical check is to place PAT, operating cash flow and capital expenditure in a three-year table. Investigate persistent divergence rather than relying on a single year.
6. Handle FY2024 comparisons without mixing incompatible bases
The FY2024 standalone report presents gross revenue of INR 243,932.23 lakhs, PBT of INR 51,047.21 lakhs and PAT of INR 35,736.62 lakhs. It reports a PBT-to-sales margin of 20.93%, a PAT-to-sales margin of 14.65%, revenue growth of 4.39% and PAT decline of 14.05% for its stated comparison.

The FY2024 materials are identified as special-purpose statements, and the FY2025 directors’ table supplies its own growth percentages. Because the units, comparative columns and statement basis are not identical, do not recalculate FY2025 growth by dividing the FY2025 figures by the FY2024 report figures and then present the result as the company’s reported growth. Use the comparative numbers printed within one report for a formal trend, and label any conversion or reconciliation you perform.
EPS and face-value changes
EPS is profit attributable to ordinary shareholders divided by the weighted-average number of shares. The FY2024 report notes a change in equity-share face value and provides a comparable-share calculation. Check that adjustment before comparing FY2024 and FY2025 EPS; a change in face value or share count can alter the displayed EPS without a corresponding change in economic profit.
7. Why profit can change differently from revenue
Revenue is only the first line of the income statement. The FY2025 bridge shows several points where growth can be absorbed or amplified:
Product and input mix
Materials, inventory changes and other operating costs may rise faster than sales when the product mix shifts toward lower-margin work or input prices increase. Read the notes for cost categories and compare each major expense with revenue over several years.
Employee and capacity costs
Hiring, wage changes, new facilities and under-utilised capacity can raise employee costs and depreciation before the additional capacity generates sales. Conversely, better utilisation can allow revenue to grow faster than fixed costs.

Higher borrowings or interest rates reduce PBT even if operating revenue is stable. Separate operating performance from financing by checking finance cost and interest coverage.
Exceptional items
The FY2025 exceptional charge reduced PBT after the pre-exceptional result was calculated. A year with a large charge cannot be compared with a year without one using only headline PBT.

Tax and share count
Tax-rate changes affect PAT after PBT is set, while share issues, buybacks, splits or face-value changes affect EPS. That is why revenue growth, PBT growth, PAT growth and EPS growth should be displayed in separate columns.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.8. Calculate the core profitability ratios correctly
PBT margin
Formula: PBT ÷ gross revenue. For FY2025 standalone, INR 5,449.50 million divided by INR 28,338.46 million gives the reported 19.23%. It measures pre-tax profitability before the tax burden, but it still includes the exceptional item unless you also calculate a pre-exceptional version.
PAT margin
Formula: PAT ÷ gross revenue. FY2025 standalone PAT of INR 4,035.16 million divided by gross revenue of INR 28,338.46 million gives 14.24%. This is the portion retained after tax and all reported expenses.
Pre-exceptional margin
For a recurring-profit view, divide profit before exceptional items and tax by gross revenue, but label it clearly as pre-exceptional PBT margin. It is an analytical supplement, not a replacement for reported PBT margin.
ROE and asset turnover
ROE uses PAT divided by average shareholders’ equity, not ending equity alone when beginning equity is available. Asset turnover uses revenue divided by average total assets. Both ratios are sensitive to acquisitions, revaluations and large capital projects, so compare businesses with similar asset intensity.
Interest coverage
Choose either EBIT or PBT plus finance cost as the numerator and state the choice. Changing the numerator changes the ratio, so two companies’ coverage figures are not comparable until their definitions match.
9. Compare Indo-MIM over time and with appropriate peers
Use at least three years when the statements are comparable. Build a worksheet with scope, unit, revenue, PBT, PAT, margins, exceptional items, operating cash flow, capital expenditure, debt and share count. Then compare Indo-MIM with relevant precision-engineering or manufacturing companies, not with businesses whose economics are dominated by software, financial services or commodities.

Time-series comparison reveals direction; industry comparison provides context. A 20% margin can be strong or weak depending on the peer set, accounting policy, product mix and capital intensity. Explain the denominator and accounting scope for every peer ratio, and do not treat one isolated ratio as a verdict.
10. Common reading traps and fixes
Trap: combining standalone and consolidated numbers
Fix: Put “S” or “C” beside every cell in your spreadsheet and calculate each ratio within one scope.
Trap: hiding the unit conversion
Fix: Keep the published INR lakh figure, show the converted INR million figure in a separate column and record the conversion factor.

11. A repeatable annual-report checklist
- Download the standalone and consolidated statements for the same financial year.
- Record the reporting date, scope and unit on every page of your notes.
- Copy the directors’ revenue, PBT, PAT, EPS and margin figures.
- Rebuild revenue, expenses, exceptional items, tax and PAT from the detailed statement.
- Read receivables, inventory, debt, lease liabilities, provisions and equity on the balance sheet.
- Reconcile PAT with operating, investing and financing cash flows.
- Calculate only ratios whose line-item definitions are explicit.
- Compare several consistent years and a relevant manufacturing peer group.
- Write a conclusion that distinguishes recurring operations, exceptional items, liquidity and cash generation.
12. The context supplied by the directors’ report
“Your directors have pleasure in presenting this 29th Annual Report of INDO-MIM Limited (formerly known as INDO-MIM Private Limited) (‘Company’) together with Audited Financial Statements for the financial year ended 31st March 2025.”
The statement identifies the legal entity, the report year and the audited-statement context. Use that identity when matching the report to filings and when deciding whether a subsidiary belongs in the numbers you are analysing.
Bottom line
A reliable Indo-MIM analysis is a controlled comparison, not a single ratio. Keep standalone and consolidated figures separate, preserve the published units, rebuild the FY2025 income statement, isolate the INR 1,151.56 million exceptional item, test profit against cash flow, and compare only like-for-like periods and peers. That process explains both what changed and whether the change is likely to recur.
