You can use Poland’s open National Court Register (KRS) API to retrieve information about a registered entity corresponding to a current or full register extract, or to obtain a list of entities that had entries made on a specified day. The official public pages confirm those functions, but do not provide the endpoint paths or request syntax in the material available here. Use the live Portal Rejestrów Sądowych API documentation for the technical call details rather than guessing.
Check that the entity belongs in KRS
KRS is Poland’s public register for entrepreneurs and specified kinds of organizations. It does not cover sole proprietorships or civil-law partnerships. For a sole proprietorship, search the government’s CEIDG service instead. The official guide to obtaining KRS information describes these register boundaries: Uzyskaj informacje z Krajowego Rejestru Sądowego.

Current information for the present register state
A current extract contains current data. Choose this concept when you need the entity’s current register information rather than its history. The Ministry of Justice says anyone may use the API to obtain information corresponding to a current extract: announcement of the open KRS API.

Full information when historical entries matter
A full extract includes historical entries as well as current information, except entries that cannot be disclosed. This is the relevant option when the entity’s past register entries matter, not just its present status. See the government’s explanation of current and full KRS information.
#1 Best Overall
A list of entities entered on a specified day
The API also supports obtaining a list of entities for which entries were made on a selected day. This is a day-specific function; the official description does not establish a general arbitrary date-range search. The function is described by the Portal Rejestrów Sądowych.
What the public information establishes—and what it does not
The Ministry’s 8 March 2022 announcement says anyone can obtain API data corresponding to a current or full extract, and a list of entities with entries made on a specified day. The portal likewise describes the service as available to everyone. These pages establish the broad retrieval options, not the precise technical recipe for making a call.

The official pages cited here do not state endpoint paths, required identifiers, request parameter names, accepted extract values, response schema, authentication requirements, pagination behavior, error formats, or rate limits. Check those details in the live official API documentation before building a client. In particular, do not treat an illustrative URL or parameter name from an unofficial example as an established API contract.

- Confirm the register. Verify that the target is an entity covered by KRS. For a sole proprietorship, use CEIDG; KRS also excludes civil-law partnerships, according to the government KRS service guide.
- Decide whether you need current or full information. Use current information for current register data; choose full information when historical entries are needed, bearing in mind that non-disclosable entries are excepted.
- Decide whether your query concerns an entity or a particular day. The published API description distinguishes entity information corresponding to an extract from a list of entities with entries made on a specified day.
- Open the official technical documentation. Confirm the exact route, identifiers, parameters, output fields, and any access or usage conditions in the live PRS documentation. The public service summaries do not specify these implementation details.
- Build and validate against the documented contract. Follow the specification for response parsing, pagination, errors, and service limits. Do not assume these behaviors where the official material does not state them.
Privacy and use of retrieved data
The PRS states that API-retrieved data about natural persons are anonymized for first names, surnames, and PESEL numbers. Treat this as a limitation documented for API output; it does not establish that all personal data are hidden in every KRS system or document. See the Portal Rejestrów Sądowych.

When a retrieved printout has legal force
The Ministry of Justice says a self-retrieved printout of current KRS information can have the same legal force as a document issued by Central Information of the KRS if it has features that allow verification against KRS data. This is a conditional statement about a verifiable printout of current information; it should not be generalized to every raw API response or to arbitrary renderings. The Ministry explains the condition on its page about obtaining information from KRS.
